Awful half. Typical of a game after a European midweek but worse than usual.

Fred used all his skill points on Thursday it seems, Martial playing on his heels yet again and the defence carry on their terrible form.

Hope someone lights a fire under their arses half time. Nicky Butt’s face said it all.

Hindsight eh? Stop being a bellend. Fair weather fan
I’m mean I’m not, it’s just obvious this selection was shite. James playing against low block = shite. How much evidence does Ole need. De Gea is done. Lindelof is poor. This is on Ole so far, and I don’t say that with any pride or joy!

James one of our best players?

Whenever he got the ball he has either a) rammed it into Newcastle defenders. or b) driven the ball down towards the touchline and turned back and wasting the opportunity due to him lacking the will to take defenders on.

Get him and Martial off and bring on Greenwood and Diallo ffs.

There will be some changes of this continue.

Some of the players are way from doing what needs to be done. I wonder how long Solskjaer will have patience with Martial? He is becoming Firminho. Not producing enough. And I don't just think about goals.

I have a feeling how Ole is just desperate for James to succeed. He is shit 5 games in a row, play one good and goes straight in first 11
He actually started well but the preoccupation in building attacks on the left is making us predictable. At times both martial and Rashford are occupying the same space leaving nothing in the middle

We just play so cautiously. Fullback hesitating to overlap, midfielders sitting 5 yards infront of the CB and don’t budge an inch. Attack and midfield is always massively disconnected.

I just hate the way we play, so negative and relying on individual moments.
It's so fecking basic too and there is no reason to do it vs this Newcastle. Why the extra caution ? James isn't good at 1v1 so AWB not helping him is very crazy to me

He also doesn't have a first touch and can't shoot. He must be the most unbrazilian Brazilian I have ever seen.
He needs mctom or pogba to play ahead of him so he can go about breaking up play
Whenever matic plays he’s asked or forced to do things he doesn’t have in his locker

Guarantee there’ll be calls for James to come off for Amad

Yet Ole has been criticised for playing James in a game where there’s no space for James to run in to. Yet what is Amad going to do if he comes on......try to run into space that isn’t there and he’ll get praise for it because he is the CAF’s new love child.

For what it’s worth I think James has been one of our best players in the first half, playing positive and wanting to go forward yet there’s no attackers in the box for him to cross the ball to
To be fair I think Amad helps us retain the ball better. I don't think James has been the problem either though. We're losing the battles all over the pitch.

We are crying out for a midfielder that actually wants the ball and gets us playing. Should be a priority when Pogba leaves.

Making sure we are in a proper top 4 race.

If one of James and Martial is not subbed off at halftime would be an indictment on Ole.

Amad would try to create. James isnt even doing that. Not combining with AWB or crossing or passing. We cant't even pass to him because we 're scared he'll lose the ball.

It doesn't matter who we put on the right wing, 90% of balls will goto rashford anyway. We could play prime Ronaldo there and they'd still pass to rashford.
Because there is no natural RW in the squad to play. We keep shoe horning players there who aren’t comfortable on that wing. United have no excuse for not signing a natural RW for over 10 years now.

I would say I'm disappointed but it's a familiar story at this point. Struggling yet again to break down a defensive team and concede a poor goal. If we talk about the goal against for a bit, it was coming. That situation was threatened for a few times before it happened. Not sure how Saint Maxim had no one covering him and Maguires blind header into the worst possible place was just annoying.

The attack is probably the wrong one for this game. Martial not looking dangerous and while I'm happy for James to get retarded for his good game midweek, we already know this is the sort of game he'd struggle in and so it proves to be. We probably need Greenwood on for at least one of those as soon as possible. If only Cavani was available.

We've actually tried playing quickly but our passes just haven't connected which is concerning. With the personnel available to us Greenwood for James is the only option we have. Ole needs to make that change asap.

It’s a good thing we have a headstart in the top 4 race. Liverpool and Spurs are masking just how our wheels have come off in the league since reaching first.

Rashford > Prime Ronaldo though in fairness...

Get Greenwood on for Martial and Amad for James. I would do it now at half time.

He's been trying to replace him for well over a year. He doesn't fancy him in my opinion, and it's no surprise, he's not good enough.

James is a popular person to slag off here, but saying he's been one of our best players so far is a bit nuts. Remember the season were Valencia would run into blind alleys before passing it back to Smalling? It's like watching that without the muscle.

The other issue is that we only attack with one full back and Shaw gets forward a lot more, so AWB doesn't really have a chance.

But yeah, I have always said this, but Ole is risk adverse.

A simliar performance by Man United 2nd half and more points will be dropped.

I seen Newcastle in some recent games and they didn't play tonights pressing game in any of them, can they keep that going for 90 minutes?
That’s my hope. They have worked incredibly hard.

Ole must know when he’s playing James in a game like this that it’s not going to go well.

Amad is a far superior dribbler and passer. Whether he can show that we don't know but running into space not all there is for a winger.

As piss poor as our defending always is, we've created nothing against one of the worst defensive teams in the league. It all stems from this dreadful midfield which can't get the ball forward with any urgency whatsoever. I know we don't have many choices right now but I'd honestly pull Fred for Mata, we don't need two holding midfielders at all.

This is becoming repetitive. Very poor performance.

Getting fed up at this stage.
