Yeah it's interesting

Napkin math
Say league began 92, so, 28 years
38*28=1064

Any team that has stayed in PL since inception has played ~1064 games

94 is a very small count, but not surprising I guess
Aye, it seems fair enough when the amount of games are listed out like that (roughly). Works out around 3.5 games per season. Still sounds low when you put it like that as I would have guessed we come back 5 to 6 times a season.

First and foremost, great 3 points, that is all that matters.

I do think Ole is riding his luck at the moment. We cannot seem to kill a game, really late subs, he keeps his favourites on the pitch and some of the players forms are a real worry.

This game was well suited to Donny, small pitch, tight spaces, he has the ability to carve open with a smart pass. I really cannot wait until he gets a fair run in this team.

Considering all of the above, it is amazing that we can now pointlessly complain after a game, despite winning. What a difference 3 months has made.

Back on top that's all that matters tonight. What a goal to win that match. Would be typical of Baillys bad luck if he had scored an OG late on.

Credit to Fulham, a well organised outfit under Parker, easy to see why they got results over Leicester, Spurs and Liverpool recently.
Anguissa and Lookman were quality for them.

It wasn't always pretty but a good comeback win against a tough opponent in a gale. We were on top for most of the game and really should have put it to bed earlier. Think we would have been desperately unlucky to concede at the end.

Top of the league at halfway is way beyond my expectations for this season. It's brilliant.

I was a surprised to see Bruno start this one, but Ole definitely got that one right because Fulham were all over us. I think Bruno and Cavani challenge the others in the team to exert every last bit of energy, such great examples of being relentless.

Pogba's goal was filthy, it was so beautiful.

Wondering what Donny did wrong. Must be something off field because I think he's performed well enough when he's been called on. Could have used him in the 75th or so minute when we looked gassed and needed to keep calm.

Wasn't a great game in terms of quality, not at all from both sides. Pogba and Cavani were the difference. Fulham could have won, deserved at least point, but they haven't any decent goalscorers. Cavani plays for them and they win.

Pogba is a Rolls Royce in this form. He's just got more to all elements of the game than others. Brilliant.

Shaw is playing better, signing another left back has made him wake up...a bit.

Martial should be sold in the summer. And I feel sorry for Donny VDB.

Can't see us staying where we are, we are too dependant on individual moments of inspiration, and much of our general play is average, and sometimes we look so, so, open... Who coaches us?? Because it seems we just rely on players, Bruno, Rashford, Pogba now...to just sort things out.

I'm still not entirely sure how that deflection at the end didn't go in.

As soon as that hits Bailly out looks for all the world like it should end up in the back of the net

Too much space between them though. Could drive a truck through the gap. Poor communication all round. All starts with Harry getting attracted towards the ball. Then Bailly fails to close the gap. Then AWB goes asleep.

Not vintage but considering the conditions (Wind and very wet) was understandable. Do feel abit more directness was needed given these conditions though so dont understand why Rashford wasn't brought on earlier. Really starting to lose patience with Martial though he offered so little. Mason wasnt on it either but he's much younger and still finding himself in only his second full season in the first team.
So strange atm though, seems like the team isnt all the cohesive as a unit but everyfew matches we have a different player (ie. Rashford, Bailey, Pogba) step up and be counted and get us over the line which is a plus.
MOTM toss up between Shaw and Cavani for me.

Real grind, these results were not happening last year. We are holding out when we crumbled, keep momentum going. Having moments at the end in our favour.

First of all you got to say Fulham have improved no end over the last few weeks and to once again come back and win again is showing the tough mentality that has grown over the last few weeks for Utd. The game itself wasnt anything special apart from Pogbas goal. Still in the past we have won titles playing like this.

To be honest, Fulham is not a team easy to beat. We scored two goals from open play. The issue is really that we conceded a goal in that fashion. It’s like in away games, we are always sleepy at the beginning and can only be woken up by conceding goals first.

That dodgy back pass from Bailly nearly killed me.
I remember that. Then through the camera, I saw Bailly’s face full of innocence and confusion.
Other than that, he’s done really well especially going over the line for duels.

You're giving Fulham far too much credit. Look at the table for Christ's sake.

Important win and fantastic strike by Pogba, but...is this how every game is going to be this season, a heart attack waiting to happen?
The tension in every game going forward will be elevated more -- simply because we are trying to hold on to the top of the league. Every mistake, every miss, every foul..... every goal will be felt at a higher level now.

There is something at stake now -- and long may this sensation continue.

Not sure how we keep winning games and playing shit.

Our wide play is just non existent, we are very hit and miss and it shows against good teams.

I know it is normal for Ole to go grey with all the pressures he is going through. I am just wondering how many united supporters are turning aswell. After nearly every game I feel exhausted. After to nights game can we start scoring goals a bit earlier so we can sit back and enjoy an easy win.

First 15 and last 15 were very dodgy from us, but I think between that we controlled the game and looked the better side by miles. We could do with a bit more chance creation and sone finishing (goes without saying these days) but we did what we had to do to win. We need to start and finish games much better though.

Big 3 points though, the conditions weren't the best but we pulled it out.

Pogba worked his tail off today. Motm, even without the goal.

Bruno needs a rest

Shaw was useless. Not a single quality delivery. He is not as good as he thinks he is. Decent performance against Liverpool and he thinks he is Cafu now. Dude keep it simple and make one assist. Just one.

Fred helped a lot in midfield with his energy.

Cavaniiii is what we need. Martial is not.

I wish Ole played Greenwood instead. Oh wait.

De Gea should have saved that.

We had a chance to score 3rd from Cavaniiii. Unlucky. Small pitch tight spaces but we still found two goals.

When are we gonna score from a corner.

Yeah the luck went in our favour tonight but went against us late on in the Leicester game so it's swings and roundabouts

Phew! We're safe, wink wink. Now let's push on. Anything is possible. Feels like ages ago I wrote 'we're on a run' in some post match thread, and that run is still going. Very well done Ole and the boys. Viva United!

Martial should be nowhere near the starting XI. A player like Shaw starts to perform when a new signing challenges him, Martial just continues to fade away and not care.

Martial and Shaw were really out of sync today, plenty of good opportunities if they would have followed through the run for eachother.

Fulham have been dodgy and a tough opponent lately. Drawing with Spurs and keeping Chelsea at bay with 10 men is no small feat. I’ll take that 3 points. Sometimes you need the luck where you play average but get that 3 points because we all know we’ve been in situations where we’ve played good and dropped points

I thought Ole nearly lost us the points. I don’t get why we absolutely have to make subs after the 80 min. We needed fresh men on the pitch, but yet he did nothing.

Great win, still top of the table. But Ole need to think smarter in his in game management.
