I don't agree with that/ Ndidi plays for Leicester and Shaw is better footballer than Ndidi. Mendy played 20 league games for Leicester and Shaw is comfortably better footballer.

Then you have Kante, if you are talking about pure footballer then arguably Shaw is better footballer (not saying Shaw is better than Kante as a midfielder btw),
I don't know much about Mendy and Ndidi, but I'd contest about Shaw is better footballer than Kante.

It's ridiculous that our forwards aren't firing enough. Easily could have surpassed Robertson numbers of last year
How? I mean what you're talking about? We don't create enough chances for our forwards in a regular basis at all. Not saying they could't do better but play as a forward at United is a such a tough task with no service.

They have missed plenty of easy chances, also they don't get enough chances as they don't gamble enough. Everything should be a perfect pass for them to create a chance.

Yesterday I think James played 2-3 good crosses but barely anyone made near post runs. Put someone like Haaland, the will gamble on these crosses and it will be a chance created out of nowhere.

Chance creation is not one way, you need your forwards to move all the time and gamble on crosses, keeper spilling, defender miscontrolling too.

So happy for him. No longer called fat boy or KFC eater anymore either.

His touch is amazing, his crosses are meaningful, great work down the left wing and our corner taker too. And enjoys a good dribble or too which advances us.

Bruno has the stats but Shaw has been our best player IMO in terms of performances

Ridiculously good player. He has a consistency in his first touch, weight of pass and ball carrying that means he wouldn't look out of place in any team in the world.

Shaw has been immense, and now he is using his physique to get past players. He is so strong and fast that he is a handful for most defenders. He probably has the best close control alongside Pogba in the team as well.

Individually, he may be better than Bruno during the course of the season. However, in terms of impact, Bruno is our most important and valuable player. Subsequently, I think Bruno is the player of the season. His stats, his work ethic, his passion, drive and leadership are just phenomenal to go alongside his creativity.

What a state this thread was in ten pages in. Quite the reversal.
I am one of those who has been really critical on Shaw for years.
He has finally stepped up into the frame everyone knew he could reach, he should be getting all the praise for finally getting there.
Shaw has been nothing short of fantastic of late and Maguire has benefitted from getting Shaw firing both defensively and attacking.
His turnaround is just remarkable from a uninterested, out of breath, lumber to the best LB in the land.
My hat goes off to him.

Little things like this make us a better team in possession.

I was screaming at James for playing such a hospital pass and putting us under pressure, then Shaw just casually spins out of it and away  such a classy player.

This is totally backwards. The lack of chances we're creating is down to our forwards, not the people supplying them. They don't move. They don't get in the box. They don't make runs off the ball. Since Cavani got injured our front line has basically fossilised. In Bruno and Shaw we have two of the best creative players in the league but you can't try and find a run that the striker isn't making. You can't make chances in the box for strikers who never get themselves into the box.

There are good reasons for the problem - there's been an injury crisis there, and they're all playing way too much football. Rashford is particularly exhausted and playing with at least one injury. And Cavani is the only one of them who is actually a natural #9 at this point. But still.

Just look through Class of 63’s posting history for a good giggle.

Yeah, just wondered why you were using it to describe Like Shaw, who isn't gifted or exceptionally talented. Beyond pace and bulk he is very limited with little to no game understanding.

He just gets better for each game. Think he was 19 when we signed him. He was brilliant then but reckon he's surpassed that early high level now. His improvement over recent 1-2 yr period has been insane!

I genuinely think he has the best first touch out of anyone in our squad. It's so good.

I'll remember this inconsequential passage of play for a very long time, just for the sheer casual brilliance of it. Even Neville had a fan boy moment in the commentary.
This is something Fred /McTominay lack IMO. He is so composed and press resistant out there, takes 2/3 West Ham players out with miminal fuss.

If we had a CM who can do what and plays a simple pass, we would keep the ball so much better.

He’s just so well rounded*, isn’t he? There’s no asset of his game that is truly lacking; possibly closing down crosses. Everything from back post defending, blocks inside the box, all the way to dribbling infield, first touch etc. Is just all there in his play at the moment.

* no fat jokes before anyone thinks of making any, should go without saying but I know what some are like.

For the most of this season I've toyed with the idea of Shaw as the captain.

I'm not sure how much influence he has over the rest but he's been hear as long as any one bar De Gea, is quite dependable, and is English as well which might make him less likely to leave for any other big club.

Also worth noting that he's been really good for quite a long time now. At least a season and a half. The sudden improvement in his dead balls and crosses has made people sit up and notice it a bit more this season, which is partly down to Cavani coming in and giving him an actual reason to deliver aerial balls. But the other ingredients were all already cooking when he retook his spot from Williams last season.

His finishing is crap, but that's literally all I can think of if you asked me what he was bad at. And, given that he's a fullback, it's as far from a concern as can be. Absurdly good this season.

It's not even crap, just reluctant. He can strike the ball really cleanly when he wants to. Never going to be curling 25-yarders into the postage stamp but he should be looking to score the sorts of goals McTominay does, clean flat strikes from lay-offs.

It goes without saying that I wouldn't want any of our players to get injured but somehow I really want it even more for Luke. He deserves to stay fit and healthy for hopefully the rest of his career. He is definitely POTY for us.

I dunno, it's like he gets a rush of blood and overexcited and his technique (which is usually excellent) just deserts him.

The fact it's about the only area of his game I can even think of a negative though was really just meant to just echo the point though. He's very, very good at everything else and long may it continue.

Been trying to recall such a massive turnaround of fortune for a United player in a single season, not just on this thread but in actual performance. Who was similar to Shaw in this regard?

He's the type of fullback that Pep Guardiola is searching for after spending billions on fullbacks. Great passers, close control and carrying ball further without issues, good defensively and found ability to crosses and can spam cutbacks.

It's been a spectacular turnaround for him. I was sick of him underperforming and the constant injuries, never saw this type of improvement coming.

Telles coming in lit a serious fire under him seemingly.

First to admit, during the Mourinho period, I thought he was done.

Delighted to be proved wrong, he's been immense.

Hopefully he can avoid injury, because right now he's the second pick on any teamsheet.

I've been saying for very long that he's one of our most important player in the squad because he allows Rashford and Pogba to play their best.

His only issue was needing a run of games to get back in playing condition and staying healthy.

So many idiots were slating him after the Spurs game and look at the turn around now
