The earth really does stop turning for Scousers when one of their big players gets a long term
Injury. That has quite literally never happened to another team in the entire history of the game. You poor poor cnuts.

Looking over my shoulder.
How come they are mad that Origi comes on as a sub. It’s not that long ago they lauded him as a superior player and more important than Solskjær ever was.

‘Anfield Agenda’ is always good. The egg headed knob can vacillate from decently unbiased to unbelievably deluded & cnutish at the stop of a hat.
I just watched Anfield Agenda Man United watch along highlights and he was remarkable unbiased from start to finish and even complimented us at times.

I love the constant appeal to not having fans as somehow causal of their form, as if Liverpool weren't only one of two PL clubs that was allowed home fans for a limited time and therefore in advantage over other teams in the first place!

Also, they forget to mention that having no fans at Anfield is no more important for them than home fans being present for any PL team. Feck off with your special pleading BS.

Weird how Jones has fallen down the pecking order slightly. I don’t know if the problem is him and Thiago in the same midfield - but starting a 35 year old 4 times in 13 days seems... bold.
Kelleher played well. Everyone else shite.
We're so one dimensional, doesn't seem to be a plan B.

Brighton played well, they deserved it.
Wish I could fast forward to the end of this season to be honest with you. Everything about it has been shite.
Thought we were very pedestrian and predictable.
Brighton were very comfortable and indeed shouoz have been 2-0
We are actually a nice team to play against at the moment
Sit tight , and we will pop up a chance.
The title is gone , it’s about making sure we finish in the top 4 now
Never say never in the PL (ever the optimist)..... but what is certain is that we should approach every CL game like a cup final, and hope our fortune in European football is better than in England this season (London excepted!)
We created 2-3 good chances and didn't take a single one. They scored without even shooting and their only other good chance was a whiff by a 6'6" WB who they were using like Fellaini. Not saying we deserved to win but we also didn't deserve to lose. A draw would have been a fair result.
8 players out.
5-7 definite starters
Knock on effect that we can't rotate.
Can't cope with that.
Embarrassing, lethargic, unprofessional, disrespectful, boring, scared, apprehensive list goes on but that was awful. Woeful team. Wijnaldum has smashed this season available all the time so I can appreciate he is tired, but pulling out of tackles? Get to feck, if he’s worried about being injured for his reunion in Barca in the summer then he can go play with the under 23s
The players available to us should have been good enough to win this to be honest. We made Brighton look like prime Barca.
This Potter lad might be worth considering
As Kloppo's shoe shiner?
Kloppo, aaaaarghhhhh, alergic to it. Shoe shiner just won against your "Kloppo"

Every big club should be looking at him (Potter) - they’re incredibly well coached
Would have like to see how well they would do against our best 11
The team clearly can't get themselves up for games against the so called smaller teams without a crowd.

Disappointing and you'd hope as professionals it wouldn't be the case but unfortunately it clearly is.
Absolutely awful. 1 point out of 6 against Brighton in a season is just not acceptable.
League now over for us, may as well cheer City on for another meaningless championship.
Ox & Origi coming on offered nothing at all. Origi didn't even touch the ball for about 5 minutes at a time.
1 SHOT ON TARGET at home. And I can't even remember that shot on target. Awful.
Bissouma anyway, let’s get that lad signed up. Destroyed our supposed super midfield
Bissouma absolutely bossed the middle of the park, especially Wijnaldum. I'm a huge Gini fan but today was a typical display under these circumstances from him. If his role was to protect the middle of the park, keep the ball and recycle possession quickly, he did none of that.
LFC need the crowd. It is definitely true.
Not beaten in 68 games at Anfield. Now we have lost two in a row to two top teams; Burnley and Brighton. Good night!

It's like a throwback comment from the pre-Klopp days.

Glorious stuff.

The sad part is the young fringe players have done fairly well this season. The senior players have let them down badly.
He's good. What he did over here with Östersund was bordering on a miracle. But tonight we gifted the win to him and his team. We could have played another game and still not created a decent chance.
When we're bad, we're really bad. That was atrocious. I feel bad for the lads, but some of that stuff....wow. So slow, so predictable. And that's got to be one of the slowest(and shortest?) lineups ever. Firmino, Shaq, Gini, Milner, Thiago, Phillips, Hendo. Oh well. "Looking forward" to Sunday.
Genuinely bizarre how we were top for christmas incidentally.
The way we attack is too ponderous and predictable. Give the ball to Hendo, hit a long ball. Otherwise pass it around the back four until you get it to one of the fullbacks in space who plays a cross into a packed defence at no one in particular. Rinse, repeat. We're missing the goals Van Dijk brings from set pieces. Those are so valuable in games like this.
..

This Potter lad might be worth considering
He's a wizard

Fookin norah, such a long home unbeaten record and then had off twice in a row by Burnley and Brighton. Don't know whats going on here, but this rinse and repeat of continually crossing balls into the box isn't working, neither is the pedestrian pace of midfield. This season can fook right off.
City have won 12 on the bounce. We’ve lost / drew god knows how many games since Christmas.
Are we the only side top at Christmas not to win or is it another hideous statistic we have?
Top 4 would be a good season right now.

Anything else is a bonus.
I'm no longer sad I will be missing Sunday
After two excellent away wins to seemingly get back on track what a let down that performance was. Fair to say over the course of the season injuries have killed us but that was simply poor and flat.
He's a very good coach who just entirely outdid Kloppo tonight. Not that I'd swap Klopp for anyone ever.
....
That was a rough two hours, and now I've got to do the dishes. Crap night
Smash them.

They had four out also, our team is still at a much higher level than these bottom teams we can't beat.
We have enough to beatspurs and west ham, we aren't finding solutions for the bottom teams.
It's no coincidence.
Ever since Fat Sam and his West Brom team sat back blocked the full backs, 9 in the pen box and blocking the final 3rd then they have all copied that set up.
We're struggling to cope with breaking it down. It's like we are missing a Jack Grealish, or a wide player that can beat men. City is a must win now or title has gone.
Don’t think you can accuse Brighton of sitting back. Admittedly they weren’t Man City in their approach but they weren’t Fat Sam lite either. When they got forward they committed bodies and created two or three other opportunities apart from the goal.
We're slipping back to being that team that are predictable and who teams like to play against, who have a game plan and see other teams execute it.
Late now in some games seems like we need a target man to give us something, dare I say it like a Cavani. I am (was) a huge fan of his. Origi can't do it he's had many chances.
I'm not sure what the answer is really, but I'm sure Klopp will.
..
It’s not really happening for Thiago at the min is it?
Tough for him to be fair when our forward options are showing the same movement as a lamppost.
I'm shocked at how poor he is, you see glimpses but other than that very average
Hard to pass to players when their movement and control is so poor.
How many poor touches and misplaced passes did we have in the first 15 minutes.
..
Jota & Virgil can't come back soon enough.
Feel sorry for Klopp , he trusted Shaq then origi and ox , hope shows them the door in the summer .
Yep, I feel sorry for him as well. Honest.

Klopp eluded to it after the game that the players were tired after putting in a huge shift at Spurs and West Ham in the previous 6 days (including two trips down to London) and it caught up with us. Added to losing Mane and not being able to rotate the squad due to injuries. I think we should still have made a change or two. Jones could have started for example. Wijnaldum looked goosed. You play 3 games in 6 days with the same team (minus more injuries which further weakened the quality of the side) and that's what happens.
So he starts 35 year old James milner who's played 4 games on the bounce now and he plays him for the full 90 mins. There were definitely some changes that could have been made out there tonight. Robertson on the left could be doing with a little break. What's the point of buying Kostas if we're not going to give him a chance? Milner for Jones is another one. We couldn't really do much change wise with the front line but surely we could have played 2-3 players who have not played much lately.
Compare that to us last season and tell me the players don’t look tired?
Whether they are actually physically tired, or as Klopp has just alluded to in his post-match, mentally tired - they look lethargic.
I literally hate millionaire footballers for as a fiddle being called tired. Brighton played spurs Sunday ran their bollocks off. That was attitude. Just 3/4 injuries too many to cope with. Stay in top 4 go again next season
It's mental fatigue rather than physical tiredness and how much they get paid has nothing to do with it.
Hoped the last two games marked a genuine turning point in the season. Sadly not. The worst performance of the season no question about it.
That was utterly wretched stuff. No redeeming features, no urgency at all, never a sniff of a chance. Abysmal.
Think the abiding memory of the 2020-21 season will be Trent hopelessly looping the ball into the box 100 times a game. A true throw back to the Stewart Downing days.
City 6 points v Brighton and us just the one , it’s the difference in the 10 point gap ( yet city still to win their game in hand )
Pedestrian and pathetic! Brighton deserved every bit at that.

Title's gone.
Knew we had to win it with the starting 11 when I seen the state of our bench....Origi must wake up every morning and pinch himself.
Take Ederson, Dias, Laporte, Stones, Rodri, Gundogan, Sterling & Jesus out of City's side & they drop points..no doubt.
Any other side suffers what we have this year & they're mid table at best.
You’re right. Although they did lose a lot of that list for long periods last year and came (a distant) 2nd on far more points than were on for...
Just thinking forward to august/Sep now to be honest.
Fans in ground sun shining players back covid under better control and lockdowns gone
Fab Hendo in middle Virgil at back
Ah I can smell the cut grass now.
We need top 4 though or it impacts on the summer and next season and even beyond. I wrote the season off a while ago beyond finishing top 4.
All the signs are physical and mental tiredness. They just can't string the performances together now. The last 2 years and all the injuries are catching up with us now.
The thing with these late games and a poor performance, you go to bed tossing and turning replaying every kick. Need a good nights sleep to be able to cope with the next day. I think I will go and watch the Barcelona 4-0 to cheer myself up and remind me why I love this club.
We really need another Mane type player because when he doesn’t play we are putting square pegs in round holes,Shaq is a luxury player who has no real position and Origi is just awful.
..
Are we the only side top at Christmas not to win or is it another hideous statistic we have?
Since 1992 we've been top like 3 times (think this is the 4th time) and not won the league. Every other team has won the league if they've been top at Xmas. The slip season, Rafas lot in 09, 2019 and barring a miracle this year too.
..
"Brighton haven't won at Anfield for 37 years."

Ah feck.
Min the flip side of that, that would’ve been a fecking good team they beat
Rush Dalglish souness etc
..
Dan Burn running down the wing, seen it all.
Intensity down, some players are coasting, tactics wrong tonight. Brighton set themselves up well, and deserved the win. They put the ball between the posts.
Forgettable night, be a waste of energy talking about tonight match. Dreadful.
So fecking pissing off we lose league by 11mm 1 season and pickford in another
Buzzing with league title but being greedy we could be charging towards no 21 this season
Players deserve so much more even thou they’ve got a league and CL
You've got EURO 2021 being held during a pandemic that will further run players into the ground that have already been ran into the ground. And then we're losing how many players to the AFCON next season? Mane, Salah, potentially Keita?
League and CL is pretty good.
Anyway, this fan less league is fecking shite.
It’s feckimg horrible
A lot of the games on play out like training matches
We should have went for cavani. Would be a great option for games like this. I suppose wages would have been an issue

.... did anyone else want to throttle the laughing Steve MacMoneyman with his own microphone cord?.. .buzzing his bitter tits off throughout the entire game...one bluenosed Judas shitebag that ...
Nope.
I didn't hear a word he said. Mainly because I watch with the sound turned off whenever he is commentating.
I am allergic to verbal diarhhoea.
Yep, he thoroughly enjoyed it didn't he.
Absolutely John...never heard him so animated
Me as well. Was laughing none stop and even said it was wonderful to hear Jesse Lingard back playing and scoring when he heard the West Ham result. The lad is an absolute beaut.
what is beaut? Beautiful?..
So what i miss?
Utd won the league last night
Cant leave you alone for a year or so and this happens.
Hello grandad.

I love the way they moan about injuries and officiating, when they've literally had insane luck for a good two years now. Oh but boo hoo, they have to deal with big boy issues like decisions going against them and injuries. About time ffs

Reads very similarly to our match day threads to be honest
I'm sure it's the same for most matchday threads on all fan forums. It's just hilarious because a) its Liverpool and b) they do post some absolute doozies.

When can we expect the new lads to play? need Hendo Fab in the middle.
What is the script with Minamino ? if he isnt getting a game right now will he ever ?
He's at Southampton, Man!
f@ck me haha I missed that! Seriously
..
Am totally fecked off with that result and performance ..Same shit different day .it's actually getting boring .. getting mugged off by these low block.teams
..
city made 5-changes for tonights game vs Burnley. We don't seem to using rotation effectively . I know we have injuries, but we have players that can share the load. Gini, Robbo, Thiago, hendo, trent, all showing signs of fatigue in tonights game..
do we need more quality in depth? how do city effectively manage it?
Are you serious? Or are you kidding? The answer is pretty obvious.
City couldn’t manage it if they had the amount of injuries we had.
We had no Van Dijk, Matip, Keita, Gomez, Jota, Mane and Fabinho. With those available then you don’t see Milner or Wijnaldum or even Thiago, who has played loads since coming back from injury.
Even the likes of Firmino or Salah get a rest.
It all goes back to the amount of injuries we have.
about us
The one thing making this season bearable (other than having won all the big cups there is to win over the past few years), is knowing we will at least get a laugh at this mob when City inevitably break their hearts.
As poor and injury-ravaged as we are, I still wouldn't even bet on them finishing above us.
This is their best chance to win the PL, and they will still fall short. And we will win it again before them.
..
Some of the English media actually rallying against the penalty and red card rather than wank off about United's record win. Wonders will never cease.

At least it puts their diving a bit more in the spotlight, rather than brushing off Klopp's comments as a rant or mind games.
..
Watched that game last night after Sky Bet reeled me in for Ward Prowse to score from outside the box 20/1
Ever since that Maurice Gibb looking twat started crying after beating us, I've taken a dislike to him, but my emotions conflicted last night by feeling a sour taste in my mouth watching everything they hit go into the back of the net.
Don’t know who you’re referring to as Maurice Gibb but I think that buck toothed twat is a ringer for Robin Gibb
When you see Robin with a beard, its his doppelganger

The front and back four of that 12 don’t look very pleasant for them.
To be fair, it’s the middle 4 fixtures they should be most worried about. Absolutely woeful record against those kind of teams.

To be fair that Robin Gibb/Bruno comparison is spot on. I’d never noticed that before.

They’re unlucky that no other team has injuries only them.

It’s a pity the goal tonight wasnt some ridiculous VAR decision

If the recent Liverpool trend continues, the middle 4 could really bite them in the arse. 1 win in 7 against bottom 6

Didn't realize Liverpool were playing today, so seeing this thread in the front page was a nice surprise
