Could we get a poll going?

How many sides do people think are in genuine contention? Leicester and Everton are only 4 points off the top can they be considered? What about Spurs and Southampton who are 6 and 7 points off? If Villa were to win their 3 games in hand they'd be a point off

I think Chelsea and West Ham 10 points off is too big a gap now

I think no side stand out more than us. City conceding less goals, but they do not look that good in attack. Can see them dropping points against clinical opponents.
Liverpool look very average recently as well in attack.

It’s between you, City and us, I think.

If I were a betting man, I’d probably put my money on City as they have Pep and seem to have found their feet.

Ole’s probably not ready to take you all the way and we appear completely lost at the moment.

It’s a weird season, though, so who knows how it looks in a month.

I think you have to include Everton and Leicester in the race. Though I don't realistically see either winning it. As for Spurs, there's a sense of them having a team that could go close, but their manager does them no favours. Before a ball was kicked, I said Liverpool. I'm now leaning slightly to City, though massively hoping that we can give it a good go until the end. It's amusing that Chelsea aren't in the conversation at all. I'd almost deem top 4 as being out of reach for them.

Before the season started I said City but I never anticipated they would play the season without a striker. I think their defence is a solid weapon but I’m yet to be convinced that’s going to hold firm all season, it’s still John Stones afterall. Personally their attack looks much more blunt than previous seasons which I think will mean they draw too many games

I think Liverpool were always due to return to some normal form after 2/3 seasons of exceptional form and that combined with the injuries have meant they are now beatable. I do think they are still probably the team most likely as they have shown they can go on long unbeaten streaks and grind out wins.

Utd are dark horses. I predicted before the season began that we would finish in second place because I truly believe Ole is building a special team here. We have an incredibly young squad which still faces some inconsistencies in performances and lacks the top level experience but it’s clear that our mentality is getting stronger each game. I thought this season might be too soon for us, but now I’m not too sure. If Bruno and our key players stay fit, combined with some well timed return to form for Martial, Greenwood and Pogba at differing sections of the season, we will be hard to stop. We also proved last season that when under pressure we can sustain a streak to achieve our target (top 4 last season).

Overall, the pessimist in me is saying, we aren’t ready and it’s only a matter of time before Liverpool find some top form again while cities defence could end up being the difference maker. The rest is telling me Utd can really continue to surprise people and actually go and win this, but I don’t like saying that out loud too much!

In genuine contention - three sides, with City being favourite. I think we have the second best chance and Liverpool third best

Given we remember a “Leicester season”, one might add Everton, Leicester, Spurs and Villa to the list, but chances of those four are more or less theoretical. Chances of Chelsea are close to nil as they need to catch up on too many teams

Between City, Liverpool and us I reckon. Lot can change though in a month. I’m just happy we’re in the conversation.

Agree.

City are potentially third on 35 with their game in hand. That's one behind United. 100% in a race right now. But I put them in a similar boat as Liverpool in terms of drop off in consistency. Its unlikely that they rediscover the level of consistency they showed for the previous 3 seasons. I think they're capable of dropping more points over the rest of this season.

We will see whether we can get a bit more cushion in our lead on Sunday against yous. Whoever wins will get a big boost in terms of confidence and momentum. Let's see who are top in 10 games, could be anyone.

Are the bookies even taken bets on us still? Feckers in the bag, they should pay out now.
Couldn’t agree more ....I’ve backed Utd at 25‘s and 16’s

Utd are now 5/1 ....still worth a punt I reckon

City are the team we have to beat

I've been leaning more and more towards City over the recent weeks. We were looking great after Palace but our results against sides further down the table (and away from form in general) are so poor.

City have it in them and the experience in their squad to go on a run and win it. United also have the Europa League to manage soon which might hold them back.

Villa are my dark horses because why not.

City or Liverpool. Our title talk is bit premature.

I'm happy to have our name involved in the title race but would take a top 4 right now (if offered).

I'd go with City at the moment however it's fairly open. Something like

City 45%
Liverpool 35%
United 15%
Rest 5%

It's going to be City, they're having a typical Fergie United season so far where they started erratically but around Christmas start picking up some serious (and onimous) momentum, they also know how to chase deficit's as all bar one of their titles have come from doing that.

What is that?

Though at the start of the season a points total in the 70's would have been the progress most would have hoped (and given the transfer window we had probably quite unexpected as well)
I put the link under the picture.

They famously got the 2016 US election wrong, but I still think it's a decent site for analysing data and making predictions. But, yeah... pinch of salt and all that.

Honestly think us. City have a goal problem with a stupid stat that they have only 4 more goals than Brighton atm and thats not looking like changing anytime soon.I dont see these wonderful results or performances from them that everyone else have convinced themselves theyre on.
Im going out on a limb and saying Everton second.

I'd love to say Manchester United but it's too soon in my opinion, to say we are in a title race.
We are not far from middle places after some bad results eventually, don't want to be too gassed about the situation, just keep going and grab the most points we can.

Massive sunday ahead, come on boys!

Also think it's going to be City but it would be nice to have a genuine 3 horses race. City/Liverpool/United for the podium and Chelsea/Spurs/Leicester fighting for Europe. I think Everton will have 1 or 2 more sloppy runs and won't stay that high.

Disgraceful responses in this thread. We are currently the leader and yet you lot are saying City going to win it.

Liverpool / City are the favourites. Will probably be Liverpool. Utd will have to win the "Big games", like the one on Sunday, if they are to have any chance.

Think City Liverpool then us Leicester will make top 4. We seem to have lost the knack of scoring well since Leicester. Pogba was a good volley, but it took a deflection that decieved the goalie. Wanderers was the same and a dodgy pen against the Villa. We need to pick the scoring rate up to have any chance of winning the league.

City is the team we must beat to the title. As for Liverpool I have a feeling it will be the season where Klopp has a massive meltdown and Liverpool will finish below Everton.

We could still easily drop out of top 4 in a few games. So, take 1 game at a time.

We need Rashford, Martial, Cavani and Greenwood to be more clinical and hit top form for us to go all the way.

City is the favourite. Liverpool and us close second.

We've been grinding out results without playing all that well which is both concerning and encouraging if you know what I mean.

Would be great if we could go on one of those spells we've had under Ole, where it looks like everything just clicks. Starting on Sunday please.

City or Liverpool.

Ole has done a brilliant job. He's getting everything right. But we're bound to suffer a dip in form at some point and I don't think we have the experience to get the job done.
