What an attacking force we have with these 3 up front. If they can continue, and start games for us we're going to get goals. Best attacking force in the PL.

Yes, on form Martial has an argument of course, but the problem with that is that you then move Rashford and I think noodle has already covered that, it's stupidity to move Rashford from the left, as we saw again today.

Martial's had enough chances this season now, needs to be benched he don't deserve to be starting ahead of Rashford on the left or Cavani through the middle

Where the grass is greener.
Showed some good awareness and potential between them, even if I feel like Cavani often ends up feeling like a disappointed father at their choices.

Yeah without doubt. Martial needs some time on the sidelines. He’s just not at it this season.

We've tried playing him into form, but it hasn't worked. Need to drop him for a good while I think. At times I think we should sell him completely, but that's for another thread.

Cavani’s work rate and ability of being an actual centre forward should mean he starts our most important games going forward.

The problem with this setup so far this season was that Greenwood added literally nothing when on the pitch. The net benefit of having him there and Rashford in his best position was outweighed by moving Rashford to the right - where he was still decisive - and Martial on the left - where he wasn't great but still contributing.

Greenwood was excellent today. If he keeps this up, it's a no-brainer.

Right now, yes.

I think it's also a matter of the 'Cavani type' which we need. We need a number 9 of his ilk which is why we chased Haaland.

Said this to my stepson when the teams were announced. Looks so good, plus we can slip haaland in there next season to make it even better . He wasn’t listening though , an arsenal fan , more interested in odegaard loan signing. He was worried by the end however, there will be tears next weekend (his)!

Yes! Hope them goals gave them both a huge confidence. Both beautifully take  Then Bruno crossing to that bullet header from Cavani!

Exciting times!

Pretty sure he means Rashford. Ole said in his post match that he was taken off after complaining about his knee troubling him, says it will be scanned tomorrow.
Ah ok thanks for confirming, yeah I noticed Rashford limping a bit.

Left Rashy, Right Greenwood and Centre Cavani. Beautiful.

Side note that Martial isn't impressing me much this season, nor by his of his work rate. He should have gotten himself into a goal scoring chance when he came on but flopped looking like a clown.

Rashford is infinitely better from the left than in the middle or from the right, and Cavani is superior to Martial. Greenwood is not ideal on the right, but the setup we played today is probably the best attacking force we can muster.

Martial has been poor since the start of the sea, so there’s no doubt about this atm. Unlike the young lads though, Cavani can’t play every game, so Martial will still have to hit form this season for us to achieve big things.

Why don't we stick to this formation ? RW: Greenwood Striker: Cavani LW: Rashford

Since the Liverpool game when they looked so good we've played the following:

Sheffield Utd: RW: Greenwood Striker: Martial LW: Rashford
Arsenal: RW: Rashford Striker: Cavani with Pogba as an AM on the left

We chop and change too much!

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

Cavani can't play every game and Sheffield United was the obvious one for him to get a rest in. It was the easiest match in a run of about eight matches in short succession. Most likely we'll rest him in at least one of the other upcoming matches as well.

With Pogba's current form we obviously want to play him, but it's difficult to get him in the midfield two in the bigger matches so he ends up taking one of the attacking spots. It's hard to say whether that's the right call or not, but we'll probably continue seeing it quite often. In easier matches he'll play in a deeper role, in bigger matches we'll play him on the left.

Ole should stick with Rashford, Cavani, Greenwood and know he can make subs at 50/60 mins and everyone is still getting good game time and/or a little rest.

Diallo, Martial & James as subs.

Diallo will only play once and become the rightful captain anyway.
