Nobody and nothing to blame now. These performances are on him. Not Mourinho holding him back by ‘forcing him to compete for a place in the team’ as I was hilariously told a few weeks ago on here.
Not due to not playing in his position. Not due to him playing for a “shite team in transition”. Bruno and Rashford seem capable of making things happen for themselves.
After seeing the post above I’ll add not due to him breaking up with a partner.

We’ve used up all our Martial excuses now. It’s time to accept this is him. He’s a talented but very inconsistent player with an attitude not in keeping with a team who want to win trophies. He’ll have purple patches and look the part at times but basically he’s an arsenal player.

Beginning of the end for Martial, know way Ole can go into next season relying on this guy and he knows it',

I don't know who's buying Martial or how much you can even get for him in todays market, 25m ? But get him out the door asap and get a real striker signed,

Imagine upgrading him with Haaland :houllier: one can only dream, although Ashley Barnes would be an upgrade at this rate

So poor yet again. Hold up play was fine but thats literally all he offered. He's comes far too deep, isnt pressing the Newcastle defence or trying to force errors with runs. He's keep drifting left far too often which congested Shaw and Rashfords space resulting us have to pass backwards. You just cant be a centre forward if your not on the last man, Static or lacking in aerial threat! He should be making runs to create space not blocking everybody elses!
There was literally a point in the match were he came deeper than Fred! I dont even think the service he got can be blamed as at times we got width but had no option in the middle.

He's still got some credit left but he needs to wake up fast. For now Id drop him for Greenwood, Cavani or even put Rashford at CF and stick James on the left. It's fluke we played better when he came off and we had Greenwood actually making runs.
Blimey where is he getting that credit from when he keeps putting in average performances and still making at least the bench if not actually starting games when he's not playing well enough to justify it either

Ole has to grasp the nettle and move him on in the summer. Or at least buy a striker that’s considerably better than him. He has so many excuses made for him but he’s had more bad seasons than good in his time here.

Wonder if Moyes wants him at west ham?

Wonder if our feeder club inter want him to join them?

2 options right there. Just anywhere but at United.

Awful. Needs to come on at 60-70 minute mark now until he can find some form. Showed his quality with the turn and shot - no idea why he's not doing that this season at all.

If he was busting a gut every game desperate to get on the end of things I could give him some leeway but he’s such a fairweather player sometimes. Give me someone like Werner who at least sprints more than once a game even if he doesn’t score.

Really gutted it hasn't worked out. He has talent but clearly lacks the discipline and application required.

We need a CF we can rely on to score goals if we are to challenge. Our biggest challenge will be getting that sort of player.

The final replay of their goal blows me away, he’s free, he can just fecking head the ball, just fecking talk man. He doesn’t move his mouth.

Mental.

Confidence seems utterly shot and he’s a passenger right now.

Embarrassing that we still have to remind a player that's been here 5 years to move
No point really, that's not who he is. Makes me sad as I love Martial, but it feels like a lost cause now.

For me he's 3rd choice striker now after Greenwood as things stand. Until he shows something more then James should be starting ahead of him when one of the big boys is out.

Anthony Martial. Have we ever seen a footballer at this level apply so little effort? Even Berbatov, famous for being languid, put in bursts of energy here and there. Anthony, well, it’s hard to put into words how little effort he puts into a football match.

I am tired of giving this guy low ratings. Someone please explain to me what has been bothering him this season? There has been no injuries or any personal issues that I know. Like, how can your ability nosedive so much?

And somebody fire the nutritionist at the club. Lukaku in his second season looked like Mark Henry and Martial looks heavy as well.

Reminds me at one point when some here were defending his lack of movement by saying that he's not running like headless chicken.

Anyone got a total touches stat for him today. Must have been below 20 surely
33 according to WhoScored.

Completed 18 out of 22 passes.

Dispossessed twice, offside once, 2 dribbles, 1 shot, 0 tackles, 0 interceptions

He's a 25 year old with over 230 professional games under his belt. If he needs to be told to start moving at this point....

Everyone is now having a go like we did Dan James,Lukaku,Lingard
With the exception of Lukaku, those players were trying. He has to earn support by actually playing like he gives a shit. Poor form can be excused. Lack of any effort can’t.

The manager made a mistake by starting him when he hasn’t earned it. He’s basically telling the player there are no consequences for being half arsed. If I can so be generous as to call it half arsed.

I think we’ve sent the wrong player on loan.

Also wouldn’t mind him being sold in summer. Far too high salary to be a bench option.

He looks ready for Ligue 1 next season to me. Plenty of natural talent when it suits him but an atrocious attitude, one I personally have no more time for at my club. I’ve followed him to the cliff edge in the last few years but I’m not jumping off that cliff with him.

After the end of last season I thought he will kick on from there but instead he has regressed. I won't mind if we sell him when we can get some value off him.

If OGS had to yell at him to move about during a match, then I’m leaning towards Martial being mentally checked out and not really trying anymore.

70 mins and just one shot,to think how talented he is to create that opportunity for that shot, biggest waste of talent, doesn't have the guts to be anything worthwhile for man utd

Nowhere near the right mentality for Utd's number 9. Happy for him to be a squad player, but his attitude and application is a joke.

There's no place for both him & Rashford in the team and the choice between the two isn't hard so I think it's obvious that his time at United is coming to an end . He is not good enough to be a CF and his work ethic isn't good enough for a winger

I think he’ll be off in the summer, and he probably knows it himself.

Thought Southampton game might be the turning point this season but shame it wasn't. Very poor season for him. Hopefully he steps up
and scores few goals.
He has been hammered by the british media tonight which isn't right, however if we can find a taker in the summer (highly unlikely) then think we should thank him for 6 years service and move on to someone willing to show more

What did they say ?
Shearer - Didn’t look interested in doing any of things required to be a successful striker and his goal record (4 goals out of 53 we’ve scored in total) is nowhere near good enough.

Dublin - Talented but lacks the attitude to be a proper CF.

Agent Smith - Yasssssss Queens
