I'm going to a real Imax for this one. They just started opening up movie theaters in my neighborhood.
I really wish I could have watched this in iMax especially for the last 30-45 minutes. Would have been badass.

Yeah, King of the Monsters is the poorest of the films so far.
Ah I liked king of the monsters. Nice to see a few Kaijus. King Ghidera was great. For me Godzilla 2014 was the poorest with very little action!

Honestly don't know if I enjoyed that or not, it kinda ended abruptly.

Said the same thing as others regarding the batman v superman similarities.

That was fecking amazeballs. I watched it with my five year old daughter. We were both on the same mental level watching this. And both as happy as can be. This is a proper popcorn movie. The fights are awesome. Effects are amazing. It’s exactly as dumb as it should be, and consequently amazing. 11/10.

Watched with my Godzilla obsessed 3 year old. I’ve been bigging this up all month and it didn’t disappoint. He wants to watch again today. We’ve watched the other Godzilla’s 10 times each. I’m glad there’s a new one to rinse now haha.

Its what we wanted right? I mean the human stuff is meh, but we dont care about much making sense, we want two titans beating the shit out of each other and it looking great as it happens.

Haha! That’s great! She brought out her Godzilla toy, as she’s definitely team Godzilla! These are some of the best things to bond over as Dad’s, because we secretly love it too..... When we had our daughter I knew right away I would get her into things that I liked, so it wasn’t a chore to bond over cultural passions. I didn’t want to watch Frozen or my little pony 30 times.

It’s been shockingly successful. She’s massively into Marvel, and so I’ve been “forced” to watch the entire MCU 3-4 times. Her favourite character is Thor, much to the chagrin of her mother - and do we’ve watched Ragnarok about 15 times. As movies your kid wants to watch on repeat go, this is as good as it gets. We even dressed up as Thor and Valkyrie for Halloween.

Her other favourites are Godzilla, so this was great, Star Wars, and Transformers. She watched the whole Mandalorian series with me. As 5 year old girls go, she’s pretty fecking cool!

Oh and of course, she’s a massive Manchester United fan. Which has not been easy to do, because (a) I live in Chicago now, and all the sports around her are American, and (b) my brother is a sneaky, dirty bastard Liverpool fan, and he secretly tried to get her into Liverpool.

For years she couldn’t even say Manchester United. She used to cheer us on calling us “Runcher Uniteds”. Now she very confidently corrects everyone by calling us “Manched Uniteds”. It’s too cute, so I never correct her. Anyway, the key thing is that watching Marvel and Utd games has become legitimate bonding time. As was screaming at the TV together, staying up late to watch Godzilla and Kong throw down! This is the secret to keeping your sanity during parenting.

Share the photos of you dressed up as Valkyrie please! Because I know your daughter was Thor!

On serious note - sounds awesome bonding like that man. Great.

On topic: good movie, thoroughly enjoyed it. Found myself forwarding a bit of the human stuff (mostly the kids stuff) because I just wanted monster screen time!

I can't remember why I joined this war.
Again this movie could have been decent if they had just concentrated on more monster fights. The story and characters just can't carry a film for more than 5 minutes and that's about the screen time that should have been given to them.

Watched it yesterday and really enjoyed it. The visuals were a treat. Storyline wasn't amazing but it definitely kept me engaged. Entertaining movie that can be viewed by any movie lover.

Haha my kid chants ‘Mynited, Mynited’ when wearing his united shirt. Doesn’t realise it’s United rather than Yournited haha.

Excited for him to get into marvel. A lot of movies to get through!

Good fun, was pretty much what I expected. Could’ve cut some of the human stuff that did not really add much (mostly MBB & the other 2 characters’ scenes) & had more monster fights, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

I really worry about people's intelligence that watch this garbage. Between this and fast and furious films plus all the Superhero crap I'm beginning to think we should just stop making films until some sort of sanity prevails again

Agree, could have cut out some of the needless crappy character scenes and just fully focused on King Kong & Godzilla beating the hell out of each other. That’s the sole purpose of why we were looking forwarding to watching this film.

I think 2 hours of Godzilla vs Kong would have been great. But you kinda need to give it reason / purpose and thats where the human elements come in. I mean we did get three badass fights which were lengthy (whilst mostly following Kong around).

humans were just there to spell out the motivations of the titans

How are people watching this? Cinema's have been shut for a while in the UK.

Agreed. Otherwise they may as well have just written Round 1/ Round 2/ Round 3 with no cut scenes.

Stream online or rent the movie on Prime or ITunes

EDIT: I rented the 4K UHD one for £15 on Prime.

Was a good flick. The figt scenes were excellent! I was relieved to see Godzilla beat the ever loving shit out of Kong a couple of times.

Watched this last night and enjoyed it!

Went into it expecting nothing but was surprised, for a popcorn flick it’s decent. Shoutout to the effects team as well this movie looks incredible.
