I believe Plymouth is the most populous city to never have a club in the English top flight. Might be wrong on that one. Would love to see Argyle in the Prem some day.
Pretty sure 'Argyle' as a phrase is considered too unsexy for the circus that is the premier league. May have been a stipulation when Sky got on board.

All great attacking players had long hair from when Best grew his until Messi cut his. Since then all flair players have had short hair.

Teams in green kits are automatically banned from the top flight in English football.
Every middle to lower ranking club in the PL had a green away kit last season. This season it’s maroon.

Pogbas winner tonight is the first time that we have scored a winner at that end of Craven Cottage.

Craig Shakespeare works for a different mid-table to relegation threatened club as coach year in year out, and has done since first appearing with Nigel Pearson in 2014-15.

Steve Bruce has been coping with a terrible injury crisis solidly for 20 years

Barcelona has never been involved in a penalty shootout in the entire Champions League era.
That's less of a weird feeling and more of a moderately interesting fact.

And penalty shootouts aren't very common in the CL outside of finals, thanks to the away goals rule.

This, I'm sure Ferguson always lost to a relegated team
Not always relegated sides but Fergie teams would typically have a great run of form ended by a really crap team, especially in the later years.

Wolves in 2011, Blackburn in 2012, Wigan in 2012 and Norwich in 2013 were all memorably shocking losses.

I remember us losing to some crap Norwich side around the mid-2000s. I stormed out the room that day!

Norwich 2004/05 - our first loss in 6 months and they were absolute relegation fodder. Sunderland 2005/06 ended a 9 match winning streak and they were already relegated with a record low points total. I think you're onto something here!

Hell, Derby in 07/08 had chances at their own ground. Foster actually had to make a couple of crucial saves and we ended up winning 1-0 with a late-ish Ronaldo goal but could have dropped points to the uncontested winner of the Worst Premier League Team of All Time™ title.

Players' sense of self-importance increases 200% when they talk with their hands shielding their mouths.

Since the restart last season, there has never been a game with less than 4 minutes injury time in the second half.

In fact, more often than not - it is exactly 4 minutes injury time.

Once the World Cup gets to the quarter-finals, goals can only be scored from set pieces.

When our players start pointing during a game you can guarantee we aren’t winning it

Whenever an attacker is up for being subbed out due to a poor display, their last act of play is creating a dangerous goalscoring chance, leading to a stoppage which allows their substitution to go through.

We can't beat Arsenal anymore when they used to be our biggest bitch.
Arsenal have built up a burning desire not to lose to us and we seem to have become complacent believing that we can walk in and get 3 points.

As long as Arsenal don't improve then it won't be long until we're winning again. Their results against us aren't the norm for them, they can lose to anybody on their day.

Every time a positive stat is spoken by the commentators for a particular team, it is broken in that very game.

Example: Sheffield United haven’t beaten United at Old Trafford since 1973.

As soon as Leicester scored against Leeds, commentators said that Leicester have dropped 0 points from winning positions only for them to equalise immediately.

Game is 1-1 at HT right now. Let’s see how the hypothesis plays out.

Jonjo Shelvey is a scouser with a very thick accent... he’s actually from Romford.

West Ham are portrayed by the media as being a historically big club, similar in size to Newcastle and even Everton... they’ve actually never won the league and have vastly inferior trophy cabinets to clubs like Ipswich, Huddersfield and Preston.

Quite likely it's all to do with 1966, with the captain and the WC Final goalscorers all being Hammers. Pretty sure Alan Ball's cross for the 'Wembley Tor' was the solitary non-West Ham assist even. The quadruple League Cup tie from 71/72 plays a part too.

Every West Ham goal, bar Jesse’s brace last night, is scored by Tomas Soucek. Same for Arsenal with Saka.

Foden scores on every start.

Shaw’s only had a slight improvement this season, he’s always been a Denis Irwin type player - 7.5/10 every single week, which he’s upgraded to 8.5 this season. In other words, he’s always been very underrated and one of the best LBs in the league when fit. Don’t even think this is weird, but it’s very unpopular.
