In England it will be United or Liverpool. No doubt about that. Liverpool is in decline, so I think we have a good chance tbh.

We will have a go, but I'm not getting excited, we could lose in a one horse race for a player, let alone Haaland who is on the wish list of half of Europe

Bayern, City and Chelsea, at least, will be in for him you’d think.

just don’t think we’re smart enough to get this done, especially with the competition,
unless we jump in early this summer with an offer higher than the clause? Not our style though

we’ll do well to get Sancho, with Diallo on the right and Greenwood up top. Don’t even see that happening tbh
You're joking if you think half the big clubs aren't already in Raiola's ear. He's hardly a hidden gem who you get by jumping in early and catching other clubs unaware. Also, his release clause is hardly going to be the issue. It's who can fork out the mental wages and the extra cash Raiola is going to demand for himself + haaland's family.

Can’t see us involved with Raiola players again.....the fee he will be looking to take from this deal will eclipse all others....especially as he won’t be getting the big payday he once thought he’d get from Pogbas next move

I’m starting to think that even in this current climate it’s worth United blowing everyone else away and going all in on Sancho AND Haaland which alongside Fernandes, Rashford, Greenwood, Diallo, James, Mejbri and Shoretire is our frontline sorted for the next 5-10 years.

I know we’ve lost a lot of revenue due to the pandemic BUT we’re one of the very few teams that have enough income for it not to have been a financial disaster like it has been for Barca, we’d have to move Martial and Pogba on to recoup half of the outlay and take a gamble in midfield but it’d be worth it as Haaland and Sancho in tandem is right now the best/hottest double act in the game.
I think you need to reset your expectations. United have already lost 150m during the pandemic

I might be looking too far into this but bear with me.

Ole has confirmed today that we won’t look to discuss extended his contract by the second year until the season has finished. There’s been a few rumours that we’ve got money to spend this summer and I’m just wondering if we’re holding off on extending his contract until we’ve explored the striker options in the summer (Harland?).

It could very well be the case that Cavani only ever really wanted a year but considering in the past we’ve activated these extra years early on I wonder if there’s something to this. A guy can believe!

Yep. I think we'll be even tighter with our budget than last summer. Without big goings out, I can't see more than one big money signing, and even that won't be obscene money.
Yeah if fans thought £75m last summer was a low spend then just wait until this one, I feel like the only team that could afford Pogba now would be PSG and like others have said Utd need to be smart and look at potential swap deals for him when the clubs haven't got the funds for a straight cash one.

We should try to swap Pogba - if he wants to leave - with Kinpembe.

I remember the statement from Haaland's camp, saying they only felt Soljskaer really wanted Haaland and not the whole collective of United. Which wasn't enough for them to move to United, so they chose Dortmund.

We really have got to do everything to sign him.

We need a striker badly and there is no one better or even close to Halaand.

We really got to start trying to compete.

No top clubs would ever accept their demands of including a sell-on clause, believed to be in the region of 65m which will be activated next year.

It was reported that Dortmund paid 22.5m transfer fee plus 10 million euros to Mino Raiola.

Too much pride that is.

Worst case if the club isn't competing still you make a profit.

And if they start winning things he wouldn't want to leave anyway.

And not that I believe him but Mino said they didn't ask United for a release clause and that they just chose Dortmund. Who knows if that's true but I wouldn't be surprised as Dortmund was always a better move as be had guaranteed starts.

Are we already at the point now where agent fees are capped or is that coming later? It's kind of crazy that Mino's fee was almost half of the amount paid in transfer fee on top of the actual fee.

Roy Keane has just spoken. Sign Haaland he said when asked if he could name just one player we should sign.

wow i don't like the idea of waiting till the summer, would prefer to get him tied down ASAP

I still doubt Haaland will move anywhere this summer, we moght want that number 7 shirt available again though

We bother with Haaland when we already have Martial?

A bit of levity to brighten up a Sunday night.

Some papers said he wants £300,000 a week. That would make him among the top earner at most PL clubs. Thats a huge amount to pay a 20 year old. That would cause some issues with current top stars at City, Chelsea, Utd, Liverpool etc.

Certainly more worth it than our top two earners and know some won't like to hear that

If we get DDG, Martial & Pogba off our books we have a big chance. We don't have a big chance because we won't get them off our books. Huge contracts.

"We wouldn't create chances for him"

Bruno could have had so many more assists:lol:. In fairness you could probably make a compilation like that for most teams (just not as bad as ours).

IMO, our style is perfectly set up for him. He's said many times that he loves to run on to passes. Not saying he couldn't play in a possession based system but ours is a better fit.

You do realise we've scored more goals than any other team in the Prem this year, yes?
Wow I didn't know that. Thank you for shattering my illusion.

I've seen the light, we don't need Haaland. He may as well go to City, after all they've scored fewer goals than us in the Prem this year.

Bruno would have about 30 assists a year with Haaland.

A forward that actually wants to run behind a defence. He's worth 300k a week EASILY.

I'm so fed up of watching our strikers just standing still with their backs to goal watching the player with the ball.

His age is not relevant as he's already a top 3 striker in the world.

Only Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski are better/as good.

This guy was born to score goals, he doesn't have days off like our strikers either.

I think we are in for him. Since we paused Sancho where are the clubs that will take our place and spend 80m on him? Sancho is a great player but the clubs arent there to get that high of a fee. Instead we come in with a 100m offer for Haaland in a summer they need to sell.
It could be a grand master move if it worked out that way
