Gulasci‘s clause sounds more like €5m than €10m. And he is a really good keepe!
I just don’t see Konaté having a low-ish clause as well. But if he has it: Bayern, please buy both and sell Süle!
Why would we want Bayern to have both? They're a team we want to be competing with in the next few years. We should be moving heaven and earth to sign Konate.

Well that makes a lot of sense
No worries mate.

But just to add to what's already been discussed. According to the same reports that reported Konate had a release clause of around €40m. Those same reports also reported that he wants to play in the EPL and even changed agent to Englishman, Jonathan Barnett to quicken his departure from Germany to England.

And if I'm not mistaken, Jonathan Barnett has the most clients playing at United with 9 players on the books at the club which would give United a advantage in negotiations if United are in fact interested as reported by Christian Falk.

BILD are essentially saying we are out of the running and its between Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern now

Would prefer him going to Bayern than seeing him at Chelsea or Liverpool

We are out of the running because we pulled out?

What reason is given?

Can't wait til we sign Marcos Rojo 2.0...

Who's on our list still?

In the German media it was always/mostly Liverpool, Chelsea or Bayern for Upamecano.

I have always considered Upamecano as an over rated player. To me Konate seems more of a defender, Upamecano seems a bit complacent defending and we need a proper defender.

Konate will be same price but lower wages so wouldn't mind missing out on him.

Wasnt it reported that we pulled out months ago because of how we tore him apart with pace?

Yep, Rashford made our scours think differently, pretty sure Ole won't have been the most impressed either.
Wonder what would have happened if he had been fit to play in the away game and done well

Kounde looks the best talent, there were some rumours a few weeks ago we're in for him. There were some rumours in earlier months about Pau Torres and recently some murmurs about Konate.

From what I’ve seen Upamecano I’d much rather Konate or Kounde so if pulling out from the third or fourth best option means going after the best or second best option then that’s good news.

We’re not going for him because we’re happy with our options

Your team is interested in a player: he is awesome and only wants us
Player signs with a different team: he is shit anyways, we walked away from the deal.

This happens at every club with every player. And mostly only a few of the supporters have actually watched that player for more than a handful of games.

Begins to sound like we aren't that interested any more - and I can't say I'm disappointed from what I've seen: of course, he might just be out of form on the three occasions I've seen him

Considering we've been following him since he was a teenager we probably have to trust our scouts on this one.

Meh. Everytime i've seen him, he's looked like there's a mistake in him. I just hope we're in for some CB somewhere.

Well we need a center back with pace and speed, and if FIFA 21 stats can be trusted in anyway.

Victor Lindelof: age 26

Acceleration 70
Sprint Speed 74

Dayon Upamecano: age 22

Acceleration 69
Sprint Speed 84

Ibrahima Konate: age 21

Acceleration 68
Sprint Speed 79

Lindelof beats them both on acceleration, but his sprint speed is lower (We often see him and Maguire getting outpaced by forwards in a chase) so when it comes down to sprint speed Upamecano is the one you want.
(Granted I don't watch the Bundesliga, and know there is much more involved in picking a CB)

Problem is....I don't think Upamecano wants to come to United when he has Bayern Munich and Liverpool (The last two Champions Cup winners in the running) to get him this summer.

Apparently this has left us in a competitive race for Konate with Chelsea, who also sees the writing on the wall with Upamecano,

Upamecano has the same speed stats as the trucks on all GTA games.

FIFA stats are (obviously) trash.
Upamecano is amongst the fastet defenders worldwide, in the BL his top speed is close to players like Davies and Coman. I'm not even sure if there is even a single faster top level CB around at the moment.

Stats here:

Dayot Upamecano has chosen Bayern Munich. They'll pay for his release clause after agreeing personal terms with the player.

This was always obvious the moment Bayern went public. Another steal for them!

Have to admire how Bayern is run tbh. They always sort their shit out early and with minimal fuss.

The Bundesliga is such a pointless competition, it’s actually funny.
But to be fair he had a release clause and multiple international top teams wanted him. It is not Leipzig's fault that he chose Bayern over some other top teams. It was the same with Lewandowski. It is not like Bayern forced the clubs to sell those players to them, it was the players decision. If Lewandowski wouldn't have gone to Bayern, then he would have ended up at Madrid. But Lewandowski prefered Bayern, same with Upamecano. And in last 4-5 years Bayern haven't actually bought any player from their competitor who was siginificant improving Bayern/ weakening the rival team
