Why would Pogba want to leave United now?

crack on report me.

perhaps we can then get the thread back on topic and move on. Seems you’ve spent enough time typing in here today. I have
Agreed.

Btw, I don’t report I retort. Just find it enlightening what hills of morality posters die on in choice of others - your post certainly didn’t offend me.

I think if we maintain this title challenge, he'll definitely think of staying. Real and Barca are the only 2 clubs that would actually pose a good challenge for him, but both clubs are rebuilding and he'd be under 10 times the pressure he's under now at united, not the right timing at all.

He makes good money here, but bottom line is, he wasn't happy, he wasn't playing well, and we weren't challenging. Right now united is an exciting prospect for top players imo. I think there's a good chance he'll change his mind.

@Leroy The Red

I saw your post started with going over old ground & I couldn’t agree more. I also saw more paragraphs than I care to dissect. We’re both hitting the same points each post & we’re getting nowhere slowly. We’ve gone from ‘literally one’ to ‘those that respond more than one line’ yet the goalposts apparently remain the same. . .

I’d say the below statement is rather insulting but then it doesn’t reflect the echo chamber that is the Utopia of RedCafe. . .

Maybe I’ll start using the report button when my memes don’t hit.

But lesson learnt, on RaceCaf you must be sure to wait for racisms spot in the queue as apparently him saying it first was the issue after all. . .

Do have a blessed evening.
Christ, that’s what you took from that. Spit the dummy out if you want but like I said there’s a reason you got warned, maybe self reflect a bit.
If you continue this approach elsewhere on here I’d say expect the same results.

On his own? Did you think we signed Superman?
He is not even in our top three performers, recent form is good so let us see if he can keep it up and make a significant contribution to this club winning trophies.

It’s a forum lad, settle yourself. I’ve had 2 warnings on this forum both in Pogba threads; this isn’t new to me.

Once again. . .
Do have a blessed evening.

Exactly he went from playing with Pirlo, Vidal, Dybala etc to Lingard, Perriera and Fellaini yet his stats are almost the exact same at United they were with Juventus.

So we got what we paid for we just failed to give him the players around him to win

You are all forgetting Pogba‘s contract is expired in 2022, on 290k and we are dealing with Raiola. Raiola will use this as advantage by telling United to give Pogba the highest paid and big agent fees. Unless if you want United to do that then Pogba will leave. Raiola is the reason why, which is why he left in 2012.

Alternatively Pogba left in 2012 because he thought he was ready to start and wasn't being given the opportunity. The fact he immediately walked into the Juventus midfield (despite it being better than our own at the time) says he was likely right.

I remember the wages was the main issue because Raiola asked for the same paid as Rafael da Silva or something basically breaking the wages structure of the club for the player who just got promoted to first team squad. Technically a wages that is in the same category of the first team player so at the same time also asking to be played more if you get such a wages. End of the day, the agent is the main issue and that’s why sir Alex called Raiola s***bag.

What I always said about Pogba is that he is the last piece of the puzzle not the first. We bought him for 90m so pundits and fans expected goals and assists every game so when he didn’t do that they jumped on him.

As you touched on he is the last piece to making a already great team better but he surely isn’t a player that will carry the likes of Lingard, Perriera over the line. He also seemed like he wanted/needed to do everything and when we signed Bruno he started to play the right passes instead of trying to beat 3-4 players or shoot from 30-35 yards.
I always found it funny how the sky pundits would criticise him all the time and leave the likes of Lingard

Obviously Raiola is going to push things to try to get the best deal for his client, but at the end of the day Pogba is the one making the decision. If we'd agreed to pay him the same we were paying Rafael (no idea if that's true) he might have taken that as a sign we were going to start giving him constant games and stayed around, but it would have been for the games not the money.

It simply comes down to this - would Pogba have stayed if he'd had a different agent than Raiola? I highly doubt it. So I'm not going to blame Raiola for it, even if he likely was more obnoxious than needed.

Agent can give influence to player‘s decision. Pogba was leaving everything to his agent and his agent is using the situation to get the best deal. Did I say it was his only reason? No. Do I think it was the main reason? Yes.

So you think the backlash would be just as nasty if he was a white man? I’m not saying him being black is the only reason, but I think it contributes, absolutely.
There has definitely been racism towards Lewis Hamilton so it would make sense that Pogba gets a bit of the same. Though I think there has been frustration with 'brand Pogba' when results werent great and former players like Keane wanted a true leader on the pitch. I have been both a supporter of Pogba when the knives have been out and utterly frustrated by him (losing the ball consecutively 3 times in under a minute in our half, appalling for a top class player). He has certainly deserved his criticism at times for his performances, his maturity, his courtship of other clubs, the behaviour of his agent.

Exhausting thread, this just hope the football continues on the pitch. In everyone's interest. Fans have no loyalty, are as good as his last performance unfortunately.

The feck does his race have to do with anything?

If we don't win anything this season, however bright the future looks that's another trophyless season for Pogba. I think he really wants to win a big trophy considering he only gets older.

And that's fine. However, in fairness, the way his agent created so much problem for the club also deserve big criticms, that is also fine. No idea what makes people think it's amplified by skin colours. I know if he's ever reached the consistency he'd shown at Juve with United, most posters would be worshipping him. So it has nothing to do with skin colours.

I think he’s gone whatever happens in the next few months. If we somehow happen to win the league, it just means his own personal brand will be even more valuable. Real Madrid are due an almighty splurge in new galacticos so they would be the favs to sign him but PSG and Juve are also possibilities.

Regarding Pogba I wouldn't worry too much about fan's abuse. Serie A fans (and Juventus fans in particular) are far more critical then we are. The only abuse that must have hit home was that coming from managers (ex Mou) and legends. Its one thing having the typical half drunk middle aged fan criticising you on a forum or at the pub and its another having a living legend like Scholes throwing abuse at him on Sky.

I have defended Pogba many many times however I think its time for him to go. The way he plays doesn't really suit us, he isn't committed to us and if he stays then it will be all about money. A committed player wouldn't have allowed his agent to say those silly stuff. There again, a committed player wouldn't hire Mino Raiola as agent in the first place. Mino's speciality is to extract as much money out of clubs as possible which usually lead to players moving from one club to another. For a committed player to hire Mino as his agent would be like Sir Alex hiring RVN only to ask him to drop deep and focus only on winning the ball.

He was supposed to be a player that enabled a club to challenge for major honours
He was never bought to be a one man team, never has been for any club he's played for. He's never carried a team like that.

Pogba has been a victim of people buying into a version of the player that never existed, ignorance that he was this one man show that could take us back to the top, when anyone who watched him at Juventus knows that while he was great, his supporting cast were great too. Not saying Pogba's been faultless in his time here, far from it, but the expectations were never fair from day one.

Maybe Ole has motivated Pogba “what about leaving United on top with a smile, perhaps with a title”? It’s a win win for United and Pogba. We get more money and Pogba becomes more attractive.

I think RM is the only alternative. Pogba wants to test himself at a “bigger club” and RM need reinforcement. They are a good match.

I hope Pogba stays, but I think the summer window is the perfect timing for Pogba to move on. If United and Pogba is able to complete this season on current track, I think we can expect 50-70m for Pogba.

We should also consider money + Casemiro or Valverde.

The best we can hope for is that he wants to stay then hopefully we can get a higher fee in the summer.

It works for both us and Pogba, he plays well may win a trophy, we get a higher fee.

You make it sound like he's Ander Herrera type of player. He was bought to be a game - changer for us. Not necessarily since 1st game or even season, but he was given a huge contract because of his potential which he never reached, and that's why we should sell him. No hard feelings really, as one of his biggest critics I don't consider Pogba to be a "fail" here, it just didn't work out for various reasons.

I wonder if people who watched him regularly think he improved since leaving Juventus.

Going back to OP, lose today and it's only EPL race for us, where we are not considered as favourites so I don't see if much has changed for Pogba really.

Fair enough but we were buying a young man for a huge fee with supposedly huge potential so we were expecting a player to grow into a better version than the Juventus one ( Bryan Robson grew into the monster he became in his time at Utd) and we just did not get that with him.
I am over it anyway; If he wants to leave then all I say is respect the shirt and his teammates in the time he has left at the club.

Culture and the weather probably the answer to threat title, Paris, Turin, Barcelona, Madrid, maybe Even London lifestyle. Nothing specifically to do with Utd I would think, or that is likely to only be a part of it. Need to ask Mrs Pogba where she wants to live?

Slightly similar situation we had with Morata, No coincidence he's gone back to Italy ultimately.

Interesting that nobody seems to consider what Ole’s role is in Pogba’ future at United.

Will it be decided by Ed and Matt on the one side and Mino and Paul on the other? Will Ole stay silent throughout, or will he be allowed to express an opinion; maybe even be allowed to influence the outcome?

My impression is that Ole really likes Pogba, but isn’t so overawed that he’s incapable of dropping him. I might be completely wrong, but I’d be surprised if he wasn’t keen to keep him and encourage the Club to renew his contract.

People thinking Raiola tries to move on players without their will is being fooled.

Raiola is a big cnut, but every report suggest he's doing everything he can for his players to be happy and wealthy. Either Pogba wants to leave or willing to stay if he gets even more money. Not sure he's worth the latter

So many people buying their heads in the sand and denying responsibility but the truth is if Pogba wants away the main reason will be how the club's own fans treated him and behaved.

PSG & Juve will offer him a major trophy every season along with CL knockout football every year.

We can't offer that, yet.

Nonsense. The two priorities are trophies and money.

He can get both at 1-2 clubs, he can't yet get that here.

this is dumb. how the hell is one player going to "enable" a club to challenge for major honours? The biggest and most consistent players in the world have best in class supporting cast.

This sums it up. We’re doing well at the minute sure - but we’re not that level yet
