He was relatively okay, I thought. Seems we more or less got what we paid for with this one. Lacks a bit of athleticism for the premier league but not ridiculously so and is mostly tidy and also defensively okay.

I don't think I've ever been amazed by his play but for a squad left back I have been okay with what he has brought. I do think we could have got somebody a lot younger and potentially a future threat to Shaw that would have offered similar really, maybe a bigger risk transfer would have paid off rather than the steady pair of hands Telles seems to be, but oh well.

We all love United
Nothing player. Even his crossing and set pieces which are supposedly his strengths have been crap and non existent here

Another shocking signing along with Van De Beek. Nice to see the new recruitment system that Woodward has been banging on about is starting to find such gems!

Like a supped up version of Alex Buttner.

Honestly if this is the lad that has made Luke Shaw keep on his toes he will be back off them next season as there is no danger he's losing his spot to Telles. Dreadful, average full back.

Defensively suspect.
Positionally, suspect at times.
In his debut appearance, he looked impressive going forward and putting in dangerous low crosses, but since then there hasn’t been a repeat of any of that, apart from the odd burst.
Oh! ....and cut off the silly top-knot. Not fashionable and it makes him look like a dick.

I agree. He was one of the better players. But where is this superior attacking LB that we thought we bought? Attacking wise for the level we thought he would be he is been poor. Defensively he has been ok.

Yep he was absolutely fine. A couple of good defensive moments tracking back and doing his job. A few decent set pieces finding Maguire.

He rocks the top knot like a boss.

Go look at 63% of the Leeds team if you want some top knots to criticise.

This.
Doesn't help that he gets to play once a month either.
Exactly. People like him and DVB are never going to be fully up to speed only playing once every month. We saw with Shaw himself you need a ruin of games to get match fit.

Worth the money to bring the best out of shaw. He clearly has great delivery but we haven’t seen a single assist yet (that I recall). I’ll get shot down for saying this but surely he could do a better job than Fred in cdm?

Telles crossing doesnt suit anyone except Cavani and even Cavani isnt a player that is the most clinical ever.

Our next striker will benefit from his crossing in my opinion.

He was "unlucky" with the performance from Matic and Fred. I guessing there were 5-6 occasions when he went forward in the right moment, but the passing from the midfield gott stuck and Leicester turned it around and he was left behind...
He is a good player, but shaw is just a lott better at the moment.

Tbf, our strikers (bar Cavani who's been unavailable 70% of the season) are extremely reluctant to get into the 6 yard box.
Add a striker like DCL and Telles will thrive.

Very harsh comments. I thought he played well. He's just unlucky he plays the same position as Shaw who has been outstanding this season.

If he was right footed, he'd play more often than Wan Bissaka and United would have a far more balanced attack.

Think he has a few. Caf says 3, in particular I remember his cross for Greenwood vs West Ham away.

But yeah he's been a decent signing. Decent enough cover for Shaw, but Shaw has taken his game up a few notches since he signed which makes it even more worth it, but also makes it look like a big gap between them whenever Shaw doesn't play (also because our midfield lacks so much ability that we need Shaws ball progression from the left to get through the lines).

This is the biggest issue in our team, no wonder we don’t create chances. Mctom fred and matic endure we don’t create anything.

Hes a solid backup for Shaw. It's what we wanted, it's what we paid for, its what we got.

I think some people with a hatred for Shaw thought he'd come in and brush him aside. They had unreasonable expectations and now feel let down.

Yeah has to be something like that. I think some fans who don’t really watch football outside of United get hyped with YouTube videos and people spinning tales of how good their new player is. At the end of the day he’s pushed shaw on to an even higher level, and manages to do decently enough to give him a rest when needed.

Thought he was a decent backup for Shaw but that was pure shit from him. Didn't get any help defensively from VdB mind who had no idea what to do out there

A mess of a cameo. You can see why our fullbacks are playing every match.

Telles' worst performance for United. Not sure why he was playing so narrowly at full back. Roma had the freedom of their right flank. Awful.

I like Alex. He has his value to the squad.

But, people were hoping he would replace Shaw...

Absolutely shocking performance. Involved in all three goals we conceded and they could have scored a few more from that side too.

He's really an awful player. I honestly don't know when everyone will just admit this and move on.

At LB he is not even an upgrade on Brandon.

I'd like to see him tried as a wingback, with Shaw or Lindelof at LCB.
