Matic, Pogba, De Gea, Cavani,

We have the experience to win a Title, in the team aswell as the staff.

Regardless of that we won’t win it unless our forwards hit some form especially Greenwood and Martial.

Given the variables I truly believe it’s a toss up between Liverpool and City. They are joint favourites.

Ignore Liverpool’s recent form, Jota will come back and the front line are too good too be kept out for too long. I think the fact Liverpool are still in touching distance and reportedly in a slump is positive for them.

I think the point about Matic is a great one I think he could be huge for us between now and the end of the season, they'll still be games where Fred and McTominay may be the way to go but then they'll be games where Matic could be vital (like he was against Burnley)

Especially once the EL starts up again Ole is going to have to manage the squad

Obviously United.

Un-bias though: probably Man City, they've actually sorted their defense out and as soon as Aguero is back they're only going to be scoring more.

Didn't think City would be close to first at the start of the season but their defence has improved massively of late. I think they just might do it.

Liverpool have to get their defenders back ASAP. Their forwards are just on a blip and i'm sure they'll pick up again.
I wouldn't read too much into Leicester. Their collapse last season was ridiculous although injuries played a part.
As for United, i'm not sure I trust us to not burn ourselves out with fatigue. Consistency has been excellent but you just feel a dip is around the corner somewhere. Top 4 is very doable though.

I don't think I've ever seen it this open in the league at the halfway point. Am I imagining that? It'll be mad if there are still 4/5 teams this close when it gets to 30 or so games.

City or Liverpool. We will battle for 3rd with Spurs and Leicester plus I still think Chelsea and Asrenal will be up there.

The league is so open that anyone has a chance, City, Us, Pool, Spurs probably one of the four.
Also Leicester and Everton have a good shout at top 4.
Chelsea and Arsenal are big IF's for the top 4 as they need a string of good results.
It is truly a mad season.

Dunno what to think after today's games, on another day City drop points but then on another day they absolutely batter Villa. One things for sure though that win is like so many we saw from them in 17/18

Annoying how they've come from no where, there were times earlier on it really did look like the end for Pep and this side but they've somehow got themselves into this position. Like I said annoying

City probably. Not giving up hope yet though. Just feel they have the edge. The fact they they have seemingly become impenetrable at the back is irritating.

I still think City. Nice to be in the mix, though - first time in eight years, which is far too long.

City.
They have it all. Dias doing the biz at the back, they don't concede many and they have no problems scoring.
Fancy us to give them a run but finish 2nd.

No idea. The gap between first and seventh is only 8 points. It's a crazy season and 3 or so bad results could see a potential contender slip out of top four. City and Chelsea were mentioned as contenders not long ago, and 7 odd weeks ago people thought Liverpool would run away with it. Liverpool are now fourth. Crazy season.

If City got Haaland they would be very difficult to stop, if not impossible. They fall over themselves missing chances at times. Tonight's game against Villa was not an isolated incident. The fact they don't have an absolute goal machine up top is what is keeping the title race a contest for the moment.

Klopp, Rodgers, and agent Mourinho to help us out this season.

Ultimately though, it's in our own hands - even if we are only halfway.

I think an absolute goal machine would benefit a few teams in the running, not least ourselves.

It's a useful thing to have indeed. :D City though they create stacks of golden opportunities, whereas we and Liverpool are nowhere near that level of creativity right now. City players were literally falling and stepping over tap ins tonight.

I certainly wouldn't say no to a goal machine though at United, whenever we can get a deal done on one.

Who knows at this point. City are the form team, and given recent history should be the favourites.

We’re doing well to keep pace at the moment, especially when I think several of our key players are out of sorts. If they pick up then who knows what we could do.

Pool look lethargic at the moment. But again, if this is there rough patch then they’re keeping up quite well.

Spurs, nah. Negative Mourinho will cost them too many points.

Leicester will probably fall away too.

Saying all that, all it could take for a team to be out the running would be a Covid outbreak. Or a league shutdown for a bit to disrupt form. We know how good we can be after a break!

Its wide open. If we can find a fit Aguero I think we have a strong chance, if we don't we could leave the door open for United or Liverpool.

What we are missing is exactly what Cavani did today, someone to score a scrappy one from 3 yards when the chips are down. We don't have that at the minute and if Kun can't find fitness likely won't for the season.
If Aguero finds fitness City by 5 or 6 points, if he doesnt' its going to the wire with 3 or 4 teams.

City have conceded 13 goals all season. It’s theirs to lose.

but crazier things have happened and we have to try!

Apparently Aguero will be back soon. He's not too shabby.

Which of our key players are out of sorts in your opinion?

If we got Haaland we wouldn't be half bad either.

City and Liverpool are still the favorites and the teams I would expect to win it, then I see Manchester United Tottenham and Chelsea fighting for the remaining top 4 spots.

Man City - if they had a striker fit and scoring they’d be easy favourites. Their defence looks solid now and they have back up for all over the pitch, except striker. Aguero is never fit and Jesus rarely scores

Liverpool - defence is all over the place and being held together impressively by Fabinho. They may have struck gold as Fabinho and Van Dijk would be a formidable partnership. I’ve said for a while now, that Salah and Mane are so important to their goal output. If one underperforms, the other steps up. But always asked, what happens when they are both off form? Now we are finally seeing it and they cannot score.

Man Utd - Defensively all over the place initially but it is looking more assured recently. Even Lindelof has been good. Going forward though, very inconsistent. If the likes of Rashford and Martial can somehow become consistent, they have a real chance of challenging. Cavani is a game changer though.

Leicester - definitely challengers if they keep their 14/15 players fit. A really good base with an excellent style to suit their players.

Chelsea. We won’t challenge top 4 with Lampard at the helm. He done well last season and gave us hope but now the pressure is on he cannot handle it. Really poor.

Spurs - It’s difficult to write them off due to Mourinho, Son, Kane and NDombele. I think their defence is there to be exploited.

Arsenal - Like Chelsea, won’t win the league or challenge top 4.

Rashford & Martial mainly. Wouldn’t class him as key but given he’s about the only player that looks semi-comfortable out on the right, Greenwood makes that list IMO too.

Bruno has had a quiet/poor by his standards few games too.
Agree about Rashford. Not sure about Martial. Greenwood is still a kid, he's bound to have a few poor spells.
I think Bruno could do with sitting out a game or two.
