Looks good, plays football looking at open players. Has decent pace, I don't think he is much slower than James. If he keeps playing well and improves, Barcelona might want to buy him cheap since they are broke. Hope he get a run till end of the season, have a great pre-season so Ole decides to keep him around.
Hes probably quicker with the ball at his feet. James has speed for days in a sprint race but he slows down a lot when controlling the ball. Pellistri seem to be able to keep his pace decent and keep the ball tight to his feet.

I can see this guy being the surprise success story amidst the hype surrounding the Armadillo.

He looks faster than he did for the U23. Maybe he has gotten stronger and quicker during the season or the space to run into is more against the likes of Atletico.

His change of speed to beat his man is reminiscent of a certain someone. Might sound probably a little overboard but he's the closest thing I've seen to Messi in terms of dribbling as a young player.

He can go either way, David Silva or just another Bojan.

Personally he's the one I'm looking forward the most amongst our young guns and that includes Greenwood.

What I like from those highlights is his urgency to get going with the ball as soon as he receives it or wins it.

Impressive.
Interesting. He looks very press resistant and is clearly good at manipulating the ball in tight areas. Very tidy.

Classic young kick and run performance. Still has a long way to go with decision making based on that video
Ermmm I can only assume you didn't watch that video as it was the total opposite to kick and run. Bizarre comment.

Looks to be doing well on loan. Loan him to Dortmund next year as part of Sancho deal. They have a habit of improving young players

I've noticed this as well -- admittedly, only from YouTube videos -- from the boy. He looks like the kind of footballer we could use out wide. Fingers crossed he's physically strong enough to compete for a place in the first team next season.

Now the loan make sense.

He is a South American, first time going out from his home country, probably needs time to learn english. At the same time he needs first team games and sending him on loan to Championship will be disastrous.
I think he is the reason why we should not retain Lingard and look to sell him next season.

He'll be playing for us soon, no doubt.

More of a Giggsy with his running with the ball and changing direction with pace.

Endorsed by Suarez. "A pleasure @FacundoPellistri, keep up like this crack, and good things will come." (Rough Translation)

It's wild how badly Uruguay have needed a winger the last 10 years. 9s, CMs and CBs and even a fullback or two at times, but yeah a winger more consistent than a Cristian Rodriguez would help. Maybe Darwin and Maxi Gomez and the potentially dominant Torreira/Bentancur/Valverde trio will have a wide player who can help connect attacks for once.

I don’t really want to say this but his style reminds me a bit of Messi.

The one clip of him on the left he looked very dangerous. He’s not better on the left is he:wenger:.

Maybe his running style and low point of gravity, but yeah the close ball control, shooting and decisionmaking is nowhere near him. In short Id understand why you hesitate to throw Messi in that sentence

He looks to have settled in now. His first couple of appearances, he seemed nervous and tentative, playing safer passes and less willing to take on his man.

What a difference a few games makes. He looked supremely confident against AMadrid. Says a lot about his mentality and attitude. Hope he finishes the season strong, come back to United for pre-season where we then assess him again if he should go back out on loan or stay and rotate with Amad.

Fingers crossed this kid makes it

Promising performance against a side like Athletico Madrid. Dan James wouldn't pull that off, would gain good confidence from this loan
Did you see the performance by James against City when at his previous club, watch the highlights and enlighten yourself :houllier:

He'd need a proper no.9 to aim for, someone who makes runs and isn't static on the edge of the box. The few times this season Dan James has got to the byline and fired one across goal there's been nobody in the box. Our strikers, or lack thereof are nothing of the quality you'd expect from a no.9. (Cavani an exception when he's played).

Agreed, it’s a glaring hole in our attack.

Wasn't messi doing similar stuff at 16 years old haha. We could only wish he becomes half the player. See the reason for comparison though

Is he learning English? there have been a lot of South American players whom have played for years in England and cannot speak it.

Would be interesting if Ole kept him in the first team next season. We haven't had two young promising wingers in our team since we had a young lee sharpe and ryan giggs. Its far too early in Pellestri and Diallo careers, but if they can hit the heights of a Ribery or Robben in their prime then the pair will have been great buys. The potential of youth hey?

If they can reach those heights we are talking world class so that would be great business by all at the club.

Im always in favor of having a few players of the same nationality for squad harmony, any potential uruguayan signings? Valverde or Gimenez?
