Surely this from Miguel Delaney is BS

Some say that he is considered so good that it is one reason why United have dropped their interest in Jadon Sancho. They expect Amad, who has been likened in style to Riyad Mahrez, to be even better.
I mean it was a nice goal but he still looks at least a season or two away from being a regular starter. I mean he wasn't even that for Atalanta whereas Ronaldo and Rooney both had quite few games under their belts at Sporting and Everton before they came and tore it up for United. He could even end up on loan next season.

I think a different manager could well have shown more attacking intent to get a second goal. Is that fair to assume?

Drop Bruno next to Matic or McTominay and bring Diallo on in the #10 role. Show some intent to get the second goal playing at home.
1-0 would have been a good result. Milan with all their hard work and quality hardly came close to scoring in the second half. Again, much like Everton last-minute panic and defending too deep cost us the game. I don't think Ole had many options to change the course of the game.

On Diallo it was telling Maguire in his post-match interview said he was getting stronger by the day and can see the potential and a great future. Unless injuries force Ole to play Diallo too much with what remains of this season I think a good pre-season and he'll have a bigger role next season.

Goal aside, I saw some decent understanding/movement between him and Bruno + Greenwood. Early days of course.

I think this lad is on a different level but needs more quality around him and more first team minutes to shine. across his limited minutes so far he has the slightest tendency to over dribble. Expected at his age.

Really looks good in terms of what he can do with the ball.

Excellent goal and really happy for him.

Hope he breaks into the starting 11 sooner rather than later but right now I feel he is still a bit too raw and this season may be too soon for him. Hopefully maybe next season? But it depends what we do in the transfer market. I still think we should sign another RW and let the new RW, Diallo and Greenwood fight it out.

Yeah I am hoping we will do that too but you know our owners look for any excuse to save spending some money even though that position is easily high priority with CB & DM

Wonder will he start or will ole pack the midfield instead? I can see him playing Telles on the left ahead of Shaw or vice versa

He just doesn't look ready to come and bear the responsibility in one of the biggest games of the season, not if there are other options. He will get mins in second leg versus Milan I'd say since we don't seem to care at all about that tie haha

What it translates to is this: We don't want to spend the money.

I mean that’s definitely a possibility but after the match tonight where he didn’t get any game time when James was pretty ineffectual I just don’t see that he’s the answer (at least not for a couple of seasons).

Not the right game for him to come on today, James was shite in attack but it could have been a disaster if Amad came on today.

Because James is tireless in his defensive work and would be a pointless risk to bring diallo in incase he did lose someone at some time, he’s still new, there’ll be time for Him to play, if we’d gone two up today then I think we would have seen him play a bit.

I thought the same due to how much of our attack was going down that right hand side towards the end of the game. Diallo is still an unproven talent so it would have been a lot like throwing him at the deep end. He might have swam but it's always better to bring him on young players when there's less pressure. Shoretire the same.

It was really tight and James was essential to our defensive play when West Ham were really going at us. I think it might have been tough to adapt to the game for him.
Yeah will admit I am usually the first to jump on Ole for slow subs but think he called it right

Serious question. Never watched this guy for Atalanta but was it a wise decision for us to spend a chunk of our war chest on him considering our current needs?

The only natural right winger in the squad needs to be getting more minutes. He's had nearly a full season on the bench for Atalanta and Utd combined.

Should go on loan asap for his own best. 10 minutes every now and then in this side will not do him any good whatsoever.

Being mismanaged like crazy. Should be getting at least thirty minutes every game. Arm around shoulder. It's okay to make mistakes. Express yourself to your fullest and all that.

Honestly should have thrown him on as soon as it went 3-1 (I was thinking 5 minutes before as were losing and needing a goal and don't need two DMs)

Bring the kid on when we're 3-1 up and coasting with 10 minutes to go, not when we're 3-1 down. Totally unfair to do that to him.

Would've been nice to see him go wide and beat the man but instead kept cutting inside the whole time and get swallowed up.

This is my problem with this signing. We don't have the luxury of spending a significant amount of money on potential. If he's not good enough to perform now Ole needs to answer for the signing. No other manager in world football can spend 30 million on a player in covid times and not play him. Signing makes absolutely no sense.

Looked very raw and easily brushed off the ball. I agree we should be giving him more game time though
Usually when people say "brushed off" that normally implies a body-to-body contact duel that was lost. So far as I remember from six minutes, he was dispossessed but not through a physical altercation.

We're never 3-1 up or in a position to have a two goal lead, so, you see the problem right there. He'd never play if only the optimal set of circumstances permitted. Furthermore, Fergie often used young and inexperienced players in somewhat pressure filled occasions because he understood that exposure to it was beneficial, not a hindrance, to their development, so long as the communication from the bench is that the player is free to make mistakes.

We beat a team 9-0 recently. We've had a few good games this season to be fair. I understand what you're saying though. But play the kid in a game he can have a chance in.
