Some scenes lose a bit of feeling with the update.

The old one looks ominous. The remaster looks pleasant.

Kasumi – Stolen Memory
Lair of the Shadow Broker
Firewalker Pack

Citadel
Weapons, Armors, Packs:

Equalizer Pack
Aegis Pack

Can't wait to play through ME1 again. I never played 3 so this will be a good opportunity to go through the series in its entirety. Excited

UK, hun?
Man, Mass Effect was so amazing. I miss that period of gaming! Definitely picking this up as soon as it's out.

What's with the obsession with lens flare in gaming? We're not supposed to be seeing the game world through an effing camera.

The first person who said video games should be cinematic should be executed.

According to Google you're the second person to have said that exact combination of words in that order so consider yourself lucky.

Having never played any of these games, I’m pretty excited!
I'm jealous. You are in for a treat. Absolute masterclass trilogy. Only tip I'll give you is work on your dialogue options. Need to upgrade those to either save or kill. Thats all I'll say.

1 was quite poor but 2 and 3 were good.

But yeah, they were, I mean, The Last of Us was fecking beautiful!
Mass Effect 1 looked very good for its age. It came out in 2007!

Quite an influential year for gaming, incidentally. Mass Effect, Portal, Assassin's Creed, Crysis, BioShock, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - not bad at all. Not quite on a patch with 1998 but then what year is?

I completed ME1 many times and unlocked nearly all achievements on XB360 except one. I found it almost impossible to complete the majority game with Liara in my squad as she wasn't an immediately recruitable character. Over various playthroughs, I limited my early sidequests and went straight to get her as soon as I could but I never reached the threshold to unlock the achievement. I'm not usually bothered about these things but this one still irks me to this day

I actually played ME1 after ME2 due to not having an Xbox or PC at the time* so maybe that's why it looked absolutely dire to me in comparison. I do think ME2 was a massive step up though considering there was only a three year gap between the two.

*haha lolz remember when microsoft actually had some decent things sony didn't that was fun

Ooh good question. 1997 was great too. And 2004 was pretty good.

Yeah, 1997 was definitely ridiculously epic. Diablo, Fallout, Age of Empires, GTA, Total Annihilation, Ultima Online, Final Fantasy VII - there's probably a lot more that I'm forgetting.

Now add 1998 to that list: Thief, Metal Gear Solid, Grim Fandango, Baldur's Gate, Ocarina of Time, Half-Life, Unreal, Starcraft...

Mass effect 1 was bit rough even at that time. Hopefully that is addressed this time. It's just a remastered version and not a complete remake. Still good enough for people who haven't played it the first time.

MAKO > Probing any day, I loved driving MAKO in original ME, never understood the hate.
