I think this pretty much proves the Ecuador journos and outlets are as rubbish as the Portuguese ones
I think it shows that his agent was shopping him around to the PL clubs, started from the top and ended up at Brighton as the first to bite.

It’s a good move for him. It sounded like he’s a United fan. If he does well we will be front of the queue chequebook in hand. We more than likely would have had to loan him out for a season or 2 anyway and he’s probably going to get plenty of game time at that level of club. Not sure about the multiple owners etc... I’m hoping we do take on a few south american talents and we don’t beat about the bush for months deciding or bow out for whatever reason like we normally do. This is the time to take chances and to grab the bargains.

Just close this thread it depresses me
I still think he could be a future Utd player provided he goes to Brighton so am upbeat about that, shouldn't say this but would be a cut price deal if they end up going down this season but looks unlikely they will

Yeah, nothing but agents at play here with the links to United and then Chelsea.

I can't see that we went in for him then pulled out. Sounds like a standard case of agents hawking him around to see if anything bigger came in. With all the hype though, why not snap him up for 5m and loan him to Brighton? They were quoting clubs 50m for Ben White. Imagine what they'll ask us for if the lad is a hit.

They wouldn't be able to quote that price for White or Bissouma if they end up going down

Tony Valencia might told him to go to relegation side first before joining a big club for more fortunes, just like he did.

Going to a belgium 2nd division team?

Clearly not as big of a talent as people are making out then.

If even Brighton don't think he's good enough for them i'm not sure why we should be so upset.
He might lose his spot for Ecuador if he disappears into the Belgium second tier,
He would get more quality in the Utd u23s

He could but if he does well there everyone will be after him and him being a fan will count for little. And the fee demanded will be big. Don't see why everyone is so happy about him moving to Brighton if he's a big talent

I hope he told him to practice using his left foot so defenders don’t just show him the inside to negate his attacking prowess

I disagree, there's being a fan then saying it's his actual goal to play for United, he says in the interview from a month back that he even wants to go to other European clubs to prepare for United.

I also read he wanted to go to a club that could offer regular game time. Ole has a set play of mctom Bruno Fred with pogba and Matic as well. VDB is in the wings so he wouldn't get regular game time here.

We can't sign em all lads. We've got more than our fair share of hot prospects through the door in the last few years and more will likely arrive in the coming years.

And as far as Caicedo is concerned, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a clause in his contract allowing him to join a specific club for a set price in the future.

Yeah, he'd be smart to include a release clause if he's joining a PL club and has ambitions of playing for other big clubs in the future, otherwise he may face a Zaha-esque scenario.

Can´t quote media but Fabrizio Romano, what a fraud. Just stealing tweets from random people, taking chances everytime. No insights whatsoever. Can´t believe anyone is making money form what he does. I guess people are desperate to believe things..

As for Moises Caiceido, looks good in highlight reel but some people massively overract, like he plays like Pogba with his passing etc well if you pick 5 good passes from his all time highlights everyone will look good although I see nothing special in that department. Pick 10 great passes McTominay made and he will look like next Carrick. Andreas Pereira would have a better much better highglight reel than him. So I am not fussed anymor, if we really want him and he´s worth it we would get him. Probably another player who will end up in an average team and noone will care about in few years.

We certainly have more targets as who to bring in every department.

Hopefully we have just saved our selves the 7 year cycle of:-

- he is the next Ronaldo/Messi/Pogba(do we really want that?/Keane/Robson
- why is he not in the squad/bench/ first XI
- he needs time he is a kid
- he needs to bulk up/focus more/diet/change his friends
- loan him to another premier league club --》 championship club --》Any European team, Shrewsbury
- he is still young
- why have we extended him for 5 years
- he is a good squad player/replacement for TFM, James, young Lingard
-ship him out to Barca/Real or Ossasuna
- lets get Kai Rooney into the team

Then buy Moises back for £120M after two good sesasoms with Dortmund as the Matic replacement

Apparently we walked away because the third party stuff was a mess. Fair enough really. Apparently Brighton are loaning him out anyway.

To be fair, Tony was using left foot before his ankle broke, but I get your point.

If he goes to Brighton, it probably means the hype about Bissouma moving on has some legs to it. He looks a player.

South Americans with dual ownership are always tricky - cant blame us for passing this one up for someone who would be nowhere near the first team. Let him develop

So at this moment he's not even good enough for lowly Brighton and is being loaned to Union Saint-Gilloise (who?!)

Something not right about any of this.

Too many 'parties' involved.

A real deal talent, but he's going to some shit club in Belgium? wants to play for Utd but agrees to this when he could have got better level football elsewhere?

A host of other cubs pulling out apart form us.

Todays Transfer Window podcast Duncan Castles said Utd pulled out of the deal due to agent difficulties. The deal was £6mil plus 20% sell on clause. Brighton have just hit these difficulties as the agent representing the player isnt the offical agent for the player as registered with the ecuadorian FA.

So still a two horse race at moment between Brighton and Newcastle. If it wasnt for Covid and agent difficulties, castles would expect more clubs to be interested. Top scouts say he has potential to be a top top talent ala Kante at Chelsea.

Answered on the Transfer Window podcast. Because of covid and the new interim Visa rules for non EU players.

So in other words United have been put off by the agent difficulties which I can totally understand

But if the deal is agreed, does it really matter that much which agent represents him? Clubs agree, player agrees - how can an agent pull the plug?

Yeah all sounds a bit complicated so maybe we were right to pull away from this

It won't be an agent, it will be someone who owns a stake in the player acting as an agent. Remember when Tevez was owned by a sports group?

Oh. You mean Caicedo is partially owned by some “agent”? It is a totally different story then.

Tim Vickery looking fairly silly on Sky Sports about this , he’s totally backtracked on what he said last week about going to Utd

Someone needs to tell those NERDS who rule on work permits that this guy is the missing link between us and winning the title, according to some Caf super scouts who’ve never seen him play.
