Did well to cut out a dangerous cross, key pass for Fernandes' off-target shot in the first half but too many poor moments.
Definitely his shakiest game for some time.

Terry- fecked a teammates missus, racist stuff
Gerrard- punched some dj in a club

You and me have different definitions of leadership off the pitch.
Keane tried to purposefully injure an opponent. Slagged off teammates, and got booted out of the club.

Cantona Kung fu kicked a fan. Giggs shagged his brother’ misses.

they all have issues and indiscretions. I fail to see your point.

He's so consistently good right now, like Denis Irwin with lowest level 7/10. His block later on was some excellent defending.

All those things can be considered worse issues than anything pogba has done. Different standards is my point.

im not going to sit here and argue.

look at Pogba’s form, fitness and attitude towards the club over the past 2 years. It would be an absolute joke for him to be captain. 45 mins doesn’t change that.

he’s a good player, and I’d love it if he found a level of consistency and his agent didn’t constantly unsettle the club. But only if that happened, could be even be considered.

you want a player who wants to leave the club to be captain. That’s beyond my comprehension.

He started off looking like his normal brilliant self, but dropped off quite a bit and had his worst game in some time. Still wasn't bad but hopefully it was a one-off.

What did he say?
I can’t remember his exact words but just that we were really rubbish in the first half. Just seems pretty honest and not like Maguire, who seems to say the same thing after every game.

there’s barely any point in interviewing players anymore. They are mostly vanilla, as they know I’d they say anything vaguely controversial either the authorities get involved, or there’s a backlash on social media.

@GifLord can we get a clip of that bit around 57mins where Shaw drops his shoulder and let's the ball run across him? In the Milan half near the left corner.

Shaw is dropping individual highlights with these skills each game now  It's mad.

Definitely. You saw what happened after Shaw got interviewed last time. Papers were talking about him being banned for saying something about the ref.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
why is it when we have a player playing well, the reaction of some fans it to want to install them as captain. Same thing with Bruno.

very strange.
Bruno is understandable as he is a leader. Shaw is a strange one though

Regarding the later discussion on Pogba, he is a dressing room leader but I agree he's probably not a captain on the field.

Not as flawless as in recent games, I thought, but his class just shines through.

Shaw: "Obviously, we're very happy we’re through. I’ll be honest, and the lads and staff would agree, we weren’t good at all especially first half we were awful."

Great to see some autocritic, shows he's improving in mentality.

There were attacking moments especially in the first half where some of his touches on the run were just ridiculous. There is one from a Maguire long ball I think and the way he takes it and gets it out in front of him is perfection. Needs to on occasion just try that low drive across the box to the far corner as last night it was ridiculous how many times he got himself in a good position and the forwards were legit just standing watching him.

There were some poor moments mixed in, like really unlike Shaw moments. One moment where he just takes the ball out of play and a few times where he just got done defensivley. Nothing terrible, just not as assured as he has been in recent weeks. Could be the extra physical demands he’s putting on himself to get forward taking its toll.

Lots of games coming up for him between us and England duty, hope that he only plays one of the games for England in the interest of him not picking up an injury. He's so vital to us and I really don't want to see a repeat of last season where our form falls apart because he's out.

My favourite player at the club. So much calmness and assurance.

He's absolutely ridiculous, not sure why people are saying his level dropped, he was still our best performer.

Most consistent player at what you would call a top level. Think he has overtaken Bruno as our best player since the turn of the year. Mind you Bruno looks knackered and in need of a break

Yeh agreed. I think id argue Bruno has had the better season just because carrying the entire creative and goal-scoring burden is a near-impossible job and he's been pretty remarkably consistent to this stage. However, Shaw has just gone about his business and seemingly got better game after game. He's now rolling players, pinging passes first time into the strikers, overlapping and just looks devastating doing it, its fantastic to see.

Bruno needs a break. There is zero rotation from Ole. Bruno and Rashford play all the time and look at Rashford now. People will say but who does Ole have to bring in, but that's the problem then. Poor summer transfer window last year.

You‘re surely not serious ? I wouldn’t put Robertson in the top ten left backs in the PL this season. Last season he was head and shoulders above the rest but he’s nowhere near Shaw this season, nowhere near.
Hahaha, nowhere near...
Luke Shaw 1 goal and 5 assists
Andy Robertson 1 goal and 5 assists

Liverpool have only conceded 4 more than United in the PL despite having their 3 first choice CBs injured for most of the season but yeah nowhere near.

So, who are your top ten LBs in the PL this season that don’t include Robertson?

Only player in the team who looks comfortable on the ball, collects it well and passes it well. It is a shame he is a left back because we are desperate for similar players in the middle of the pitch and in attack.

Really good to see a player turn things around after the diabolic period he had under Mr. Mourinho. Best left back in the league ( world?) right now.

How did he play for England ?
Good. Got a great assist for Kane for the first goal.

Played his usual tidy game for the rest of it, lots of nice passing and held/progressed the ball well. I think Southgate would have been happy.

It's great seeing him back in the England fold, I've always been a huge fan of Luke. He's been fantastic this season.

Ridiculous ball during our second goal, actually his development curve in the last two years has been ridiculous.

That was a beautiful ball for the second goal. That broke the game for us.

Great ball to Bruno for our second, but he really hates closing down his winger for crosses, doesn’t he?
He does and that’s a problem with Lindelof and AWB at the far post.
