I think Sevilla will end up 4th. It's a rich man's race between Barca and Madrid for the Top2-3.

Atletico Madrid playing away to Levante now, their game in hand. Currently 1-1 at the 50th minute. Interestingly, they play each other again on the weekend with Atletico Madrid being at home. If they win this match, surely the title race is over.

How is João Felix progressing with Ath. Madrid ?
Started the season looking like he was well on his way to fulfilling his potential, dropped off and is now in the midst of absolutely stinking form. He looks like Martial but he runs around a bit more.

Hope Atletico turn this around, but the football is rubbish. Levante are going to derail their season in the space of 4 days.

Atleti having a real wobble. Good chance for Real Madrid and Barca to close the gap further given who they're playing this weekend.

Unless Atleti are 8 points ahead with five games left or so they can always bottle it. Also this has to be the worst Liga in 17, 18 years.

That was pathetic by Atletico. Felix was awful, Suarez and Llorente miles better than the rest. That Ricard Sanchez guy didn't even look like a professional footballer

It's ok if they have an uninspired game but the lack of attitude for that game is inexcusable. They need their starters back badly

Real closing the gap to Atleti if it stays like this.

Nice. That'll be a sweet avenue of revenue to pumps funds in for the men's team.

"Sponsorship" money. ;)
Well, yes, and in addition to that money, I think Providence, an investment fund, is going to expand the agreement. Florentino also announced that will be candidate again, which will be his last four years.
It's hard not to imagine a excited Florentin about his new stadium and some galactic.
I'm sorry for the girls, but they don't need 150 million :D

Real Madrid weren't great but got the job done Atleti style.

Valladolid really need to go down, offer so little in attack and don't really think they have any interesting players at all in their squad unlike say a Levante who have some nice ball playing midfielders.

I presume they're seen as Burnley type side in Spain?

I'm actually rooting for Madrid right now. Can't stand Simeone and Suarez in one team. I hope they flop in the end and Real takes the title.

Knew Atletico would slip up at some point. They were so many points ahead at one stage. Just give Real the title now.

Still, its honestly laughable if Atletico bottle this league.
They were 13 points ahead(potentially), now that is cut down to 6, it would be the biggest bottlejob in la liga history.

We REALLY did not deserve to win this one. Massively outplayed by Valladolid, if it weren't valladolid we would have lost....

Worrying stuff

What on earth happened in Spain? How did the champions-elect suddenly get drawn into a title race?

A win is a win. 3 points is all that matters. I can't believe you were 13 points behind your neighbour at one stage and now just 3 with them having a game in hand. If you come back to win La Liga again, it will be funny yet sad for Atletico Madrid and this will only reinforce Zidane's legacy further. Funny how Zidane always seem to have a knack of turning hopeless situations around. There is also Barca but there is too much mess going on behind the scenes with them that I don't see them keeping a consistent run.

Gave up watching last 15 minutes of our half to watch end of Barca game....what a clueless bunch. Constantly wasting counter attacks by passing to Braithwaite, Pique pretty much standing offside for whole of injury time and although didn't think there was much contact for penalty they had countless opportunities to clear on edge of the box but kept slicing clearances.

Cadiz penalty was their only shot on target and they've really slumped in form last two months.

Yes I had them in my accy. Had first 4 results come up so only needed them to hang on and Man. United to win.

How do you draw at home to Cadiz. Athletic Club put four into them at their place last week. Are Barcelona really that woeful?

I wouldn’t mind RM winning it, would be funny after all the (harsh) criticism Zidane has been getting.

Lenglet is the biggest joke i've seen at CB in a while.
That said, Barca should score more than 1 against this Cadiz-side.

Yeah, I really don't care how we do it as long as we're able to collect 3 points and keep them within this margin until we get to play them. I believe we can win the league if we get our shit together, which isn't granted, and Atlético might blame themselves if the lead they had gets overcome but that's their problem (it would definitely suck for them if they not capitalize on Real Madrid and Barcelona being in such a mess right now though).

Some shocking performances in CL. Genuinely wonder if Mbappe and Haaland still look at Real or Barca and think "yeah, I gotta go there".

Liverpool beat us 5-0 on aggregate. And then Cristiano left back-to-back CL finalist for us anyways

I mean, maybe Mbappé/Haaland go somewhere else anyways, but it won't be because la liga is shite these days

That was also during that period when you would outspend everyone. Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema and Xabi Alonso in one window? Add those few defenders you've also signed and that's like spending £350-400m this summer. And you could add maybe 20% before covid.

And other than City/PSG we still can/do

Why not? It's fecking real madrid
Maybe because it's going to take years and a lot of money (that the club might not have atm) once Ramos or Modric are gone to be competitive in CL. Benzema is also 33. I mean, Casemiro is your second best goal scorer with 5 goals or something in Liga, there's some huge roster problems. They could totally wait a couple of years until the team is balanced and come to spain (since the same goes for Barcelona) once they're 27 or something.

We're going to have a great summer, you'll see.this summer and summer 2022, since the stadium is theoretically inaugurated in December 2022, but I think we are going to get one of the two + some extra surprise.
At this point I think it is clear that we will have to put our pants down with Raiola
However about Mbappé ...

Let's imagine that they agree to negotiate and that they ask us between 150 million and 200 million.
Suppose we have the money. Credits, sales, or including players.
I think the problem comes later. Neymar earns 30 net, if I'm not mistaken, and I imagine that he will renew for a similar amount.
I understand that it is reasonable that in one last attempt PSG will try to offer Mbappé a great contract, similar to Neymar.

Madrid cannot reach 30, and I wonder if they can reach 20. Even giving him a little more image rights, is it enough?
Is he going to give up 30 or 40 million of the total contract? I don't know if he has the desire that Cristiano had.
It is possible that he decides not to renew, and come for free, and with the transfer bonus trying to compensate the salary difference.
But is an elite player going to risk breaking a knee with 6 months left?

But the club is not competitive in CL already :D

Yeah, and Ramos/Modric are still your best players with Benzema. Kinda shows there's a huge rebuilding job ahead. In general, Liga clubs made terrible choices since 2017 in their recruitment (the worst being obviously Barcelona).
I mean, Hazard, Jovic, Griezmann, Coutinho, Dembele, Felix, Lemar, Vinicius, Militao, Malcom, Guedes, Lenglet, Mendy, Rodrygo...
You have close to 1 billion in useless transfers (so far, some players are still good though) among the top clubs.
