Forget sancho, we should have been all over him. I would still sign him.

He’s looking like the better deal now.

The fact we moved Rashford out to the right today and got AWB to push forward to force him to track back shows what we had to do to try and keep him out of the game.

Buy players that scare the opposition, that's him.

He would create even more space for the likes of Bruno, Rashford and Martial. That's a formidable attack.

He scared the hell out of me today but when not playing against us he is really a joy to watch. One of those players that make everything look so easy.

Funny thing is, that was a 7/10 Jack performance. Still assisted and created 4 chances. I'm perpetually in awe that we have this player playing for us every week.

last time we started imagining stuff like that ended up with Ake joining City. I don’t think we’ll get Jack, at least not in the winter window.

I don't think anything would happen with Ake. But this one with Grealish, after a superb performance, and our years of linking with him, it just feels different. You're right that maybe it won't be this winter, but this Summer it will be On.

Want to believe that so much but still got a horrible feeling he joins a rival, my dream summer window would be Ramos, Grealish (Pogba replacement) & Zakaria, however probably only the last one of those is realistic.

We went hard for Sancho last Summer. If Ole has a great season, I think Woody will be willing to get Grealish.

Do you think Villa be able to keep hold of him?
They have extend contract with him last summer if I remember not wrong. So, as long as Villa stays in PL and didn't get relegate, it would be very hard to convince Villa to do a deal, unless we are willing to pay way over his value.

Last summer he was quoted at 80m, but since he has been keep improving this season, now will need to bid 100m for him.

Yeah his price has definitely risen from last summer

For Villa to sell him in Jan would be foolish. They have him locked into a deal and Grealish has a loyalty to Villa. I think he'd be our most expensive signing if we managed to get him.

How much do you think Villa would sell him for if at all? A reasonable price and not like Dortmund who put 120mil price tag on Sancho which made it impossible really

Unlikely signing and even more expensive than in the summer. Question is if he could play on the right I dont like Rashford there

If we can find a way to get him in January our chances for pushing for the title increases massively. He’s that good. Plus he will allow Bruno to get some rest as well.
Not a chance it happens though.

I still think we'll go for cheaper replacement rather than splash big money for him. That said, he was impressive last night, the only player who could make an accurate long range pass, in a tight game that is very valuable.

Funny reading a lot of these comments. Only 4 months or so ago that he was only worth £45m tops, a pointless signing as wouldnt get into our side with Rashford and Bruno in it, and pointless as signing Sancho for £100m and anyway, VDB is a far better player and option for us, if he is that good why isnt Southgate playing him, he can only play left wing, cant play in the middle or on the right......they were the general responses I got suggesting signing him.

Why are a lot of people saying he has suddenly got great now? He was one of the best players in the league last season, has been excellent for Villa in the championship for some time too....is it the England call ups?

There is no way we are going to pay £100m for him sadly and it will now take such a fee, as Villa quite rightly are never letting him go for less. We could have signed him this summer I feel for £70m and have seriously missed a trick not doing so, huge huge mistake putting all our major eggs in the Sancho basket and handling that transfer awfully then going to plan a, b or c.

Yes it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise as personally think if we signed Grealish, we dodnt sign Diallo possibly and we definately dont sign Pellestri......but the starting options we have missed out on Grealish wise, can start ahead of Rashford when he is out of form, can start on the right....no James, can rest Fernandes....all allows Martial and Greenwood to compete for the cf spot they should be.....but for me, I actually envisaged him starting in Fernandes position and Fernandes actually converting to the old Pogba role....box to box midfielder more attacking than defending....bye Pogba

Anyway Grealish has been an excellent player for some time now, it is good he is finally gettign recognition from English fans and the England team too as we just dont have or have had many English players with the SPanish like dribbling technique he has. Not comparing him ability wise whatsoever to Iniesta as obviously not in that league of one of the best.....but he does have a similar style and traits to Iniesta.

I think if he wants to leave, Villa will let him. He saved them from relegation zone then stayed for another season. Brilliant player on the pitch.

Imagine he won villa the league, the English Maradona.

In all seriousness though I wish Pep doesn’t get him and buy himself out of the hole he’s in.

He’s the best ball carrier in the league and if we get him, the next four years I will cherish because watching Grealish, Bruno, Martial (signings will drive him), Rashford and Greenwood blossom together will be fantastic.

He was excellent yesterday and would be a fantastic signing if we could get him, I really hope we’re in for him in the summer but I think the fee would be too much.

Everything goes through him. It wont be like that here.
I’d want him in centre mid and I would want everything to go through him. The last ten minutes yesterday were so frustrating the way we couldn’t get hold of the ball and take the sting out of the game. Grealish would solve that problem (among others).

Arent villa owned by a couple of billionaires?

Its not as if they're in any financial difficulty so they might not want or need to sell him. Even if we offer £80 million they'd likely turn it down.

I’m not sure why he would tie himself down to a long term contract if he had ambitions of moving clubs? You’d at least have expected a release clause! I have a suspicion he wants be a Villa legend (probably already is) and stay there his whole career!

Bit harsh on Pogba who had a pretty good game himself.

His skill basically set goal 1 in motion. And not to forget he earnt the pen too!
Yeah, Pogba was great yesterday. But Grealish has shown much more consistency lately. And we wouldn’t have to deal with the constant rumours fed by his mafiosi-like agent.
