He’s so good. There’s gonna be some inconsistency in his game for a few years yet but I’m along for the ride!
Is he still only 23 ? Wow, we have an amazing player on our hands. Today shows he should only play LW or CF the others need to fit around him.
Not sure if being sarcastic but I was arguing we SHOULDN'T be playing him on the right!
Makes no sense as on form he's our best player outside of Fernandes. He's terrorised the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool, City and Chelsea almost on his own when he's played well.
Why the feck you would take that out of your armour just to shoe horn someone else into his position is beyond me. Hopefully today puts that sillyness to bed.
If he finds more consistency or learns to still be effective when not playing well he'll end up a level above someone like Salah, and even if he gets to the same sort of level as Salah that'll more than do for me.
He's a big game player. How many goals has he scored against top 6 teams?

His best game in ages. Probably our best game attacking wise in quite a while. Hopefully we can go and build on it. A few of our other attacking players look like they are coming into better form at the perfect time of the season. nobody is looking forward to facing us anymore. We owe a team a trouncing and it could well be in the next match.
Any idea the scope of his injury?
Played well today. He needs to rest for the midweek game and come back for the weekend game while fully rested.
Seemed non contact as well which is worrying.
That little flick he did over TAA after he managed to control the flight of a difficult ball

Rashford got 34 G/A in 44 apps last season which is on average 0.77 per game. He’s already beaten 23 y/o Rooney at 22 and is on track to potentially beat his own record which is all we can hope for at this stage.

Yep. Rashford got 34 in 44 (0.77 per game) last season. Rooney got 32 in 44 (0.73 per game) in 07/08. Rashford did score seven penalties at the start of last season though, so it is great to see him improve his productivity this season, even though is no longer first choice on penalties.
Rooney's best seasons for us were when he turned 26 in 11/12 getting 43 in 43, and when he turned 28 in 13/14 getting 41 in 40 (1.03 per game). Rooney did get 9 penalties in 11/12 and 3 in 13/14, which brings those numbers down a little. Rashford this season is therefore just behind the pace of Rooney's second most productive season for us in terms of non-penalty goal contributions.

Looked phenomenal for us yesterday. His quality of passing is what can cause exasperation among many fans because he is an exceptional passer so it's always great to see him use it. Is starting to develop an aura about him that reminds me of some of the PL's best, like Henry and currently Son, which absolutely terrifies defenders with good reason. Apart from heading, which, let's face it, is awful he is a very complete player. Hope injury is not too bad. If he plays like that the rest of the season and Bruno and Pogba maintain their form it's a pretty good shot at the title. Exciting
He is generally better on the left, but he has played well on the right in the past and has had plenty of poor games on the left this season. As such I don't think this was simply moving him back to the left although it may have helped.
A lot seem to be forgetting that we played in a manner where he was allowed all the freedom in the world to attack the left today. Ole must have said to him don’t bother with Trent just let him go. Therefore everytime we broke he had acres to work with. He did his thing when he got the ball and took full advantage of it and played really well. However he isn’t going to have that space normally to do that.
Put him on the right today and the same thing would have happened as Greenwood too was allowed a lot of freedom even if he did a bit more tracking back and helping Bissaka.
Just have to see how the club keeps progressing but pretty sure he’ll be back out on the right pretty soon.
It was just great to see him passing for a change instead of the usual drive in and shoot. Not even talking about the cross field to Greenwood for the goal. He I felt just used the ball way better for me than he normally does. Long may that continue.

The scan had to be completed by now, they certainly won't be doing it during the night. I hope this means it is nothing serious

I have to laugh at this place sometimes. He's been heavily criticized this past weeks and after one MotM display he's back to being "he's so good ". Reality is that he's a wonderful footballer at times but lack the consistency to be top notch. Mainly his bottom level, where he plays like a pedestrian in some games, needs to be erased from his game before he's at the very top. We are indeed very lucky to have him though, his ceiling is extremely high.

When he's in the mood though, the combination of his direct running and his ability to make a pass makes him so deadly.
I'd love if he played like that more often to be honest, he was so direct and just went for it, absolutely scared them stiff.
It's definitely the consistency that is the last thing of the puzzle he needs to add to become a worldclass player. He has a world class performance all 5 or 6 games and then could easily have a few stinkers before he has the next top performance. (in some of them he nervertheless produces)

Sometimes the style of play suits him and the things he tries come off and he grows in confindence during a game, as we saw on saturday. Then it is a joy to watch. But there are also games in which the style of play of the opposition doesn't suit him or the things he tries doesn't work and he gets a bit frustrated and passive. But even in this situations, he is capable of producing a moment of magic out of nothing, despite playing bad the rest of the time.
I think we as a fanbase have to show more patient with him and support him in trying to find a way to add the last puzzle of more consistant top performances rather than call him shit and this and that after every so lala performance.

He is not better on the left, not significantly at least. It's pretty normal really as he is more accustomed to the left side, but the reason he had a good game vs Liverpool was because he had more space to run into. He still has issues against packed defenses, it makes no difference on which side he plays.
You also need to take under consideration he has Shaw to support on the left and AWB on the right, it makes a difference. Martial is better dribbler from the left and less predictable than Rashford, but he doesn't combine well (with anyone it seems these days).

I think it’s important to respect the fact that Best won the Ballon d’Or at 22 and Edwards was a left-half/defensive midfielder mostly.
