This camera positioning is a joke. Clubs should be forced to have proper facilities at this level.
I swear the last game I watched it was just filmed by someone on the bench with an iPad or something.

So Shola has to have been drafted into the senior squad for Chelsea

Are you the ref?
The combination of the bad camera positioning and the demented screaming from the sidelines makes this a pretty hard watch.

No idea how that hasn't gone in.

Hugil takes the ball off the keeper after some bizzare keeping, he has his first shot saved off the line by the defender then his second attempt hits the far post.

Was enjoying watching Hannibal, Amad and Shola for the U23’s....a bit sad that they’re with the first team because they won’t play. It’s probably best for their development to an extent but also they need to actually play.

Southampton's number 9 having a rotten few minutes; misses an open net with a header then hits a gift of a one on one straight at Kovar.

They will still play u23 if they are training with the first team. Just got to travel seperate tot he games. Amad and Shoretire must be in the squad for tomorrow so.

With the way we handled Greenwood and co. I think Shoretire and Amad are both full seniors now.
Shoretire has just turned 17, I don't think he's a full senior now. But he's been involved in the last few squads and have had playing time for the senior team so more than likely he's being given a rest for this one. Combined with Injuries on Cavani etc, could be in the squad for tomorrow.

Diallo however, I think will be featuring for the U23 more infrequently.

Where has Max Taylor been all season? He has really bulked up since I saw him last.
Was on loan at Kidderminster but their league got scrapped so we got him back.

Also Southampton score with an admittedly very good strike.

Injuries and threadbare bench is why they were fast tracked into full senior squad especially Shoretire.
Possibly, but by the sounds of it we were planning to fast track Shoretire the second he signed his pro deal. Obviously Amad was bound to be put in the first team at first opportunity due to his price tag.

He's got a lot of potential but he's very slightly built. A long way from being able to push for a spot in a starting lineup.

Wow, that's a fantastic goal, what a touch from McCann. 1-1.

Fantastic double from McCann. He’s so much better further up the field. The deep role just doesn’t suit him at all, I don’t get why we’ve played him there so much.

That's another really well taken goal by McCann.

Finished 2-1. Dug in well and earned that result. The U23s have fantastic resilience.

Great turnaround in the last ten minutes.

The U23's are obviously not as good to watch without the individual skill and creativity of the likes of Hannibal, Shoretire, Amad, Pellistri, Elanga.

However they worked hard and fully deserved at least a point from that game so delighted they finally got their rewards late on. 3 in 2 for McCann - really stepping up in a more advanced midfield role without our main attacking threat.

Don't tell most of the experts on the mains as "patterns of play" are more important.

Funny you say that because Neil Wood's team has a clear pattern and style. A very well-drilled team who almost every game play fantastic football and score loads.

Do you watch the youth teams? Patterns of play and individual moments of genius are combined. First team I’m still not sure what the plan is other than give it to Bruno or Marcus and see what happens.

We are supposed to be creating overloads with the fullbacks on the wings (but our wingers are strikers and not creative) getting the ball forward to Bruno as quickly as possible through Fred and Scott pressing in the middle. We only have one functioning wing and martial who’s scared of scoring though... playing out from the back. so that’s what happened to these patterns everyone has gone mad for. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a ball whipped across the 6 yard box to absolutely nobody, maguire missing a free header from 5 yards, the lads going 1 on 1 and whacking it at the keeper when it’s easier to score or not looking up and making the pass instead of holding onto the ball for too long. It’s not the system/managers fault our players aren’t making the right decisions and the recruitment still isn’t in place to play dominant attacking football every week. I doubt he wants to throw them under the bus for making poor decisions in games and it’s being kept in house. It doesn’t mean there aren’t patterns of play or the coaching is bad. These things take time to fix or replace

I was really worried for McCann as there were so many talented midfielders ahead of him this time last year. But its great to see that hes really stepping up his game.

Think you are going a bit overboard
Strange post. I just said how it is? They play good football? They score loads? They have a clear idea of how they build up their play? It's not like I think that our U23 would win the World Cup just because they do all that pretty well.
