I always feel sorry for young players that are loaned out so quickly after joining a new club. That’s a lot of readjustment in a short space of time for someone who has only just moved out of his family home.
It's because of this that I think a loan to Spain would be good for him.

Going to on loan to Spain would be better for him as far as settling in off the pitch due to culture/language etc. But going to Brugge would possibly be better for him to experience due to Belgium having a similar climate to ours.

But having said that the most important aspect is game time and he will only get that if he plays well. So choosing a team where the chances of playing are high is gonna be the best choice imo whether that's in Spain or Belgium.

Brugge would be good. Comfortably the best side in Belgium and are in European football. They’ve just lost their starting right winger to Monaco too.

Club Brugge seen to be the favourites due to playing in the Europa League and competing for trophies domestically which appeals to Pellistri according reliable Belgian reports.

There is no harm in him tasting Belgium trophies and EL matches. What is more, participation in EL may also increase his transfer value in case we decide to sell him later

Winning some titles might not be bad psychologically. I would also prefer Brügge, as long as he plays more or less regularly.

Alaves means fight for survival, and maybe they will drop him for experience if things get tough.

Same here. I'll be honest, it always casts doubts in my head over the actual qualify of the player given that we've not had many loanees come back up and become top class or even genuinely good first teamers. But I do hope he develops fast and comes back soon, as there's acclimatisation to English football he'll still need to do.

Football has changed. Their are two type of buys.
Players to improve the first team squad and players you buy to sell on for a profit.
Liverpool and Chelsea have been doing the latter for a few years now.

I think him going on loan so quickly shows that United are impressed with him and have realised he's not going to gain much by staying in the U23s. There's a big physical step up from that level to playing with men in their peak week in week out and it's obvious United think he needs more exposure to that in the next few months so a short loan makes absolute sense for his development.

On the flip side, they have apparently realized he is not ready to play for the first team now

Or that given our current position and form its not really the time to try and break him into the team? Much easier to let someone else do it.

OGS said he will play Diallo soon. It just means that manager thinks Diallo is (almost) ready and may be used in the first team now, when Pellistri is not and will be better off on loan

Not sure what Diallo has to do with it? We know he's a bigger talent so I'm not surprised about that. He's also been playing in Europe alot longer so may acclimatise quicker than Pellistri. It would also be very difficult to try and integrate both into the first team at the same time, especially given we are placed quite well at the moment.

But they are both our newly purchased right wingers who are of the same age. They play the same position, and it just explains how the management regards them compared to each other

I've just explained the likely reason. I mean you don't expect everyone to be at the same point in development at the same age surely? It's as if people are trying to paint a negative slant on this when I just don't see it. It's pretty obvious he's above the level of the reserves and needs exposure to the man's game. Obviously we don't feel ready to give him that yet so it's a no brainer to let him go elsewhere for a few months then re-evaluate in the summer when he can have a preseason with the first team.

Hope he and the club choose Brugges.

Playing football on the front foot and attacking will be way more important than learning how to sit back in a tight formation.

Not generally a fan of loaning young players to teams in a relegation scrap, but excited to see Facundo get some first team games in La Liga.

Looks as if it’s official. He’s posted something on his Instagram story in reference to Alaves.

Wouldnt have sent him there. They are in a relegation fight, if things get tougher, he wont play a lot. They will rely on more experience i guess. Unless he kills it there from the start, which i doubt.

They named 12 players on the bench last night so it's good he is in the squad but they made 4 subs and he wasnt one of them.

They moved up to 15th win the win but only 3 pts above relegation.

Next three matches

away at Barca
away at real sociedad
home to Osasuna

I am rooting for him and have to respect that he wanted to go to Spain but I think management should have really asked him to stay in England for another 6 months of learning the language, culture etc.

Its hard to tell but I think he could have gotten time at a Championship side, or for sure in League 1.

2 matches and so far 0 minutes. Hopefully just the case of slow integration but I would worry if he doesn't feature in the next 2 matches either. Rotting in the bench of some relation threatened team in spain won't do anyone any good.

Made 5 subs and he wasnt one. Was going to be a hard job to save them from relegation alone before, even harder when he isnt on the pitch
