Something I've realised 7 seasons in... Jerry's the weakest part of the show and not actually funny. He's like the sun though. Everybody else orbits around him and it works perfectly.

I feel like he's one of us and is just enjoying watching everyone else from within the show.

It needs a script or something that converts Ole to Jerry, like the caf has with feck.
Ooh that would be good. Klopp can be Newman, too.

He’s a terrible actor and spends half of his scenes laughing at the jokes... but the show wouldn’t work without him.

I guess that's kinda the purpose. Given he's more or less playing himself and getting the humour from around him. Larry kinda flipped the switch on it with Curb....

I love Seinfeld - it's my favourite ever sitcom.

Most shows start great, and then go downhill (such as Frasier, my second favourite show). However Seinfeld is the opposite. Its first couple of series are pretty weak in comparison, and the characters - certainly George and Kramer - aren't as fully formed and as brilliantly OTT as they become.

But during series 3 something really clicks and series 4-8 are brilliant. The last series, after Larry David left, shows signs that it was going a bit too OTT and I think Jerry probably made the right decision to end it there in terms of its legacy (although I'm sure we also missed out on some more classic George and Kramer moments which is a shame).

I generally rewatch it from series 3 onwards, and there's so many classic episodes / scenes that I absolutely love.

My most favorite comedy show ever. Have re-watched it multiple times and yet it continues to make me laugh.
So so many iconic scenes and episodes. The support cast is also super strong specially senior Costanza.

The Contest episode where they compete to see who can not masturbate for the longest is genius and kind of amazing it was allowed to be aired when it was made.

Are you still the master of your domain?

Jason Alexander was only given that whole speech just before they shot the scene so he had no chance to rehearse and shot it on the first take. Classic scene.

Always love a good Seinfeld thread bump

Yeah, a great scene.

I'm finding myself increasingly watching more of the older shows - when dialogue on most shows wasn't so preachy and the humour and casting was based on it just being an incredibly funny show.

So I've been re-watching a lot of my favourite UK sitcoms from the 70's and 80's, and my favourite US sitcoms from the 90's - Seinfeld and Frasier especially. I absolutely love both, especially early to mid Frasier, and mid to late Seinfeld.

George and Kramer are such great comedy characters. :D

Shouldn’t be too long before it hits Netflix in 4K now.

This is as good a time as any to get it off my chest. I don't much care for Seinfeld.
