Yeah its very enjoyable and less frustrating than Dark Souls (at least so far). Plus quite like the parry mechanism and that you can get your health back in a limited time window.

Still dont understand how bloodtinge and arcane work

There's not much to understand about them. There are weapons that scale with Bloodtinge - including most off-hand firearms - and Arcane, and there are items with Arcane scaling that allow you to basically cast spells.

That's about it. On a first playthrough, I think the best way is to stick to Strength or Skill, then experiment with other builds in subsequent playthroughs when you're more familiar with the combat and the bosses.

There are spells in Bloodborne?

Yeah I'd say don't bother with spells in a first playthrough. Also don't put any points in increasing you gun damage. Unless you're going for very specific builds, and you won't in a first playthrough, it's a complete waste.

Where do I find the boss in the area where snake orgies are happening. And any shortcut to it to avoid disturbing the snake orgies?
After the windmill building (I think that's what it was) Immediately after you cross the bridge with the snake-headed enemy on it, take a right and there should a elevator.

Cheers for this. Also the windmill itself had another exit after killing the snake-headed enemy but that device wasnt operational. But this helps at least don't have to go through the entire village of hunters again. Still can't find the Boss in the area where the snake orgies are happening.

I picked this up in the last few months and played it to completion. It's such a great game I vowed to play and beat the other fromsoftware games!

We're a glutton for punishment.

Keep going downhill. I remember being confused in that area too, even on a second play through, but progression is all downhill.

There should be a second shortcut in that area if I remember right.

I have over 300 hours on Bloodborne, got the platinum on it - and in the Forbidden Woods I still just wander around aimlessly until I find the way.

They love to throw a Blighttown in every game and this ticks all the boxes. Big and easy to get lost, swamp, poison and just a general pain in the arse.

You deserve it, suicidal hunter. Why on Earth would you simply submit, give up your life? If it were up to you, we'd still be a single cell organism.

Playing this after completing the Souls trilogy and i'm enjoying it so far but man, does it kick your ass at times. I also missed the first boss completely (didn't like those damn wolves on the bridge so I avoided them) and fought Father Gascoigne as my first boss. Surprisingly beat him in one try.

It's funny to me how these games seem so huge and overwhelming at times when they're the opposite of the big open world maps that are so popular these days. The level design and the shortcuts in the map are always really impressive.

Yeah, Bloodborne is brutal the first few hours.

Killing Gascoine in your first ever try is quite a feat by the way, I remember having to adjust to not being passive like you nostly have to be against Souls bosses.

I just think that was the Souls training coming to the fore. I just kept out of his way and kept sneaking little attacks in here and there...it was not a graceful or particularly competent victory :D The wolf on the bridge gave me more trouble.

If it was on the first try then it was both of those things. He's a brutal early roadblock, especially if you haven't even levelled the character at all.

I had some trouble with Gascoigne the first time I played this game. He's so aggressive. If people haven't played it already, I'd recommend the DLC. It's great, but it has maybe the most difficult boss I've fought in anyone of these games.

The game seems to be giving me a lot of help with NPC allies near bosses (I'm 99% certain they're not real human players) . They end up dying but I win the battle in usually the first or second attempt. The game is putting them in areas near the boss battles sooooo....I guess it's normal? Is this common or have I triggered something for this to happen?

I'm doing my first chalice dungeon and have died twice to the giant boss but i'm pretty confident I can beat him. Was too defensive on the first attempt and on the second I ran out of blood vials.

Nah its pretty normal in Soulsborne games. In Bloodborne you use up 1 insight every time you call an Old Hunter.

Near the end of the game. Should I try and access and complete the DLC before taking on the final boss(es)? Also have barely done any of the chalice dungeons and i'm wondering if it might be best to do them now.

I've enjoyed the game but I think I enjoyed my time with the Dark Souls series more. Having to farm/buy blood vials is really tedious and two of the areas I've been in have been absolutely ridiculous in terms of hiding those damn bell ringing women so that enemies constantly respawn  Not cool. The skeletons in DS1 were not as bad as this.

Do the DLC before the final boss if you don't want a harder challenge. After the final boss, you'll be forcibly taken to NG+ and will have beat the DLC on that difficulty.

Thanks, I might just do it all in one run. When i finish the game I probably won't replay it for while or go for the platinum yet.

It took me about 7 attempts to finally beat Micolash. I'm kinda fatiguing here.

Finally killed Shadows of Yharnam during the HT break must have lost over 100K Blood Echoes in the run to the boss and sometimes dying before reaching the boss. I did ring the bell and took help but after umpteen attempts just gave in and called in the Madaras Twin.

Those are motherfeckers, killed me lots of times. Once you figure out their weaknesses and order to attack them in they become much easier.

Edit: Just seen how you managed to do it, WTF    how did that work

Thats not me

I used an insight and called the Younger Madaras Twin and also used my Beckoning Bell. If I was using help might as well make it 3v3 and leave no doubt about the result.

Re the Gif: I dont even know what weapon is that

I've seen that weapon in a few gifs. Thought it looked cool but didn't know what it was.

Look at the health/endurance bar on that character. Insane.

I'm up to Old Yharnam.

When I entered Oedon chapel for the first time, I killed the dweller straight away. Only just found out he was a good guy and now I won't be able to divert NPCs there

The gatling gun hunter in OY is a bitch. Such a tank.

I thought you had already played and finished the game.

I know that guy you are talking about. I tried killing him but he was too OP for me at that stage. Anyways, I wouldn't bother killing him right away. Instead continue on further in Old Yharnam and ultimately you can open a shortcut to reach him without him seeing you first. This way you can talk to him as he won't be immediately hostile towards you.

Nah, started not long ago. Was trying to look for the BSB. I think it is in that region but not sure exactly where and don't want to look it up first.

I needed help with every boss bar the 1st.

I'm a fraud but sure felt good clocking the game.
You still had to get to each boss which is hard enough

Funnily enough I used summons for most Dark Souls games for some bosses but I somehow manged to get through BLoodborne without help untill I went for the platinum in the Chalice Dungeons optional area
