If you appointed some new less known manager, then there are reasons to give him time. But everyone knows Jose (including Man Utd supporters who know him better than many others). He is past it tactically, and nothing changes.
Again, so we appoint him and we should immediately want him out? That is a shit house fan perspective.

It's infuriating
I remember when we were shackled to this feeling. The thing I don't understand is, the guy has been a brilliant manager for most of his career, why doesn't he just stop doing this shit? It kept happening with us when he was here, but he just doesn't learn. It's bizarre

Well we kind of knew but always thought his experience would see him adapt. Not getting the players (poor excuse I know) at Utd maybe gave him some room for doubt.

However Spurs is chock-a-block with talent, specially up front. Imagine Klopp in charge of this Spurs team right now. Jose hasn't adapted, refuses to adapt. Useless manager.
Please tell me you didn’t buy that myth did you. He was backed to almost a ridiculous level at Utd with a complete free reign over targets and spending. The only time we didn’t back him was his final summer window at people realised he’d already pissed millions down the drain.

The guy reminds me of trump, how he gets so many people to believe his nonsense is his most special ability.

You are completely missing the point.

Do I?

If you are a Spurs fan (and you are), you need to be wishing your club to succeed (correct me if I’m wrong).

So, if club owners do something that is by default detrimental to the club (ie hire Jose), does it need to be supported just because it’s your club? I don’t think so, but opinions may differ

Jose being Jose.

Right results and Liverpool could be 6th Sunday night :)

(PS. Welcome back @GlastonSpur )
Or we beat you and reclaim top spot, sending you on a downward spiral.

Honestly I can't remember the last time we were 6th after 18 games. Maybe Klopp's first season (15/16) when we were further down the table. I might be wrong but I think that's it.

Phenomenal. They're close to securing survival by the 21st match day at this rate. What a start to the season so far.
I was looking at team stats yesterday and I think they have the highest chance creation in the league this season.

If you support a team, and you automatically go against a manager, IMO you aren't a fan plain and simple.

Even when George Graham managed your boys?

Spurs fans wouldn't even mention his name in the chants.

It's an unusual season.. very tight. Think Fulham's equaliser dropped Spurs 3 places.

You winning is possible, good team. I think we'll end up top 4 this season regardless though but psychologically, Sunday's game is huge. Despite how tight it is now, I think there's only 4 teams I can see who can win this league (probably 3) and if that's going to be us, we need to be winning games like Sunday.

I am amazed youre old enough to remember that
It was only 20 years back he was managing them and I love a late 90s/early 00s nostalgia fest.

He also won them a major trophy so Spurs fans will remember him even if they prefered not to.

I think you'd be fine with a draw. Keeps you top for the time being and keeps you unbeaten. We need the win more than you do.

Would normally agree with you but City are a huge threat especially with those two games in hand on both of us, having said that neither of them are easy ones but as I said earlier what shape are Villa going to be in next Wednesday. I expect Everton to also give them a game but remains to be seen whether that will be enough to get anything from it

Yeah of course but drawing at Anfield isn't a bad result for United in the context of this season.

City are favorites currently.

So we appoint him and you immediately want us to call him out? That's an odd thought process for a football fan.
I think the poster isn’t asking you to call him out but questioning your belief.

Do you see the progress he has shown and the positivity he will bring for him to be the right man though? Do you still believe in him (not blindly)? Or right now you are just blindly believe in the manager?

Drawing at Anfield to Liverpool side without VVD, Gomes and Matip is a bad result for United in the context of this season in my opinion. If we are ever going to beat Liverpool and finally makes Liverpool lose in Anfield, the best possible will be this weekend.

I work with a Spurs fan and told him their biggest issue is the over reliance on Kane and Son. He took exception to this (Spurs were flying at the time), would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it?

Kane and Son were unplayable during Spurs fast start (including the 6-1 :nervous:), but I always feel if one of the two either dips I'm form or gets injured, it just leaves a solid team with no goal threat. There's been no goals from midfield since Erikson left.

I am a Spurs supporter? I am going to support, football without belief is pretty fecking pointless. I will give anyone a chance.

I think the way the team is set up doesn't help.

So you just blindly believe in manager then without a good realistic reason?

It sounds like Ty from AFTV. There is a reason why people call him deluded.

He has a pretty good record for winning stuff, he started out well, we were playing some good football... You do realise how patronising you sound, is it on purpose or are you blind to it?

If you give lazy and irrelevant answer to the question then don’t start taking it into personal mate, I’m here to ask your view on the manager. Not trying to argue non-sense.

If you believe in manager blindly then that’s your choice, but if you have good reason to believe in the manager then that’s what I want to ask and discuss here.

So tell me about this playing some good football, what type of football is it? Is it the only thing you see as the progress he has shown to make you believe in him?

I'm not taking it personally I am simply pointing out a fact.... He steadied the ship last season, and got us a decent finish after some horrific injuries. This season he got off to a good start and had us around the top of the league with results against the top sides, best goal difference etc. Since the West Ham match he seems to have reverted to his old ways. I didn't believe in him blindly the guy wins trophies everywhere he has been. So there is you answer, you can find it as lazy and irrelevant as you please, lovely guy .

It took you 3rd replies to finally started get into the topic/discussion, I called your previous two posts lazy and irrelevant because they were.

So how is last season can be used as sign progress for Spurs’s project? Kane only injured for 3 months while Son only injured for a month. It’s really not as bad as ours last season with Martial in beginning of season injured for 2 months and also both Pogba & Rashford missed long term injuries.

So no progress then this season since you said he reverted to his old ways? So what was the thing you called playing some good football again, what type of football is it? You avoided the question.

All I want to know is the progress he has shown for the club’s project like a good sign of his football style and his man management that gives reasons why he is the right man and suitable to be Spurs manager. Not talking about how he’s making 1 step forward but 2 step backward.

I like bullying Spurs fans as much as the next guy but I'm not really sure what people are expecting @InLevyITrust to say.

Ok we should have called for his head on day one is that it? Catch a grip, that seems to be what you want me to say here. Don't be such a child.

Calm down! I'm here just want to discuss about your belief in the manager. Simple discussion, don't make it into personal if you don't want to continue or can't answer my questions.

I have said it before, if you believe in manager blindly then that’s your choice, and I respect that because it's similar to how Ty in AFTV believed in Wenger, Emery and also Arteta. But if you have good reason to believe in Jose then that’s what I want to ask and discuss here, I never tell you to call for his head on day one.
