Mason's got time to be as good as he wants to be, no doubt about it. I understand the guys frustrated by his selfishness to an extent. Given his finishing ability though, it's better to have the selfishness than not. The goal is to learn how to temper it, and especially coming from the wing, knowing when a teammate is in a better position or situation to score and then giving a good pass. In the future, it will likely be him in the middle wanting the good pass to finish a move, and that sort of experience will do him a world of good and make him not just a better player, but someone who makes those around him better and can be part of sustained success. He's on the right track going by recent performances.

It won't improve he just looks the kinda so full of himself kid who never seems to do what he is told and is game is so limited I wouldn't call skilled but yes he can shoot and that is about it .

I watched a few highlights of amad diallo and the assists that he gave tell me that if Mason doesn't change his selfish play he will be replace very soon . I just hate selfish players you can say anything about martial but he at least is a team player.
Love it when oppos come on here and spout shite about players to the people who actually watch them play.

Really good performance against Everton, both offensively and defensively. I'd like to see him making runs into the box but he's more like a wide attacker what I believe is down to instructions. He doesn't roam like Rashford for example.

IMO his issue is lack of confidence, and that's why he makes so many bad decisions. See Foden and Sterling yesterday, they were able to dribble into the box and find a teammate for a tap in because they are flying with confidence. Greenwood is more than capable of doing the same (in terms of technical ability), just needs to settle down a bit.

He's also the most natural footballer in our squad considering how he glides with the ball, and how two-footed he is. His weakness is playing with his back to the goal, but no worries at this age.

For me second most exciting player to watch after Bruno.

You really are talking absolute rubbish.

He has improved his play out wide. Earlier when he was banging in goals after goals, he was prone to having a poor game because, out wide, he was unable to hold the ball, move around and pass it off. He used to come to life when receiving the ball in and around the penalty area but largely remained quiet during other spells of the game.

Now, he does body feints, receives the ball well, beats his marker from time to time and choses good pases. His wing play has improved but it has coincided with his decision making around the penalty area getting poor. His finishing is not on the same level either.

Personally, I am encouraged by improvements in 'other side' of the game because I feel like his finishing ability is too good to disappear overnight. When it all starts clicking, we will have a complete attacker in the squad.

I would love to see him attempt to cross the ball more often either from deep or on the byline, he has it in his locker (remember the cross vs Brighton last season where Bruno scored, or his cross from deep to Bruno who laid it to James in the Southampton goal), I think if he can provide more crosses (he is also unique that he is ambidextrous and comfortable on both foot), it will add to his attacking arsenal (two footedness, shooting, dribbling, ball control, etc...)

Either Ole is seeing something I'm not, or he thinks he is somehow protecting him by taking him off. He was better than Rashford and Martial today, and it is not the first time he has been taken off before the others, when it wasn't deserved.

Easily - by a country mile - the best of our forwards tonight.

The only one who showed any sort of consistent technical quality, made the right decisions more often than not and showed any sort of work-rate and desire.

Best attacker of the 3 that started. Currently only Cavani’s in better form. No idea why he’s the one who has to get subbed off every time when Martial & Rashford are playing so much worse.

Yep played quite well, has improved his play from deeper and looks more comfortable running down the wing now

His all round wing play is getting much better, but at the expense of getting into the box as much. All part of the overall development I guess, but I still want to see him taking more shots on.

Unlike Rashford, he doesn't try to dribble past everyone, their dogs, their neighbors, and their babysitter before trying to find a teammate. He is trying hard to be involved more that he was earlier in the season and there is a lot of scope for improvement.

Lets burn him out then.

OGS management of Greenwood has been top class.
So your in favour of burning out the others just not greenwood.

Lad think of what your saying. Greenwood will survive being the one to play 90 minutes every few games.

Right now he is first off no matter what and it's to the detriment of the team.

Don't get why he always gets taken off even though he was way better than Rashford tonight and was better than Martial too.

Jesus Christ. That’s not what I’m saying! But of course older players can play more minutes than a teenager.

Rashford and Martial were main starters and playing mostly 90 minutes when they were 19 or so under LVG and they didn't burn out either.

I don't even know what "burns out" means to be honest.
lots of young players get over played. One of the best examples is Michael Owen.

Although not contributing much in goals he's doing lots of positive things and I thought he looked bright again. Deserves an extended run in the side.

Slowly creeping back into form. Hope he can add the goals back into his game in time for a potential Euros spot.
