Honestly, I don't care who takes him as long as he goes. Problem is, he thinks he can play in a top side, his ego won't let him consider playing for the likes of Fulham. Something has to give if we're going to get rid of him any time soon.
I think I read when he hired Raiola that he did so with the expectation of getting a champions league club - was like Moyes assuming he could get a champions league club when he was fired.

Confidence is obviously important for a footballer, but sometimes it borders on delusional.

Imagine asking to play for a CL club and then showing your stats of 0 goals or assists for a calendar year as an AM? They'd fecking laugh you out of the office.

Inter Milan have already done us big favours regarding outbounding players so fair enough on not wanting another one

I am very happy to be back in Italy. I enjoyed my five years here, I went to France, but I jumped at this opportunity. I was in a situation that was not good for me, as I have not played very many games this season. I spoke to my family, we wanted to come back to Italy.

Genoa were interested from the start and did everything to bring me here, so that made me choose them. I want to help the team and hope to bring some experience to the side. I watched their most recent game, they have some very good players. It’s a pity the fans can’t come to the stadium, but hopefully we’ll see them in the stands as soon as possible.

  • Karsdorp: Summer 2022
  • Lorenzo Pellegrini: Summer 2022
  • Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Summer 2021
    • Terms agreed, but they're waiting for a formal confirmation

  • Parma still working on bringing Malcuit in
  • Talks for Sevilla's Franco Vazquez may not continue depending on d'Aversa
  • Parma also after Alfred Duncan, who's also looked at by Cagliari and Torino

Other than Sport Witness, who got a sh*t tonne of unwarranted abuse, has anyone else brought Romano up on that ?
Everyone here lately once we figured it out
Funky Cold Medina indeed.

Is it just me or can no-one else stand to read the replies these days to any info posted by Fabrizio? Seems to be full of kids saying the same thing over and over with no relevance to the original post. "*Insert team* news?", "They're shit", "Ratioed" ad nauseam.
And the inevitable tweets about some French player in La Liga and gets flooded with replies like "United news Fab". Really cringey stuff.

They can have him on a free. Think of it as a loyalty stamp. Imagine a team of Lingard, Sanchez, Lukaku, Young and Darmian winning the Scudetto.

Are there any news linking a DM to Utd?

I feel we need a proper DM to replace Matic ( I felt he was good yesterday, dropping to defense so our WBs could attack more and stretch low blocks). While Fred and McT are good, I feel we need someone physically great to help in the transition (from defending to attack).

I wanted 4: Schweinsteiger (past his best but was still delighted we got him), Neuer (though De Gea has generally done well for us), Kroos and Mueller. Wouldn't have minded Reus either but too injury-prone. They're all players that I feel genuinely admire Man United. Not based on anything other than gut instinct though. Though perhaps it's their work ethic and style of play too.
I said "central-midfielders" ;).....of course i would have wanted more germans in other positions for us too.

True, apologies. I got overexcited imagining what could've been. Though to be fair, I reckon Neuer could do a decent job as a CDM

I remember the hype that surrounded Jovic. People were going crazy over him. Just goes to show we do tend to overrate players in other leagues. That being said, he is still relatively young, and only because it didn't happen for him at Madrid, it doesn't mean he can reignite his career elsewhere.

If we hadnt of got Cavani on a free i think we probably would have taken a punt on Jovic on loan.

Yes, the hype around Jovic was funny. And the thing is, he didn't even produce fantastic numbers in Bundesliga that would somehow justify the transfer sum. We are talking about a player who had one good season where he scored in the double figures, 17 goals - good season, sure, but not exactly setting the world ablaze for a striker.

That's why I'd argue that what propelled that whole Frankfurt attack into the spotlight of hype and transfer desire (it's not just Jovic after all - Haller too had a big money move that flopped, after scoring 15 goals ONCE in Bundesliga in his mid 20s; Rebic was touted to go to all kinds of big clubs and is now doing okayish at Milan..) was not so much their league campaign but their awesome, surprising, spectacular David v Goliath Europa League campaign where they made it to the semis against all odds, topping a group with Lazio and Marseille and beating Shakhtar, Inter, Benfica to make it close vs Chelsea. Jovic scored 10 goals in that campaign.
Without that run, I wonder if anyone would be so giddy as to pay 50m-60m € for strikers with such an ultimately unimpressive record in Bundesliga and somehow expect them to be prolific world beaters.

.
It was 100% their Europa League campaign, Jovic was on fire and it was seen as a sign that he could perform against good clubs.

I still reckon he'll have a decent career once he leaves the Madrid circus

Surely Soumare for £20m is worth it

Who were you thinking of
Tbh with you there should be plenty of value signings from the French league because it's a country brimming with young talent. There are a few clubs like PSG and a few others who will be unaffected by all this, but personally i'd have a good look at Sven Botman from Lille as he's a LCB and fits the criteria of a potentially commanding CB. I was listening to Luis Campos who was on the Duncan Castles podcast and he seems to rate him highly.

CB, DM, Grealish or Sancho.

The DM should be someone who can transition play to a good level so I would personally hope we go for someone with the ability to pass the ball to a high level whilst resisting the press because we need someone like that IMO.

OK so when did this start because that certainly didn't happen in the last feckin transfer window!?

That would be ideal if they did aim for three major signings, we don't need a huge amount of players to add into the squad now, just a handful of key signings in problem areas.

If we did sign a top CB, DM and one of Grealish/Sancho that would more or less fix every position on the pitch with the exception of a top level striker.

Personally I think we should go all out for Haaland purely because he won't be available for long and strikers like that do not come along often.

The last transfer window was affected by Covid but it's been reported for a while by many reputable journos that our strategy is 3 in, 3 out..
