With KDB it's always like this. First they say two weeks, four weeks but in reality you have to double it so this doesn't really surprise me. Definitely don't expect him back before 5-10 March. And it was coming, let's be honest. City didn't replace D Silva so De Bruyne played 90 mins basically every three days.

I was hoping they would take points of Liverpool when they play each other. The way Liverpool are playing they still could without him, still hopeful for a draw

Yeah, this is a plus for us, as crass as that is. They’re already without Aguero (which they’ve coped well with) and they don’t have Silva to carry the creative responsibility in De Bruyne’s absence anymore either. With that said, it could be the making of someone like Foden.

Bernardo improved quite a bit in last 3-4 weeks so hopefully him and Foden can do well in that 8/10 position. However, I'm more worried about Mahrez starting games now.
Is that so bad? Always seems to make things happen when I’ve seen him, don’t watch too many city games to be honest though

Its happened at an ok time for them you'd have to say, I think they'll be fine without him due to their fixtures being piss easy for the next few games.
depends how quickly he can come back, some nasty games coming up

West Brom away
Sheffield home and then
Burnley away
Liverpool away
Spurs home
Arsenal away 21/02

Yeah I made that post when it was being reported that he'd only be out for 2-3 weeks, if its 6 weeks thats a massive difference.

Would never want another human injured (unless they're a really terrible individual) but this is an opportunity, especially considering Vardy's just had hip surgery.

I seriously pray our boys stay fit!

Sucks for him and city, but definitely good news for us. Though as good as he is, their squad is still frighteningly good enough to cope IMO.

My guess is its just the 4 weeks and hes back in time for the CL.
Would miss:
  1. Fa cup round 4
  2. West brom (a)
  3. Sheffield utd (h)
  4. Burnley (a)
  5. Liverpool (a)
  6. Fa cup round 5
  7. Spurs (h)
  8. Arsenal (h)
Monchengladbach away midweek, West Ham home weekend, then United home weekend would be the games that would be touch and go if it lasts 6 weeks. 3 big games there. Hopefully their next FA cup draw is a hard one too. Don't think it impacts them for the next 3-4 games though. Burnley might be a sticking point i guess.

Vardy out for a hernia operation as well.
Not wishing injury on anybody but is God trying to force us to win the league if we want to or not?

This is exactly the reason we need to rest/Rotate Bruno for a few games. If he has to miss a game then who is tried as our 10, Donny, Mata, Pogba?

We need to be in a similar situation to City where if our main talisman is out injured (please mo) we do have a Plan B, Plan C etc.

It is going to be a long old season!
Agree with this. Also if you rest him a bit more often you also obviously reduce the chance that he will get injured/burnt out. We've already knackered Rashford, let's try not to do the same with our other attacking outlet too.

In past seasons they have given estimates of how long he's gonna be out for. For some reason he always seems to take longer to come back. Sadly, I think it will be early March before he is back playing again.

You think Liverpool are more of a threat than City? I'm hoping for a City loss there...

I do not wish injury on any player even if they play for our fiercest rivals , however, De Bruyne getting injured is good news for any other club in the title chase whether you want to admit it or not, he's the catalyst for City and without him there a lot less of a force , he makes things happen.

Don't want to take joy in footballer's being injured but this could benefit us greatly.

We just need to avoid Bruno getting injured.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

It is, they have lots of good players but noone like him.

(Vardy out too)

I've never quite got the "Not wishing injury on anyone" stuff. Don't get me wrong I understand it with career ending ones etc but an injured hamstring and not playing for a few weeks isn't the end of the world, pretty happy it's happened myself. Increases our chances or pushing ahead of them massively he's by far their most important player.

Agree with others re Bruno he does need resting, ideal chance is probably the Sheff Utd game, we have a decent run of fixtures in Feb with Europa League and few of the relegation candidates (Newcastle, West Brom, Chelsea) but that's still a way off.

Any chance that Ole remembers we bought a player for that very position to take the load off Bruno?
But seriously, hope Bruno is given a rest tomorrow, he looked absolutely knackered against Fulham.

This season's champions might well be the one that has the least injuries.

He'll be a loss, but it's a testament to the City squad that they'll probably cope fine without him. Probably see more of Sterling on the left, Mahrez on the right, and Jesus up front.

Bernardo Silva and Foden will probably fill the gap, so not too shabby replacements there. Still, if ever there was a season for things to fall nicely into place for us, it's now.

I was reading about the De Bruyne injury this morning, and inside my head I thought, "Just need Vardy to get an injury now and the title is ours!"

And bloody hell, Vardy is out to have a hernia operation.

Does anyone have any requests that they want me to bring to life, I seem to have the gift!

City are stacked in the attacking positions with Silva, Foden, Mahrez and even Sterling, who can all play that role to decent effect.
