Really can't wait for this Solskjaer experiment to be over. He's quite clearly not a shit coach and he's done ok but imagine what could happen with a capable coach in charge. Please don't reference Van Gaal and Mourinho in response, both who were past it.
Also while someone like Nagelsmann is a risk, Ole would always be happy to come back and steady the ship again if it goes South. To stop looking altogether because he's doing just about enough is indeed Arsenal under past it Wenger mentality. Anyone watching our current football and deterioration since we went top of the league is codding themselves thinking we'll suddenly turn into title challengers under him and his band of average coaches.

Progress should be judged on seasons, ie this season so far vs the same point last season. Cherry picking dates is what people with agendas do and proves absolutely nothing.
Normally I'd agree, but I think last season was so unusual in terms of the difference between pre and post Fernandes that it should also be judged. Not on points or achievements, but just in terms of pure ability - is our football better than how it was post lockdown?

Give him the season, thanks for a couple of top 4s, let’s go our separate ways.

I know this won’t happen but it should. People have been saying for weeks that sooner or later the results would start reflecting the performances. Have we really improved as much as some people make out, don’t see it...

This performance is unacceptable. Please can we just have a system, coaching to that system and players bought for it.

We had improved for sure but for some inexplicable we've just as quickly regressed. Soon as we hit the top spot we for some reason went to shit.

You agree, but you'll persist with cherry picking dates to prove a point nonetheless.

Momentum manager. He looks absolutely clueless every time we go on a bad run of form. Completely out of ideas recently. Not for the first time.

Our players are poorly coached. How many times we saw them standing around like a statue

I think we’re better than than 2 years ago, certainly, but I just don’t think it’s that significant in the grand scheme of things. Going from ultra defensive to cautiously probing is hardly worthy of some of the praise you see on here.

The football has gone really stale and teams now know the formula to stop utd from scoring.

It's also a lack of a system and playing two or three different systems to keep the opposition guessing. All top coaches know they can't rely on one system or an individual to create chances.

I just don't see Ole as a coach to improve the players or team. In fact I think he's over achieving given the football utd play. Utd look more like a mid table side in the majority of matches. There has been a hint of good fortune, about a number of results this season, that on another day utd could find themselves down in 8th.

As some have said, give him until the end of the season, if he lands a trophy he gets until the end of the year. Failing that let him go.

Persisting with him is a mistake but it’s also inevitable, as long as he is cheap to sack the length of contract is pretty irrelevant.

I actually think Ole is safe even if we don’t finish top 4 which is looking like a real possibility now.

Gutless performance and Ole stood there arms crossed. No inspiration or tactical nous. Our top 4 spot could be in danger considering we have a pretty tough run in

I hope we don’t make the top 4 because that’s the only way he gets sacked unfortunately with our stupid owners.

He needs another 250m to get "his type of players" in.

He should be sacked at the end of the season. We've seen enough of him to know he's not a proper manager for a big team. He only knows how to counter and if luck is not on our side we can't win.

He only needs another 15 players and he'll be a world class manager. I have seen the light.

At least in Mourinho’s second season, we were fluking the results with mediocre performances. Can’t see us surely stumbling into second now.

I am a fan of the work Ole has done at the club so far, he has freshened out the team somewhat and I think he has made this a good club to play for again for younger players. He has improved us on the pitch and barring a bad finish to the season (which could happen) will have us finishing in a good position in the league.

Though I’m not in a rush to sack the man, I’m also in no rush to renew his contract either. For me he was the guy who held fort until we find the right manager be that Poch, Nagelsmann or whoever.

He needs to get an attacking coach on his team and let go of some of the water carriers on his staff, failing that he's heading in one direction.

It does speak volumes that no club will want him as manager, we could run his contract down to 1 month remaining and he'll have no offers from a Premier league team, or any team in the "top 5 leagues".

I'd love to know why looking at the best football we played last season and analyzing whether we built on it and improved is wrong...

No need to renew the contract. At the moment I'd rather part ways at the end of the season. Feeling like we missed a golden opportunity with Poch being available after Basaksehir, but it is what it is.

In game management is shocking.
Two holding midfielders again and we wonder why we havn't created much.
A one trick pony.

You can put money on his contract being extended the next time we pick up a win. This club is run by idiots.

I wish i could say otherwise, given he is a club legend, but i dont think he is good enough. And signing Sancho or Haaland would not have made a difference tonight. The whole team was toxic.

We are not coached in how to break down teams. We rely on individual brilliance rather than collective brilliance.

I agree with the poster who said we should go all out for Nagglesman in the summer.

Have we got £500m laying around for him to spend on the obvious talented individual players? There are times I think his endgame is basically fill the XI and the bench with obviously talented individual players and let them figure it out for themselves on the field because theyre all superstars and one of them is bound to produce a goal to win a game at worst... and he can just steamroll the opposition on sheer individual talent alone... at the cost of hundreds of millions

Otherwise he isn’t getting any better than what we’re seeing.

All over the place
Saying this regardless of Palace result (couldn't watch the whole game). Tuchel and Poch just got 18 months contract and will be evaluated properly next season which can also be their last easily.

No problem with both of them, zero problems for club stability as for some strange reason those clubs decided that manager is not the be-all and end-all for their desired results and zero problems in terms of players/transfers.

Evaluate him at the end of this season if this drop of form continues. Evaluate him next season if he gets top 4. Let's not be daft here.

I would die inside If he gets a new deal. It's not the club I grew up supporting to appreciate this level of coaching and mentality to win.

We'll only go backwards next season with him in charge and we have wasted far too many years already
