Crazy shit.

Chas Skelly was ready to fight, but his opponent never reached the octagon.

Jammal Emmers suffered back spasms and the fight was called off.

The only fighter i follow from bellator. I know there are lots of ex ufc legends but i dont have much time to watch more events other than the ufc ones.

Is it just me or is she the most mediatic bellator fighter right now?

She throws her ass around like there is no tomorrow, so I'm not surprised

England's Tom Aspinall with a nice victory to start the main card. Arlovski showing his mileage, didn't even bother to defend that choke.

Just jumped in at the main card. It's time for Alexey to hang it up surely. He'll always be somewhat of a legend for his 12 Ezekiel choke wins, which is just ridiculous. Minner continues to look a pretty good prospect.

Edit: Missed the Arlovski fight, but he's another who surely needs to hang it up now.

I kinda like that decision. Those elbows at the end were nasty AF and Vieira did barely anything despite top control. Happy to see more judging like that going forward.

Wow the spanish commentators were giving the brazilian fighter the W but actually she dominated the position on the ground but didnt do shit with that. Actually i think it was a right call from the judges

Me too, she had over 100 strokes compared to about 20.

Much prefer to see fights judged that way

A walk away knockout looks far better anyways. The extra shots aren’t that common these days they used to be as Bisping will recall from Dan Henderson

Heavyweight isnt even mma anymore. Theres nothing mixed about that style.
Yeah not a massive fan of it in mma or boxing. The lighter divisions are much better.

I think the problem is out of the entire population you don't get people that big in reality...so then out of them who wants to be and/or has the ability to be a fighter? So the talent pool is really poor outside the top few. Boxing for example has AJ and Fury, the rest are pretty shite

Blaydes has a name that would be a Mortal Kombat character and comes out to the MK theme song. Staying true to the character, he falls victim to a fatality and loses his soul.

I am not a big fan of Lewis. I personally think he is unsportsmanlike and has a history play acting and feigning eye pokes and low blows to get away from pressure.

I know it’s heat of the moment and you want to be sure, but those two shots were extreme and could have caused serious, serious damage.

Definitely not “super necessary”

He did get poked in the eye though.

Playing possum is perfectly legitimate if people fall for it

I wasn’t talking about last night, he has done it before and I don’t think it’s very sportsmanlike in a proper fight.

It’s obvious if you turn your back or feign an illegal blow that your opponent will hesitate. It’s not the right way to do things in my opinion.

He has also bragged in the past about his lack of training and application. I’m just not a fan of how he does things in general.

Plus the talent pool of athletes that size inevitably drift towards the NBA and NFL. Not enough guaranteed money in the UFC to make it a viable option in comparison.

Look at the 1st pick in last years NBA draft - Zion Williamson. 6’7, 285 pounds and insanely athletic at 20 years old. Physically bullies grown men who’ve been in the NBA for years.

If that physique and athleticism was coupled with MMA training from a young age your average UFC heavyweight wouldn’t have a chance. It’s just much easier to pick up a basketball instead.

Wonder if we'll see Lewis and Ngannou run back one of the biggest non-events in UFC recent history at some point, although Lewis said he hates being the main event because it means a 5-rounder

It would be a 30 second fight next time. Francis would go in on him like he did Rozenstruik.

Probably, though even Ngannou would have to be a bit wary of Lewis' power. Either way I think you're right that it would be a short fight this time.

Man... I did not expect Lewis to do that!

That's some technical development. Against DC he didn't even think of landing a shot while DC was attempting a takedown.

Imagine just how scary Lewis could be if he was more of a fast starter and had better cardio. He is kinda of a slow starter. That could cost him against the likes of Miocic and Jones.

I feel for Blaydes though. He is a top three, top four fighter, and is probably not getting a title shot for the next three years. Possibly will end up in Bellator like Corey Anderson.

Fantasy matchmaking: Lewis X Volkov 2. Blaydes X Overeem 2. Lewis said he wants Overeem, so if they go that route... would they make Blaydes X the loser of Jairzinho X Gane ?

Also, Tom Aspinall! Maybe my favorite blue chip prospect right now! Dude will be in the top 10 soon.
