Just read the kicker article, power struggle between the remaining two Hofmann buddies on the presidential board and Jansen who had pushed Hofmann out, and of course mustardtrucking billionaire Kühne still causing trouble in the background. This club
Once the rot has made it to the heart of such a big club it's incredibly hard to get it out. Look at Stuttgart's leadership tearing each other apart, despite the club having had some absolutely fantastic recent development. Schalke will be going the same way once they finally get to fill the vacuum left by Tönnies.

Can’t they simply merge with Schalke and Hertha? Imagine the potential!

"No mercenary stands above the club - immediately out with the characterless pig!"

More to follow probably. I just hope the fans leave it at stuff like this and don't issue death threats.

They are aware that they themselves took Rose away from Salzburg by paying his release clause, right?

Unfortunately I think it's going to happen at some point. Or has already happened, online for sure. People at this moment are very fickle and nervous and feel easily betrayed in times like these. This can easily create hate an irrational responses. Pandemic being the catalyst of bad behaviour and all that.

Rose going to Dortmund is pretty understandable, though. While Dortmund are not on their potential level at the moment, the club is just bigger than Gladbach and is more likely to win actual silverware. That doesn't mean that fans can't or shouldn't be disappointed of Rose's behaviour. From a Gladbach's fan POV, this move seems unnecessary and like a betrayal. He didn't communicate openly, which is kind of an euphenism, because as far as I know, he said a lot of pro Gladbach stuff in the recent months. They will most likely feel like it's solely money-motivated since they are on the same level as Dortmund currently, completely ignoring the fact that Dortmund is a bigger club than they are. Twice the revenue, much more success in recent history, a richer football culture, more fans, a bigger stadium, the list goes on and on...
I understand a Gladbach fan for sure, it's okay to be angry. But that said, I also understand Rose. He doesn't show the biggest integrity, though.

There is a slight difference between going to another country and going to a direct rival. But i am sure you see that as well.
There is also a bit of history of Gladbach players being bought by Dortmund: Reus, Hazard, Dahoud...

I understand that. But if you give a player/manager a release clause, you have to be aware that it's not unlikely one of your rivals will trigger it at some point if said player/manager has done well. That's why I'm happy we didn't agree to that during the negotiations for Haaland and hope we will not agree to something like that in the future.

The fans are just doing their job, a banner like this is the correct thing to do and completely appropriate.

Moving to Dortmund would always have ilicited a strong response, but what makes this hurt worse is that he and Eberl sold his signing as a long term project and now fans realize he had a release clause all along and started talking to another club after just little over a year (at the latest).
Eberl with his "99% sure he's staying" bullshit didn't help either and, since Rose is already the bad guy, gets interpreted as Rose not being honest with the club.

And of course there is also this huge conflict of interest with Rose going to a direct competitor currently level on points, both fighting for EL/CL spots, that would be a good reason to sack him immediately, even if fans were happy.

Gladbach have pre-poned the Mainz pre-match press conference for a day, to immediately address the issue and the growing noise surrounding the Rose decision.
It took place this morning and both Rose and Eberl were speaking.. this is brave, but pretty painful

Trying to counter what Eberl calls social media desinformation and "lies", about rows, mutiny, and trouble brewing behind the scenes.
Also Eberl, playing from the Bayern board PR playbook, claiming Gladbach to be victimized by what is a "problem of today's society"

Pick of the quote from Eberl: "If anything, the fans should be mad at me for allowing such a clause in Marco's contract - but hadn't I done so, I wouldn't have gotten Marco".

Pretty amazing that Eberl is not even 50 years old yet. Already a battle proven, veritable titan of the DoF trade.

Oh, i am with you. That’s why it is so amusing when half the posters on here were up in arms when Bayern triggered the release clause of Upamecano.

The way Rose conducted himself at the sideline against Dortmund, not even the most die hard Gladbach fan should entertain the thought that he's in a conflict of interests. And if the reports are to believed, Dortmund had already agreed terms with Rose at the time of the Favre sacking, so that's that.

The conflict of interest is evident and its existence is not dependent on Rose's mindset or how he acts on the touchline. It's just a fact.

Tbh that's a great line from him, taking the entire responsibility for the situation.

those people kind of inspire, don't they? I have lots of respect for this guy! It's exactly what a leader does, no matter the cost. Gladbach are blessed having him. I wish Schalke had someone like him..

Yes, lots of respect for the guy for taking the responsibility, especially as big as this one.

Wish we had someone like him too.

Oof, Tolisso apparently has torn a tendon in training while taking a shot, and is out for the season (6 months estimated).

The poor sod. At this point I doubt he'll ever get back into form for us, he's just cursed.

This is horrible news all around.
Obviously first of all for him as he's turning into someone permanently injured, not to mention he'll miss the Euros if they happen.
For Bayern, it's horrible not so much because we'll miss him, he hasn't been great this season, but because selling him was supposed to generate a good part of the money used for any big investment we might want to make in summer.
So that's now not going to happen, as cynical as it is to say this.

I rate Eberl very highly, but he completely fecked up the communcation of la decision.
First he sold Rose's appointment as a long term project (we had to sack nice uncle Dieter to make way for a glorious future), then he kept the release clause under wraps. Both points are entirely reasonable, but when reality caught up with them after Favre was sacked and reports of Dortmund making progress with Rose started to appear he had the choice to go for some honesty or to keep bullshitting and he opted for the latter.
The intensity of the fan reaction is a in no small part a result of his handling of the situation and this "it's all my fault, blame me" routine is more or less him scrambling to put out the fire he fed himself.

Anyone watching Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern München? Both are the most in-form teams in the Bundesliga right now, won 5 of their last 6 games and have the best attack in the league. I fancy this to be a high scoring draw.

Not sure why but play has been interrupted since minutes. Think a linesman had to go off or something.

Sane at the moment is so unbelievable annoying every attack goes through him and 98% he fails.... every pass after dribbling...

Words cannot describe how utterly atrocious Leroy Sané is playing

I remember getting some flak for not wanting Sane at Bayern. I feel vindicated. He offers less than Perisic did last year.
I mean if he was in pre ACL injury form then at the very very least he'd be a monstrous flat track bully and impact sub.

Could it be the natural effect of his injury last season? He’s not having the best of seasons by all accounts. Surely 7 months is more than enough time to regain full match sharpness though.
