I find this sort of take very dishonest.

Let's not pretend that MUFC fans who have a gripe with Ole are doing it for no good reason or that it's just spiteful. Results under Ole aren't great, and over the course of the last 2 years he hasn't done better than previous managers.

The Ole-out part of this forum are rational, and have taken their stance for good reason. A few weeks ago I think most would say Ole does deserve to be sacked, and today he's strung together a couple of good games back-to-back so that sentiment has changed.

I think you should stop being a joke poster, otherwise, like what you said, no one is going to take what you say seriously. I certainly don't, already.
To illustrate this, I am in the "Ole is doing a good job but I have long term doubts" camp. I'm for giving him time to build this team and see what he can do, if he can make the team consistently play at a high level. At the end of the day I don't think that I belong in the Ole In camp because I have doubts about his abilities but I'm not in the Ole Out camp either because I want to see if my doubts are warranted.

Its Christmas not 1 April. Have a day off. My Christmas cracker joke was funnier than you.

Pochettino’s lack of a trophy, any trophy to date in his career does hang as a big question mark over his head, though granted he’s still reasonably young in managerial terms at 48.

I expect he’ll win a reasonable amount of domestic silverware at PSG as every manager there does but I’m not so sure he’s as good a bet to win them that CL as someone like max allegri would’ve been.
Allegri has not done better than Pochettino in CL despite having coached far stronger teams than Pochettino's Spurs on paper.

Quite frankly if he doesn’t win most things domestically he has failed, he has been brought in the win the CL. As for @Amadaeus i thinks he’s going to need a few days to get over this
 try a few weeks!

Maybe a PSG forum will be graced with his presence?

Other than the presumably big payday, I can’t see any reason a supposed top manager would go to PSG.

I don't know, a shot at winning the CL, coaching players like Neymar, Mbappé, Di Maria, Icardi or Verratti, the fact that he played for PSG and was team captain for exemple.

I think most Spurs fans called that he wanted PSG, and no this is no dig at the United faithful, I also said you should stick with Ole.
Well of course. He has strong connection to psg. But I can see him at united one day. He really convinced me whilst at Spurs. You were the best team in the league with him despite actually not winning anything. I think only spurs can do that.

What's @Amadaeus 's opinion on this.

What does he think Poch can achieve with PSG?
Great move for him. He will get managerial experience coaching elite talent. Something that Spurs couldn't offer him. With this move, Pochettino has established himself as a world class coach.

I believe his main goal is to win champion league. I believe if properly funded, he can achieve that. The current psg side need more elite talent. Delle Ali isn't that and moise kean upfront isn't going to help either.

Get over what? It is a huge loss for United, but for Pochettino, it is an amazing move. I recalled some fans saying why isn't any big club interested in him. Psg is one of the biggest club in the world, which only shows that Pochettino is one of if not the best manager in football.

Kean will most likely leave at the end of the season, Icardi is supposed to be our main striker.

There's a LOT to change in our roster for Pochettino's style, Paredes, Danilo, Draxler etc. can't fit and he'll have to convince Mbappé that he needs to work far more off the ball.

I wish he can achieve that but it'll be a very difficult task. Lets hope he's pumped and ready to go because it won't be a quiet job.

I completely forgot you had Icardi. Not sure if he is the striker that will help you win the champion league. But with Pochettino Argentina connection, preference for an out and out striker like him, and ability to transform average or top players in world class talent, Icardi might turn into a worldie under Pochettino.

Pochettino will definitely have trouble telling the divas in your team to work harder. But, over the years his Spurs team has adapted to learning how to play without out working their opponent and he event got to the champion league final with such an approach. I expect him to get your midfield to be more industrious, but give Neymar and Mbappe more free role in the attack

Neymar is far easier to coach that what most newspaper describe. The real challenge is Mbappé, he's at a point in his carreer when he needs a coach to help him use his natural abilities for a higher purpose. The boy wonder thing isn't enough anymore. That'll probably be Pochettino's biggest challenge but if he manages to do with high what he did with Son, the result could be worth it.

Nah, a lot of it is on Levy. Pochettino needed that push and support from the board. They were a Bruno Fernandes signing from winnings significant trophies as Jamie Carraghar indicated on MNF. But, the stadium was more important.

It seem Pochettino trajectory is going upward. With PSG, he has entered the world class club bracket. Spurs will be a step down from that. Post psg, there will be Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern and other elite club in the market for him to consider. Spurs might be a last resort at this point in his career

 You ignore my other posts, try to patronise me, then ignore what Poch has said himself. Laughable. Thanks for the triggerage.

"From the day I left the club, my dream is to be back one day and to try to finish the work we didn't finish. We were so close to winning the Premier League and Champions League." Poch on Tottenham.

At least back up your absolute tom foolery with facts, instead of your own agenda, pathetic.

His dream is a step down, do you understand what you see as a step down isn't what Poch might see? Do you understand how much horseshit you talk? Seriously?

That dream can be in the future. Pochettino needs to manage an ambitious club at the moment that can attract top talent. So managing spurs right now will be a step down because they can't offer him that.

And he has PSG? Which is he doesn't dominate domestically he will be seen as a failure. I do not get your point.

Psg will always be in the champion league, in contention for trophies, and have elite talents at their disposal to acquire. That is a step up from Spurs especially before Poch transformed you lot.

Levy did a good job getting Mourinho. Hopefully, he can win you lot a significant trophy and get you back in the champion league consistently with the great foundation Pochettino set for him at Spurs.

Pochettino seems to be very strict about fitness. Iirc, spurs players in 14-15 season told that his training sessions are probably the hardest they had encountered.

Will the star footballers at PSG be willing to accept his training methods? That's the big question. Pochettino can be successful with PSG in CL. He has an excellent ball player and midfielder in Veratti, who he can pair with a DM. Veratti can be his new Dembele.

Pochetino is their legend who took over the club in late December. Poch's first real test then.

It's a nonsense job in a nonsense league. You are guaranteed to win domestically no matter what you do.

The only games that matter for you are in the champion's league. You are basically an international manager with 8 to 10 games a season.

You're so unbelievably bitter about Ole being our manager that it's actually sad.
That's irrelevant to what I said. "Lol you're bitter" isn't much of a point.

I don’t really care about Real, they tend to go for a certain type anyway.

PSG why not? He’s outsmarted them twice in Europe. Tuchel got a job so why not?

he’s proving himself in PL now
Real normally go for the most hyped option available to them (Ancelotti, Mourinho, Poch) though them, Barca and Munich normally prefer managers of their nationality tbf. Looking at other clubs in England, most would be happy to be managed by Klopp or Guardiola but none of them would take OGS seriously as far as I can tell.

I think if you stop judging him as a United fan and listen to what everyone else thinks of him, you'll see why some United fans are skeptical that we can actually win a league with him as manager.

The obsession around Klopp not winning trophies was very similar (despite the fact that he did win trophies at Dortmund).

It's just an easy stick used to beat managers with.

Poch will win trophies soon enough and then people who dislike him will use another argument to beat him with.
Agreed. I remember plenty of people here mocking Klopp after Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in 2018:

https://www.redcafe.net/threads/klopp-record-in-finals.438978/

They let their United bias drive their opinions on Klopp and looked fairly stupid over the next two years.

It isn't, though. If Ole were to be sacked today, the next mid-table club in need of a manager would undoubtedly have him on their list of candidates. The idea that no other PL club would be interested in him *now* is so blinkered that it could only come from someone who works hard to convince themselves that Ole is bad, because doing otherwise would mean having to admit you were wrong on the internet.

World class coach? Lets not jump over the fact that he hasn’t won anything in 10+ years as coach. Otherwise we could call Pullis and Dyche as world class.

No loss at all for us. We got a good manager. We are showing progress. We are fighting on 4 fronts. What is it we miss with not getting Poch? As we got lucky with not getting Sancho, we got lucky for not getting Pochettino.

Son is still an Asian dude who has some sort of respect for anyone who's senior. Mbappe is not in that state of mind in my opinion, and I can only see Poch fail to do so, but yeah, he should try.

But what if the same thing is happening right now with Ole? He gets the stick for not being able to pass SFs (though he reached 4 of them now), and he gets the stick for plenty of other things... aren't you going to be looking fairly stupid in the next 2 years then as well? You can just replaced "United" with whatever you want in the sentence above, and Klopp by Ole.

We have plenty here who were pro-Rooney after his decline, pro Pogba, pro LVG, pro.. well everything that failed and they’re still around, making loud noises.

The point is being able to judge a coach for their capacity and not be biased.

Your bullshit is tiring and has no substance

Many football fans confidently form broad opinions on certain managers or players based on just statistics, without looking at context.

Football is a sport that is dependent on so many factors, including a healthy dose of luck.

BS? Alright then, I see you do not judge a manager for his capacity at all.
Enjoy your negativity.

Yes, luck is part of it, and it's a game of fine margin sometimes.
But still, a direction gives a more consistent outcome.
I don't look at stats per se, but I do like what I feel when I see this team. They make me stand up again, they thrill me, they play with their heart again, and you start feeling something is building up.
We do have some weaknesses but that's just the squad's reality. Hiding those weaknesses and emphasizing our strengths is what a manager should do, and so far, I think we are seeing it with Ole.
