I'm not too sure what you mean when you refer to saying Ed's office is in London?

I think most of our budget will be spent on an attacking player.
I was saying if Haaland entourage is in london, so is woodwards office. They could arrange a visit to discuss with woodward and judge if we were in for him seriously. I dont think we will have anything to do with haaland because we will lose Pogba on a free next summer as he wont sign a new deal and we arent negotiating with riola for a extension for pogba.

Hard for riola to advice haaland to go to utd when one of his other clients is trying to get out. One of creative players as well. Its a non starter for me personally.

He is performing like Martial right now. Alot of games in a row without a goal.

Dortmund now in a lot of trouble in regard to qualifying for the CL. 7 points behind with 7 to play and a harder run in. Going to be tough for them.

how many?

Is he actually playing well, or gone off the boil?

[VG] Haaland has gone four games without a goal for the first time in his career.

Two of these were with a very below-par Norwegian team.

It's funny the way people are creaming themselves over Haaland now and the Sancho thread is not even bumped.

Or, Ole knows Håland snr & Håland junior, and they know what we have to offer. As Ole has said plenty of times, he speaks to Erling.

Too early for him to come to the Prem yet his entourage won’t risk any chance of him failing. It’s Juventus or PSG next up where he can bang in 40 goals a season and raise his profile even higher.

60m move to Juve next summer with a 150m release clause? suits everybody that.

He'll most likely score goals wherever he goes, but the question is will he always unequivocally improve the team?

Stay away. Great player, however, his agent will move him on after 3 years. We need to stop doing business with Riola, so let's start this summer.

Riola is only interested in Riola and how much he can screw out of clubs. He is doing the rounds of Madrid, Barca as a ploy to try and panic clubs into buying Haaland. I thought players with more than a year of their contract left were not allowed to be hawked around the World to other clubs. I’m still convinced Haaland will end up at City despite Guardiola saying they have no money to spend. A ‘Sponsor’ will show up with the readies. We should look at a CB and right winger to feed Greenwood before spending on the Norwegian.

Ole has nothing to do with it. Hes the manager. All the stuff with agents is handled by judge and woodward.

Active negotiations yes, but persuading the player to believe in the project of the club is very much down to the manager.

I doubt they are actually negotiating on this PR-tour. They are just meeting with clubs to inform them of what level they are looking for in regards to financial package, assurances from the club in regards to ambition/play-time etc., the interest of the player to move this year (probably depending on how Dortmund's season ends) or next year or potentially staying even another year if Rose makes Dortmund challenge for titles (since this potentially also informs of the players interest to stay at the next club for a while or keep moving around) and then whatever other info might be interesting like what jersey number(s) Haaland wants or whatnot. Probably also informing of the price Dortmund has set for him this summer and all the details surrounding his buyout clause if they don't already know.

Actual negotiation for terms cannot happen before Dortmund allows it, usually after the club has a bid accepted, but with a buyout clause in a year this is just a formality (and I'm even theorizing the clause might activate early this summer if they fail to qualify for CL).

The clubs may inform of their interest to bid for the player and give a general sales pitch of what makes their club/project great.

Ole can easily get most of this info conveyed directly between himself and Haaland senior on a call. When actual negotiation starts later it will go to Raiola and Judge (with probably Murtough, Fletcher and Haaland senior sitting in at the meeting).

If someone wants him this summer, it will be 150 mill + 50 mill for Raiola plus very high salary, right? If that’s the case, is it realistic he’ll leave Dortmund this coming window?

At the same time, it’s a huge failure career wise to miss next year’s CL.

Dortmund will sell for 100m, especially if they miss champions league.

Haaland is similar to Lukaku. He has better movement than Lukaku but in build up play he’s similar.
I would be surprised if City signed him.

As much I would like to think otherwise this year has shown Greenwood is not a goal scoring striker, played in the middle he barely enters the opposition box. Love him to death but no amount of maturing is going to improve that basic instinct to get in the box and score goals as the main striker.

I think having a close relationship with the player would override that though.
Ole has stated on many an occasion that he has a great relationship with Pogba but that has never stopped Pizza boy spruiking his garbage whenever he gets the opportunity.

And Ole has never bitten back. Maybe its because he is close to Pogba and knows the truth?

Raiola did say in his last interview with The Athletic, that Ole appreciates Pogba.

Before we get Håland for the price that has been quoted for this, we should go and get Sancho and Rice/Ndidi.

This will set us up so much better for the arrival of Håland. We need Håland to want to come to us and look forward to linking up with our team and be the final piece of the puzzle. If he were to arrive now, too much of the onus to lead us to glory would be put on him.

Literally scored 2 in his previous game for Dortmund. He only didn't score for Norway before the Frankfurt game
I want Haaland here just like the next guy.

However, my expectations of him are a little lower because I do think his overall game is a bit missing.

We need to have an increase in first team quality to get the best out of a striker like Haaland- a striker that may not have the ability to get the best out of anyone else.

This isnt the Haaland that Ole tried to buy before Dortmund for under 40mil - he is the Haaland that is leaving Dortmund for 150 mil. Haaland wont be happy rotating like he may have been if he accepted coming here the first time - he will want to start every game and we need to get the best out of him.

If he doesn't score as this regular machine then he becomes a bit of a player that occupies the defence rather than someone like Harry Kane that can start playing through balls.

It's just me keeping an eye on how often he may have these quiet games where he hasnt put the ball in the back of net - some will say that the Norway team cant get the best out of him; but this is a question we might have when our only creators tend to be Bruno, Shaw and if being nice then maybe Paul Pogba. Haaland isnt even one of the best headerers of the ball to get the best out of Shaw's crosses all the time.

I think if Haaland plays in a competitive league his numbers will decrease as a result of his lackluster play in the build up. He needs to influence the team more in this regard. That's why for me Kane is the best striker overall in football. Clinical but is very useful as a center forward.

Since these arguments seem to go round in circles, I have two hypotheticals... (for the record I want Haaland here, desperately) just to change the conversation a bit.

1. Would having Haaland and Pogba both at untied actually limit the amount of #%*% Riaola would speak about Utd, my rationale being you can’t exactly slag off the club one of your players are at, for the benefit of the the other?

2. if we’d signed Haaland for the deal Dortmund had; would fans rather keep him for next year (given our circumstances) and risk loosing him for $65, or sell him this year for say $130m?

We should forget about him. Touring around Europe to find new club in the middle of the season. Then again I'm not surprised because Raiola is his agent. How disrespectful to Dortmund. No wonder we refused to accept this deal in the summer.

Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappé are better than Haaland and never do anything to disrespect their club to such extend.

Only Barca will cave in at that, after borrowing another 500m from a Catalan bank.

Dont see Perez paying up in this environment at your club.

This is what I'd expect from Raiola. Adding to that 120-150m asking price from Dortmund, that would be over 200m investment, for a player who doesn't seem wishing to stay at a club for very long.

Question being, is it too much, especially in COVID market, for a very young player who will guarantee you 40 goals a season, but with rather limited footballing.

It's about time agent fees shall be regulated. 40 mil for commission? Also, asking for 30 mil net salary. Raiola and Haaland's father are match made in heaven.

Not even Jorge Mendes can close this kind of deal.

Hope Pogba's father is not reading this!

Raiola and Håland camp only ask because they expect to get it.

If no clubs agree to this, then their demands would soon come down.

Ps, I full expect these figures to have been inflated.
