Easy to move on when Utd sign a striker to replace him. We're still waiting for that. In the mean time hes banging them in. Where would utd be this season with Lukaku's goals rather than Martial's pitiful 4 goals.

Nowhere he's still the same guy playing in a weaker league. Just remember what happened when we played the same tactic Conte does with Lukaku - Mourinho's 2nd season. Out of the title race at the start of December, Lukaku missing a sitter vs Stoke and gifting City a win. Being absolute shit in the UCL vs Sevilla...
Thank god we actually got some money back for him. He's nothing more than a stat padder

Probably like 2-3 points after City, but not beating them in the long run.

Still he always outscores Martial. Lukaku with Bruno would look better during Mourinho too..

Is he what we want? No
Better than Martial Always

The revisionism that happens with certain figures who have left the club is quite something.

The decision to get rid of Lukaku was correct. The decision to replace him with Martial wasn’t.

The second decision being wrong doesn’t negate the first being right.

To recoup £70 million is the best piece of business Ed has done.

I just hated his sight in a United shirt. One of the most annoying pricks out there. Good riddance.

There are some pretty strong rumors he's going to be Agueros replacement at City
Would be a really illogical signing given the other potential options available this summer and the fact that Haaland will be available for £65 million the summer after.

City rarely make illogical signings.

Especially one who seems the antithesis to Pep’s style of football.

Would be a crazy signing but apparently he's on the short list. Given he's likely to cost around £100m I'd rather us use the cash on just about anyone else. Hopefully its his agent leaking nonsense.

You could probably get Ings at a cut-price deal this summer if you pushed for it. Only a year left on his contract and clearly fancies another crack at a top team.

Wouldn’t burden you with an expensive CF either so would still have the capability to go for Haaland the year after.

I hope you sign Lukaku for all of those reasons and more.

I'd love him at City. He'd probably end up waving his finger at Pep within five days and get benched for the season. Dude can't control a potato mash ball, let alone a football.

what is his record against big teams? That was one of the issues he had for us

I mean yes it was a nice goal but it was at 2-0 with Milan chasing the game and leaving spaces. I'd be praising him if that was at 0-0 in a tight game though

I mean a goal is a goal but surely United fans want more hence why it was right to sell him

Why didn't a team better than Inter sign Lukaku?
He wanted to go to italy. AC didnt have the money, Juventus still paying for the awful decision to screw their future by signing a immobile old striker. So Inter it was, who are a european giant. Hes been a great signing for Inter. Fantastic striker. Dont get the hate he gets on here. He's a goal machine. Also i dont see him leaving Inter anytime soon.

did he want to go to Italy or realise he couldn’t have gone anywhere else?

would Bayern, Dortmund, Real, Barca, Athletic Madrid, or PSG want him? No.

would anyone in the top half of the PL have wanted him? No.

I’m no fan of Lukaku that’s clear. This is not meant as a criticism - but he (and his agent) are very good at spinning the story.

Italy was the only place he could realistically go.

Nothing has changed. Still hasn't scored against Juve, the only team comparable to any of our top 6.

I live near Milan and watch Inter regularly. He is still the same player with the same problems, only now he is playing against the equivalent of Bournemouth every weekend.

Yesterday summed Lukaku up really. Scores a screamer when his side is two up and the game is in the bag, you'd never rely on him to grab the only goal in a tight game away to major rivals.

He also set up the first, but don't let the facts get in the way of your cliches.

Just last week he scored two and asdisted another in their win against 4th placed Lazio.

excellent goal and a very good game overall. the king of Milan, properly shat on Ibra and haters here on caf. with yesterday's goal he became the top goalscorer in Italy, with Cristiano being close second. it would be great if he leads Inter to title with him ending with most goals as well.

Don't even like Lukaku as a footballer but have to say that it amuses me that in the cup clash it was Ibrahimovic who let his team down with an act of stupidity and even in this game he's thoroughly outshined by Lukaku.

On current form of course, but so would Patrick Bamford. Doesn't make Lukaku any less of a lazy, whinging, toxic fraud who I'm very glad is gone. Martial being rubbish presently doesn't change my opinion on Lukaku.
Exaggerating obviously.

Or the fact he was constantly shite for United for two seasons? Banging them in a second rate league like Serie A has sadly become is not a barometer of being an elite player. He's quality, of course he is, I was delighted when we signed him but he just doesn't have that certain something we want from our main man up front. For the record Martial clearly doesn't have it either. I think if we had a proven reliable world class striker like Haaland, plus a reliable goalkeeper we would be challenging for the league.

So what is a first rate league then? Apart for Bayern, City and PSG the competition isn't great.
