Still waiting for the Youthquake
2 years left on his contract. If he doesnt renew a lot of clubs will be interested.
Indeed a very well rounded midfielder and only 23 years old (will be 24 by the summer) but with almost 400 games already

I think if he goes into the last year of his contract then there will be a lot of clubs circling but if leicester get CL this year there must be a decent chance they can offer him better terms and he signs a renewal?

If he has a good Euros and has not signed a renewal then who knows perhaps there will be some sizable offers this summer?

I would buy this guy on Fifa every year for about 4 years before he joined Leicester. Was gutted he chose them over us. Very good player.

I dont think he chose them over us. We never made an effort to get him but acted like he will be desperate to join us and not look at his best interests.

It’s tough because of the 3 Partey was the only one I was actually annoyed we didn’t get.

And he’s the only one of the 3 who currently doesn’t look the part (it’s obviously far too early to properly judge him). Hindsight is a funny thing.

Fabinho would’ve been an absolute monster for us. He’d instantly be our best CM or our best CB. Or RB. Probably do a better job up top as well.
I was crying out for us to sign all 3, only because I’d watched a lot of them and knew how they would improve us. Other two I was desperate for were David Silva and David Villa when they were at Valencia. Also di Maria in benfica days. Our fan base is a very good judge of talent in my opinion.

Currently I’d love to see tchouameni and Kounde join - we won’t get either imo.

With tielemans he ran the show when we faced Anderlecht in the EL back in 2017, I was flabbergasted that we never made a move for him.

Just sign him as Pogba replacement. Worth every penny. 35m was a steal when he signed for Leicester. Was gutted we missed him. Just do it. Only 2 years left

Leicester are a good selling club, ndidi, tielemans, maybe fofana would all improve us but they’d rightly bend us over. We could use the recruitment teams at both Leicester and wolves, they identify the kind of talent that would improve us and for reasonable prices.

Was seen as a Pogba replacement two years ago. Let’s keep it that way. A more defensive minded player is required for now.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Another one who was available yet we weren’t interested in. Leicester signed for £20m. Along with Fabinho, Partey that’s 3 top class midfielders we missed out on who I’m sure would have joined us.

Fred.
Fabinho is the really annoying one for me. He's a Utd fan that made it quite obvious he wanted the move, but the club simply decided not to go for it.

He is perfect replacement for Pogba if he leaves. Not too similar in playing style but we dont have this type of player. Him and Kessie for Pogba and Matic would be briliant.

Still think we let Leicester have a free run at him so that they would agree to sell us Maguire.

If Hannibal Mejbri doesn't go on to be a better player than Tielemans, I'll be very dissapointed.

I dont know if we will see him having a proper crack at the first team.

We have too much average players competing for the midfield position and Ole will only play Hanniball if they they get injured.

Is he better than VDB?
That’s not much of a benchmark though.

He’s comfortably better than VDB. That said I was fully expecting to come here and see posters massively overrating him.

He’s good, not special, but good. Does the basics well and plays it forward nicely which is key for them.

He's still only 23 though. Still a lot of room to improve. And I do think he could already be a big asset for our team. He plays as a CDM most of the time and has 8 goals and 5 assists this season. Fred can only dream of those stats.

Yeah going forwards there is no comparison. Fred's defensive work is his one true positive, he compares well against almost any DM in that area, Tielemans is a much better passer no question.

I was fuming with his goal, that one-two he played around Matic was so simple. Matic there with the turning speed of cruise ship, painful to watch. Nice finish though once we let him stroll into our box.

Jose went for matic, much to the dismay of the majority of our fan base.

Won't be long before someone goes for him, I'd personally prefer Bellingham in a few years time (assuming he progresses as expected)

He’s on the up clearly. Someone big will come in for him. When’s his contract up I wonder

Remember when he was considered the next big thing in Anderlecht. Had a dip in Monaco, but seems to finally living up to his promise. Wouldn't look out of place in a title chasing team.

Capable of it but still inconsistent.

Don’t get any ideas of him being at Utd, he’d get shot down more often than not on here
If he still has his moments where can't make a simple pass or makes the most ridiculous tackle attempt than yeah United fans would crucify him. I have rarely seen a player able to do genuinely great things and 15 minutes later look like he is drunk, Pogba for France around 2015 is the other example.

The guy looked good at Anderlecht never mind Monaco.
Outstanding I thought. Two good feet, banged them from distance quite often from what I recall.

Very disappointing at Monaco but probably the wrong move at the time.

First half I genuinely thought he was heading for a red! He was that rattled but credit to Brendan, must have had a few words to calm him down

Yep and he was captain too, he was only at Monaco for a season from what I can remember that’s why I wouldn’t bother taking his time there into account.
