Apparently that website is absolutely garbage and all their results are worthless.
I used to use it and remember asking a question about it and got shot down pretty heavy of a few people for even linking it
haha my bro sent it me a while back, i think my pc will be fine for a good number of years

Apparently the new 3060 being launched does not mine as efficiently as the other cards. This apparently is Nvidia's decision in part to counter miners purchasing all 3070/80/90 stock.
Lets see then. I still can't get a 3080 and if this helps me get an rtx card, then so be it. Those online stock alerts literally last 3 seconds before they're out of stock

Rumours floating about that the 3000 series of cards will be discontinued and rereleased with anti crypto mining.

Feck me, feck me, feck me! FECK ME!!!!

This watercooling shit is an absolute fecking ballache.
I knew the bending would be bastard hard, but feck me, I feel like I need fecking counselling.

That's the swearing out the way

Honestly, though, this is tough going. Getting everything perfect is really difficult. Few mm off and you've just wasted £5 worth of tubing.

How does one mine bitcoin? Can one mine Bitcoin with a single 3080?

I was actually watching some youtube videos about this last night and it's all about hashrates, so how many attempts of solving block problems per second. 3080 would be a great for this, profits would vary depending on your electricity costs but as a passive income you can't go wrong really so long as you have good cooling.

Okay thanks. I’ll have a look later on YouTube.

Speaking of good cooling, are AIO water coolers really worth it over an aftermarket air cooler? My stock AMD one is fine, but pretty noisy (can hear it over all of the case fans) and I'd rather keep the temps a little less during heavy games than they currently run at for the good of my CPU (Ryzen 5 5600X if that makes any difference).

I've got an AIO and idle at 38c and hit 60-65 gaming its a Ryzen too if thats of any help.

only noise in my case is the 3080.

I stupidly skimped on the cooler when I built my PC, got an Arctic Freezer 11 and it's.. not the best. Get around 40-50 idle on my ryzen 3600 and between 60-70 gaming, sometimes up to 75 which makes me a bit uncomfortable. Still, it is quiet. Just bought 4 Noctua case fans to replace the ones I have which I'm hoping helps, and also makes the PC nice and quiet.

Always go with an Aio even if you're not going to OC, the low noise and tidy look is better imo (if that matters to you). I find the huge after market coolers to be very ugly.

I went with the Noctua NH-D15S air cooler, despite being offered a decent deal on on AIO. I don't regret it for a second.

It's near enough silent, and only performs marginally worse than an AIO or even a custom loop. But in terms of maintenance, it's more than worth it, imo.

With a decent air cooler, you never have to worry about catastrophic failures or yearly drainages. You just build it once and never have to mess about again.

Here's a review for the prior version (the NH-D15):

Wait till you need to undo it all and drain the system in 12 months. Then 12 months after that. Then 12 months after that...

3070s and 3090s are still available here in NZ. If anyone is desperate I can ship one over. Prices aren't pretty though and 3080s seem to have all but dried up. I'm also fairly sure the prices has gone up by $1-200 dollars since last week. It's madness.

I got my 6800XT in early February for £900 without too much fuss.

Only problem was that the fans stopped working the other day, so I RMA'ed it. I called the store about it last week and they're sending over a courier to collect it this Friday. I opted for a refund rather than a replacement, because I've lost trust in the manufacturer.

Anyway, at the same time last week, I put in a pre-order for a different 6800XT for only £860. The expected stock date was end of March, so I was expecting to be without a gaming card for about a month until then. But as luck would have it, I got a message a couple of days ago to say the card was ready to be delivered this Thursday.

So I've managed to buy two 6800XT's on two separate occasions (without bots), with overlapping delivery times, and with a £40 discount from the first to the second.

I know this isn't Nvidia as you were talking about, but AMD's best cards can be just as fast if you check my benchmarks above.

The stock is out there for building top end gaming PCs if you're willing to be patient (and also if you get a bit lucky). I did pay a bit of a premium, but it's not like I got taken to the cleaners by scalpers on eBay.

After a week or so with a 240hz monitor if you can afford it and have a pc capable of hitting that framerate you can definitely tell the difference from 144hz.

I've been playing Doom Eternal locked at 240 frames that game is so nice to play at high refresh rate.

Do any of you guys do mining? I've downloaded Kryptex software and I'm mining with a 3080 but in 3 hours I made 9 solutions and 0.2 dollars. And yet, this software is predicting that I will be making $405 a month. I really do not understand what the feck is going on.

Haha I'm too OCD about temps to leave something like this running all the time

So, got my build up and running finally. Only had my GPU about 3months

I ran heaven for three hours and the 3080 doesn't go about 55c
Also ran Prime95 for 30mins and the 5950x sits around 50-55 also.

So really happy with that. In all honesty, I'm just happy it turned on

Slight issue though. Water temp on the GPU side is a bit high! Luckily I added EK inserts so that should hopefully avoid any problems down the line with tubes. If it gets hot in Summer, I'll just switch out to acrylic tubes.

Yolo!

Just replaced all my case fans with Noctua ones and my god it's so lovely and silent now and my CPU temp has even dropped between 5-10 degrees. I'd be tempted to get one of their CPU coolers but it's total overkill for a 3600.

Also feck RGB, nothing like a nice clean build with good cable management

6800XTs are still in stock here for around $1550NZD (about £800). 6800s are $1150 NZD, (£600). It's just more than I want to pay for a GPU. I can get a full, brand new 3060TI pre-build for $2000 NZD (£1050). It's tempting, but when I consider I could have got a 3070 build for the same price only a few weeks ago it's pretty annoying. 3070 pre-builds are still going for about $2300 NZD (£1200). I'd rather build my own, but pre-builds now work out cheaper than buying all the parts separately, which is madness. How are company's just allowed to freely price-gouge on GPUs? Every week prices seem to raise by $100.

Topped my build with 64GB of TridentZ RAM with a 3700X on my x570 Gaming + Wifi Asus board, but the RAM isn't playing nicely

It's stuck at 2133Mhz, I can use Profile 1 to get it to 3606Mhz, but not sure how stable it will be. I've had a reboot yesterday whilst it was running on 2133Mhz, not sure why but it seems maybe the amps weren't enough.

It's now stable for around 24 hours, but will keep it on to see how it goes.
