If anyone hasn't watched Patrick Melrose I would recommend that. Thought it was excellent.

Currently watch The Man in The High Castle. I’m enjoying it. Just on S3 but I’m so confused. I took a long break after season 1 and that “Vision” scene, I thought was just a cool shot and not had anything to do with the story. But I only started S2 only a few days ago. So I’d appreciate if someone can clear this up.

So this is all happening at the same time but there’s people who should be dead , are alive in the now. So there’s like an Alternate dimension? Or is it some kind of back to the future thing.

Anyone watched Marvel's cloak and dagger? It's ok up to episode 6. A bit slow in progressing the plot. Should I persist if anyone has watched it? Does it get more sapphire and steel or not?

Watching mad men for the first time, think id put it as an all time favourite.

Cant forget the scene where chauncey the dog is unleashed.

OK there was only 6 episodes in season 1. Very much felt like they are testing the water with this one before committing to making more.

Thought it was decent though, better than expected. There's a lot of potential in the story here but certainly things they could do better if they commit to it.
Has a lot wrong with it, paper thin characters, basically have a Kiss cover band front man as the leader of the main bad guys, a cut price Katniss clone as one of the leads, wild pacing, but it still works and is engaging for its flaws.

Just finished mini series Your Honor on Showtime/HBO, decent start but got a bit cheesy and stupid towards the end.

Still recommend it though.

Wayne - Rated 8.4 on IMDB and well deserved. In a similar vain to 'the end of the fecking world, with two teens running away on a bloody, gritty adventure but strays far enough from the norm to be interesting. I really like the style and the humour - had some genuinely laugh out loud moments. I'd recommend watching the first episode - it's very good - and it's free on prime currently and they need enough viewers to watch it so that they can hopefully get greenlit for a season 2.

Firefly - An old space western that got cancelled after one season, rated 9/10 on IMDB so got curious. 3 episodes in and I already think it's great, rich characters and well written dialogue and stories.

Lucky, I wish I could watch Firefly for the first time again. It's awesome.

Antidisturbios/Riot police.
I liked it.Very popular some months ago. Criticized by the political right (for criminalizing the police) and by the left (for justifying violence).
I do not know if it is available with subtitles on any platform

I gave up on this part way through second season. Just thought it was too slow for my liking.

On last episode of The Queena Gambit. It’s ok but probably don’t rate it as highly as others. Has anyone seen Sons of Anarchy? Is that any good?
I love The Queen's Gambit. Son's of Anarchy is great initially but jumps the shark once it moves to NI.

Behind her eyes. Another show trying to be clever but falls flat. I wouldn't recommend this unless you like shit TV.

People buzzing with its ending saying it's great and they didn't see it coming. Yes, nobody could see that coming until the final 10 mins because it leaves a massive part of it out until then.

You could rewatch it knowing what you know, and what to look out for, but till that last 15mins when something is revealed, that's all that matters.

Too many shows do this now, think they're very clever and intelligent with some amazing twist, but it's not a twist. Just deception as they don't give you the info to figure it out. Explaining it all at the end with new information isnt a twist. It's bullshit.

The acting in Sons of Anarchy is up there with Hollyoaks and Home & Away.
Yep. It was a decent show but people just bummed it because they thought they were part of the SOA. Deals 10er bits of weed on their bmxs and wore a leather vest.

Show had so many dumb plots and decisions.

:lol::lol:

forgot about that bit!!

I stand by my comment though. I’m sure something puts him back in the good books
Before starting season 3, I was thinking the only chance of redemption for Ciro was for him to sacrifice his life for some greater good for humanity.

I don't know if sacrificing his life for the life of a another selfish murderer, who didn't avenge the murder of his mother, and that got his Dad killed, count as that. At the same time, he sacrifices his life for a friend, putting somebody else's interests first, before his own, for the first time.

I'm team Pietro Savastano. Enjoyed his spell with Patrizia (Rooting for her. Beautiful woman). They could have been the power couple to rule and bring peace to Napoli.

With that said, I did felt a bit of compassion for Ciro in the end, and felt relief Gennaro didn't got murdered. These new generations of gangsters have no honor code. They betray each other for the smallest suspicions.

That Rat piece of shit Valerio hopefully suffers the most painful death of the show.

Onto season 4....

Started watching Better Call Saul this week. I finished season 1 and watched 2 episodes of season two. While the show is clearly not bad, it's not really gripping me at the moment. Not sure if it really picks up and kicks on from here, but there's nothing so far that's compelling me to keep going. I will stick with it for now because I've read so many good things about it, but slightly disappointed so far.

It has great performances and it is well produced, but it does suffer from becoming a bit drawn out and storylines that aren't super interesting take a while to work through.

I'd definitely recommend the German series Babylon Berlin (excellent show) and, to a lesser extent, but still a very good watch, the French series Bureau.

Strange that you should mention that, I was literally reading about it about two days ago when I was looking for things to watch. It sounds really interesting so I'll definitely give that a go.

I'll continue with Better Call Saul for now, but yeah, it's well-acted and well written (as you would expect) but not really going anywhere for me, yet. I'll watch this season and see how it goes. I know many seem to prefer it to Breaking Bad

Yeah, I cannot recommend it enough. The music, the sets, the attention to detail, the storylines, it has everything. And it's better than anything else I've seen in recent years.

Reg. BCS, I wanted it to be better than Breaking Bad, but if you're after entertainment it is a few levels below IMO.

Gets better, but nothing close to breaking bad. Quite forgettable to be honest.

Sounds good. Like a german boardwalk empire? Might watch after finishing Gomorrah.

Just finished watching Your Honour. Starring and directed by Brian Cranston. Thought it was great, and feels like he has taken some influence from Breaking Bad in terms of how it’s directed. Hard to put my finger on exactly what the similarities are though.

The first two seasons of better call Saul are really slow, it sort of has to be as the show needs to explain and show the viewers a lot of the relationships between the characters we have never met before but obviously play a major role in Jimmys life and career. In my opinion if you watch all of season 3 and still aren't to keen I would stop watching as i feel season 3 is when the show starts to pick up pace and get closer to the feel of breaking bad. Mike has a lot more to do in season 3 as well, and you start to see him becoming more of the man that we see in breaking bad.
