Football the real winner there against such a negative Moyes side.

Hard earned and deserved and very important win. Shaw and Greenwood among the stand outs.

In the box seat now for a top 4 finish but a bit early to get carried away yet as Leicester proved last season.

Just point to this game when Moyes fans come out of the woodwork, perfect example of why he isn't fit for this club especially against a team that struggles against pressing teams and has a shakey defence.

Did people not watch Shaw or something in this game that somehow people have Harry as MOTM and highest rated?

Job done after a difficult game in Europe on Thursday against well rested bus parking merchants and their airbus parking manager.

Where was your 1992/1995 performance today West Ham?

Phew, needed to grind a win today. I think we all thought it was going to be a game of limited golden opportunities. Henderson didn't need to do much, but I feel calm when I see him defending corners, except for the Milan incident

Maguire and shaw for me were very good. Rashford too and Bruno was showing some quality in his deliveries and long range efforts even when it was a difficult game.

Where the grass is greener.
Don’t think the performance was worth the beaming smile that Ole had.

I love United and love the 3 points but I struggled to make it through the game awake. We need to improve and convert a lot more chances than we have been recently.
The Ole smile police are relentless  give it a rest.

Could have been 4 albeit for some good goalkeeping from Fabianski and the post!
3 points - in the top 4 context we’re now 9 clear of West Ham in 5th. Let’s now consolidate 2nd and finish the season on a high

Really poor quality in the final third. We did well to manage the game in the end but really it should've been killed off 20 minutes earlier.

They did absolutely nothing, and even with the sub they made, they still didn't do much to harm us.
No wonder Moyes has such a bad record against the big clubs. They are flying, we stumbled last home game, surely they should have at least tried to attacked before going one down?!

Solid win, should've been more convincing but we weren't clinical enough. Any problems West Ham looked liked causing us seemed to come from our insistence of passing it out from the back even though we looked uncomfortable doing so.

Terrible attacking play from both sides, now a frequent occurrence with Utd.

Welcome 3 points the only positive but just don't see where this team is going under Ole.

We controlled the game and should have won by 3 or more.

Ole made a huge mistake not subbing Rashford off. The guy is injured, barely playing, badly out of form and could barely walk since 55th minute mark. Shocking to keep him on for 90 minutes.

That was an absolutely perfect performance from Harry Maguire. Genuinely one of the best performances I've seen anyone wearing a united shirt put in, in a very long time.

Great win, extending the gap with 5th place. I am good as long as we finish top 3. How we did not score more than 1 goal? Greenwood was good except scoring, Rushford is so average. Let's finish high and challenge for the league next year.

3 points all that matters, luckily the talking points aren't Ole's no subs and James being a League Two player.

Maguire absolutely class tonight, Shaw very good and Lindelof didn't put a foot wrong. But wow for long periods we were dull. Not enough width, not enough creativity in midfield - and there's fek all good to being pacy (and I'm not sure we are all that anyway), if you then pass to the fecking opposition.

Yes, take the win but it wasn't pretty. and I'd love to know what game Ole was watching to make him think we didn't need to change things. Sorry, but he isn't a United manager by a long, long way

We won and played quite well so I'm happy! Until the 1st goal, it was a bit of a nervy affar as we were struggling to create any decent chances but once West Ham opened up, we could and should have got the 2nd. Still, good performance and top 4 seems like a safe bet now.

Gotta say, though, Rice is a hell of a player. Would not mind him one bit in our team...

Good before the goal. Bad after the goal.

Still the issue with breaking down defences continues. Not surprisingly.
But we did look likely to score, so that's a plus.

Wonder how many times I'm going to read "Will take the win, but it wasn't pretty." I swear I've seen it for most of this season.

Important 3 points, even though it was a scrappy win.

Still doesn’t answer any of the questions about our inability to break down deep defending and again our attacking players showed they are really poor in so many areas.
Rashford hardly ran in for anything in the box, when balls and crosses were fed in from the right. Just stood there looking, as usual and reacting when it was too late.

I also thought Fred played better than Bruno for most of the match. His forward passing and passing out to the wings was 100% for a change.

Somebody is going to have to explain to me what Rice can do but McTominay can't.
It’s really hard to judge what he can do with tactics like that, but I can’t see he’s worth anything like the prices quoted.

McTominay has to sort out his passing though.

Why no subs, Ole?

James is like a frolicking puppy but he was still our best attacking player. Both CBs did well today. Overall our team is not creative enough, not enough quality. I think we should try using Rashford and Greenwood as a front 2 and scrap the 4231, especially against sides we know are going to just sit deep and play for the draw.

Greenwood, Shaw and Maguire all very good, wan bissaka and mctominay dreadful, the rest somewhere between poor and average. Happy with the 3 points but we need to improve

Very good game.
We were the better team by far until we scored.
It was a hard task to score because West Ham were very compact and defended well.
We should have won by 3 if Greenwood had some luck...
Very solid performance.

We hit the post twice, Rashford should have scored, were down to bare bones, and West Ham are very good defensively. Take the w and stop moaning

It feels like we are grinding out our way to finishing 2nd. Its starting to hurt my eyes. Having said that WH are one of the tougher sides to beat this season.

Vital 3 points against a top 4 rival.

Team looked knackered but many do this season. Expect a lot of youngsters to get a game v Milan or Leicester or both.

I think we played well. In regard to our injuries and tired players. Good result and performance by the players and the manager.

Deserved to win. In control for 90% of the game. We struggled to break down West Ham’s parked bus but the we always struggle when teams sit in deep..
Shaw and Maguire excellent, Greenwood looked our biggest threat and was unlucky his shot hit the post.
Rashford dosnt look fit to me and had a very quiet game, He stuck out wide far to often. Too many times we had no one in the box...

back up to 2nd.. a good evening.

A very important win to cap off an excellent weekend of results. Thought Maguire and Shaw were brilliant. Greenwood unlucky not score.

Great win. That makes the top 4 picture look a lot more comfortable after this weekend. The result was always the main thing.

Positives:
Maguire was immense
Shaw continued his excellent form. Doesn't grab the headlines like Fernandes, but has a good case to be our most consistent player of the year.
Greenwood looked a bit livelier than in recent months and was unlucky not to grab a goal.

Negatives:
James is too limited. Not an earth shattering opinion. His form has actually been decent in this current run of games, but he doesn't have the ability in those key moments.
Rashford was invisible for most of the second half. His form is abysmal right now. He looks like a liability at times.
Ole, make a bloody sub and don't invite pressure on ourselves when we're holding on to a narrow lead.

Meh game....

Luke Shaw is epic.

But something that is feeling more and more apparent every game...

Our two key positions for the summer aren't CB or CF....

Its the whole right side. He has his qualities, but we are going to struggle to compete with the best with a footballer as average as AWB in the side. And our RW options are crap.

We win games whilst only being able to attack from one side of the pitch....

If we keep Pogba, and all of our current CF options... if I could only sign 2 players in the summer, it would be a top class RB and RW.

Always potential for West Ham to turn into Prime Brazil side so good to put them to the sword. Scrappy and no doubt some will be saying we should be doing better but that is utter cowardly football from Moyes.

Luke Shaw once again decent as was Maguire. James looks like he is also improving as well which is a welcome addition. Just get over the next two games and rest the lads up with 'slight knocks, little niggles', sorry Soutgate.
