I enjoyed it. However at the end I ended up thinking so what? I also didn't notice any connection to the other series. Were there any?

the post credits scene was the only one I noticed

even that felt completely pointless to be honest

Wanted to watch season 4 and also noticed it wasn't on Netflix. So re-watched season 1. Brilliant.

Read that netflix declined it. Maybe that was netflix america, so who knows.
It is a Hulu thing in the States.

As for season 1 mentioned above, I rewatched S1 before S4 and holy hecks I recognized like everyone. Even people that just show up briefly as side characters I know from other shows. I know shows with good budgets will often draw from the same pool of minor stars, but that was something else.

Season One on TV - just superb.
I was invested until the last two episodes, and then every decision every character made just became ridiculous.

Watched season 2 recently and it suffered from the same problem. Still might give the third a watch though!

Not sure if I mentioned it already in the TV reccos thread but a fifth season of Fargo airs in 5 days and its been getting extremely good early critics reviews with most of them saying the shows returns to its best. Looking forward to this!

When would the critics say it was at it's best? I've watched the first two seasons, and the last few episodes of season one were amongst the stupidest episodes of anything I've ever watched. I think the cast were better in that season than in the second, but the second had the characters make very slightly less ludicrous decisions.

Although, thinking about it now, I remember Jesse Plemens making a very silly choice in the second...

As you said, the second season is fantastic and the first few episodes of the first are great before it goes to shite but the rest is all a bit bleh.

I gave up with this in the season where Ewan McGregor played two characters. Did it recover, because the first few seasons were great?

I liked that one too, though I honestly don't remember any of them in detail. Was that the one with Chris Rock as the mobster?

Google suggests that was the season after.

Seems I gave up in season 3, Chris Rock was season 4.

Might give it another go.

I think most of us gave up during Season 3 but I remember the 4th one being better. Season 5, as per these early reviews, seems to be closer to the first two seasons.

Really enjoyed the first two episodes. Seen all these characters before, but it's still entertaining
Same here. Love me some Fargo. Just finished the 4th season recently which wasn’t as good as the others but it’s still better than the majority of TV shows out there.

The dilemma I have now though is that I’ve always binge-watched this show so I’m not sure I can handle waiting a week for the next episode.

Season 3 was bad, the guy with the teeth was really annoying.

Season 4 - good god what happened? I gave up after a few episodes.

I'm so used to Jon Hamm being in goofy stuff (never watched Mad Men) that it's strange to see him as an intense absolute cnut.

Also, for the first two episodes I thought Dot was played by Elizabeth Olsen before I googled it and saw it's Juno Temple.

If you can overlook the Kevin Spacey of it give Baby Driver a watch, it’s a decent flick with a really good soundtrack and Hamm plays a decent similar sounding villain.

Absolutely brilliant, and loved the ending. I agree it's up there with Seasons 1 and 2, maybe even better than them. But a bit different - has a very Tarantino feel to it, I thought. There's something about the extreme forcefulness and clarity of the characters.

Must just be me who thought that season five, whilst good, wasn't... great? It was a very basic story, and I thought Jon Hamm was a (sorry) pretty Hammy villain. Definitely an improvement on 3 (haven't seen 4) though, but nowhere near 2.

The last episode was also weird, like they rushed the first 20 minutes and then spent a half an hour making cookies.

The villains felt straight out of a cartoon, there was so little depth. It also felt like all of the men were either bad or incompetent. The acting was great though. I can't think of any weak performances from anyone, but the script was average at best and downright confusing at worst. I remember reading an article suggesting it was all a dream as there were so many Wizard of Oz references.

I absolutely loved it, Juno Temple is a star. Thought it was great throughout the season with very little lulls, and they landed the ending so well. Great great season.

The scene with Roy Tillman walking with Toxic playing in the background is chilling and utterly incredible.
