He does play in easier cup games doesn't he?:-) looks composed and more commanding but mistakes like the one against AC, makes you think how often will he make them? It really is just a poor reflexive save a standard keeper should do. Perhaps a bit overmotivated our Deano. Wish him only well in the next games, He's got his run of games and he can't make any more mistakes while impress with some saves and cmposure.
He played the same 36 games against the non Manchester/Sheffield United teams in the Premier League last year and conceded the exact same number of goals as De Gea; 33

Personally I'd be putting him as our number one until season end

great response after the Milan mistake. He didn't look nervous and looked the same in terms of confidence. Throwing ddg back in will be a mistake but we know it will happen.

I don't want to pile onto ddg as he's given us a good number of years (a period of 4 out of 5 or something crazy like that player of the seasons)
However ddg is not coming out taking everything and the ball when that deflected cross comes into the box. (I'm trying to think when ddg last did that, if at all)

Our defence looks more comfortable with Henderson including lindelof

Think that is 10 clean sheets in 17 starts, or thereabouts. Deserves to keep his place at the very least
I have a feeling Dave will ask to go in the summer and will be granted this by the club. Having a newborn baby living in a different country completely changes your outlook in life. Dave strikes me as the type who will not want to be apart from his family.

He had nothing to do , define excellent please
He claimed or punched several crosses which was important.
Rather than that, the mere fact of a clean sheet was excellent per se given we have won

This is a very good point and very strong possibility that’s how it will pan out. He’s already living apart from his wife, no way will he want to live apart from his baby and miss the best years

I've given our CBs the highest ratings recently and I think Henderson is the culprit. I've seen enough to conclude that he's just as good as De Gea, although they have different strengths and weaknesses. Why not go with the younger goalie that can still improve? I'd be gutted if he left and we spend 50M on a new goalie 3 years from now.

It's so refreshing to see our goalkeeper come out, push our CBs away and collect, yet some won't praise him unless he puts himself in a position where he needs to make spectacular saves.

Hendo's long balls are piss poor, really needs to improve on that.

He only made a huge mistake in the ding minutes against Milan and made some mistakes in his first few games for us, it´s not that straightforward swap for DDG as it seems. I say let´s give him a chance,/extended run of games as this season is pretty much over anyway. Number of CS is just a statiscitcs which can be hugely out of context too btw

I feel he adds an assurance to the rest of the defence. We play with a higher line, therefore pressing more and playing higher up the pitch.

Yes, he may well be still finding his feet and he did make a mistake v’s AC Milan, but young GKs need a run of games. We still don’t really know how good he is, I hope he plays on Thursday.
Where was that high line after West Ham scored?

If he’s willing to give up being the highest paid player in the world, sure. Something tells me he won’t.

Bad goal to give away but he’s not all of a sudden a shit keeper. Dean has his strengths but De Gea is the better shot stopper. Dean is still the future but he's not ready to take over DDG spot. The way Ole has handled the GK spot has been spot on.
Except de gea has been making big mistakes for years now and rarely makes the worldie saves he used to make. I think we know by now De Gea isn't good enough anymore therefore its worth giving Henderson more time to see if he can be.

Even if he does make mistakes his communication and willingness to come of his line could really benefit the defence

Pretty much over? FA Cup, Europa League and top 4 aside!

Pretty much over, what? We've still got top 4 and 2 trophies to play for!

TOP 4 is never a trophy and we can experiment a bit with few points here and there so one goalkeeper to swap for another shouldnt mean a difference at this point. Henderson is pretty much a cup keeper anyway now.

With Pickford injured. This could be the chance for Henderson to stake a claim for England’s No 1.

three qualifiers coming up.

Im not sure he’s Southgate’s no 2 though, and Pope may well get the nod.

either way, it’s good for another keeper to get a little run and Pickford is dodgy.

Dodgy for Everton but has he ever let England down? Not a pointed question, I can't remember and am actually asking.

Pope is playing out of his skin right now. It's cruel but Henderson might well be third choice in Southgate's eyes. What an embarrassment of riches!

to be honest, when I put away my red tinted glasses, Henderson is clearly 3rd choice. I would put Pope ahead of him.

I think you are right, I don’t think Pickford has put a foot wrong for England.

Henderson is the best keeper for Utd right now. He's quick and probably the best choice right now. The concern is how much rest does he need to stay sharp and optimal for the team.

De gea needs to buck up and Romero needs to assert himself more if he wants to play again.

Not overly confident. Think he makes a big meal out of some routine saves and went with his legs there at the end instead of just scooping up the ball. But again, sample size is small.

I think we have become defensively strong over the last few games.

I wonder how much of that is down to Henderson.

The guy has the potential to be a far better all rounded Goalkeeper than De Gea. Maybe not as flashy, but he'll be a damn good GK.
