You're talking out of your arse as I say, you cannot watch this and tell me ANYONE can think Keane's challenge was the worst he's seen, it's hyperbolic nonsense.

It's not really. It was a pretty bad challenge as were the others you're posting. You seem really upset about someone having an opinion that isn't even that crazy given the circumstances.

And no, I don't personally think it's the worst challenge I've seen.

His dad literally couldn't give less of a shit about this when it comes to deciding which club is best for his son.

If we miss out it's because of either money or lack of a perceived viable sporting project.

It’s a good article which generally shines a fair light on both sides of the story, but what’s about the nonsense at the start that described Bernstein as a renowned nice guy in the football world? He sounds like a whiny, hypocritical git, and I’ve never heard of him before this.

Of course I can and I'm sure there are plenty of people that can show other challenges they feel are worse than the ones you're posting. Doesn’t make your opinion hyperbolic, the same way Bernstein saying, in his opinion, its the worse challenge he's seen.
It's disingenuous because he is in effect telling you that he never saw the Ben Thatcher challenge (which I guarantee he has) and that his opinion it is the worst thing on a pitch. I don't believe him.

It was a terrible thing to do the way Haaland was up in the air makes it worse looking than it was though. If I’m a young Haaland I’d have that in my head when it comes to signing for us. It’s not the worst tackle I’ve ever seen however remember Ward on Eduardo.

It's a bad tackle, nasty. But it's clearly not the worst thing anyone has seen on a football pitch.

Ahhh. We always get this rehashing of this incident and the pundit or football person who brings it up pretends it was twenty times worse than it is and usually lies that it ended Haaland career.

If you’ve read any footballer from the 70’s 80’s or 90’s autobiography you would see that a premeditated filthy foul on an opposition player was commonplace. And if you’ve watched any football from those eras you will see those challenges multiple times in game.

other times you can see a straight up fist fight.

Keane doesn't work for the club any more. If Haaland rejects United it should be firstly for footballing reasons and perhaps financial reasons.

Eh. He played the rest of the game, played four days later in another game, then had surgery on his other knee at the end of the season which ended his career. Cant even be bothered to read the article.

No one who brings this up nowadays actually cares about Alfe Ing Haaland or the Keane incident, they just want to manipulate Erling into not moving here, or at least put doubts into his mind.

Him being forced to be a city fan or a leeds fan as a youngster would be reason enough, not because his dad got injured by an ex player 20+ years ago.

Despite the fact that Haaland finished the game and played for Norway 4 days later (though not the entire match, I'm not sure he ever played a full 90 minutes again)

All that aside it was a cnut of a tackle and Keane deserved his red and fine and subsequent fine for profiting from it in his first book.

It wasn’t nice but neither is standing over somebody who has just lacerated an ACL and screaming at them for feigning injury.
Indeed. It's a wonder why nobody brings this up. Even if ti doesn't justify Keane's actions, to do that to someone like Keane was also pathetic.

It will be for footballing reasons but he’s not a robot it’s bound to cross his mind at some point.

I've always had a feeling the connection his dad has to our club will prevent him ever wearing red.
From the horses mouth
If you care about the horse’s mouth, here’s what Alf-Inge said to TV2 in 2019 when asked about Erling going to United:

“It would be nice. It is important to distinguish between being a supporter and a job.

“So I have a very relaxed relationship with that. It’s a little different when it’s serious. Yes, I think most players dream of being in the Premier League at one time or another.

“It’s the league that gets the most attention around, and it has very good quality teams. There is no doubt the Premier League is attractive to him.”

Again, that's an opinion. I agree I think Thatchers "challenge" was much worse but someone saying they thought Keane on Halaand was worse isn't hyperbole, even if you disagree.
I don't think you know what hyperbole means is the only conclusion I can draw here.

It was brutal, raw and an act of vengeance. He admitted that and hasn't shown any remorse. Whether I've seen worse on a football field is irrelevant. People having problems with him sitting in a studio and having an attitude is understandable. I'm not one of them but he's going to have to live with that. Probably doesn't give a feck anyway.

Absolutely.

And cos it’s Keane that’s probably why it constantly brought up.

Timing of this considering all the Haaland summer rumours.
Thought so too, everything on this topic has been said and is known. And Keane has never hidden from it. So it's all very convenient reminding us that Haaland snr got done by a United legend.
That said if the message is "beware of United", maybe junior should join us just so he can avoid being on the receiving end of such treatment, hilarious.

Playing for the club where the fans regularly ridicule and victim blame his Dad for that incident. He wouldn't want a thing to do with United even if we had the "project", which we don't. People are being naïve if they think otherwise.

It was a bad tackle, but it's hardly the worst thing ever to happen on a football pitch. Unless it's the only really bad tackle he's ever seen.

Leonardo's elbow was worse.

Ben Thatcher on Mendes was worse.

Bosvelt on Irwin was worse.

Ruddock on Cole was worse.

De Jong on Alonso was worse.

And I am pretty sure Kevin Muscat has done worse.

Muscat stepping onto a football field is bad enough.

Don’t be soft. Players join teams that have players who have fouled them directly. He won’t give a shit that one of our ex players once fouled his dad.

And there’s teams players wouldn’t go near either even if they are a better side, if it’s me choosing between City or United a team my dad played for or a bitter rival that this happened to my dad, I think it would come into consideration.

It's the fact I do understand what hyperbole means that I've called out posters incorrectly using the term.
A person claiming something is "From a personal point of view, that was the worst individual thing I’ve been directly involved in, and the worst I’ve ever seen on the pitch. As a human being, it was an awful thing to see.”, despite that being their opinion is clearly a hyperbolic statement. It is a ridiculously exaggerated claim and opinion does not change that. Furthermore, I'm fairly sure that he knows it is a ridiculously exaggerated claim.

I can claim that Mrs. Brown's Boys is the worst thing every to be unleashed by man on man, and that may be my opinion, but it would clearly be a hyperbolic statement.

If that’s the case then Ole’s relationship with Haaland would also tilt the scales a bit.

Tbf mate, Mrs brown's boys might just be the worst thing ever unleashed. Possibly second after K-pop.

Weird seeing all the space outside the touch lines. I thought City had the widest pitch in the land?

Here's 6 minutes proving how hyperbolic that statement is.

He said its the worst thing HE has seen on the pitch. That is subjective and you can't use your own standards to evaluate his views. You don't even know kw if has seen any of the tackles in that video.

By the way, saying one is the worst doesn't mean there aren't any others of similar notoriety.

On the topic of most shocking things I’ve seen on a football pitch - Mings stamping on Zlatan’s head is the one for me. I was genuinely flabbergasted.
Yeah actually mental that happened.

Of course it's subjective, but that's like justifying me saying this is the worst post I've ever seen, by saying you can't argue because it's my point of view. Of course you can, because it's clearly not.
