the problem is after 5 years, and a player who is now 28 we are talking about POTENTIAL.

There’s not a single person who doubts his talent, but he doesn’t give us enough, often enough.

I’d love him to stay and be a great player for us, but at some point, you have to say it just hasn’t worked, and is not going to work.

we would likely be having these same discussions about Pogba and POTENTIAL in 2 years time.
Im not talking about potential with Pogba. I was talking about outside of Pogba, Rashford, Bruno and an on form Martial we have then only potential like Greenwood, Amad. Then a bunch of average Joe’s.

Pogba’s a top player who plays well, with less stats, as much as Bruno does for us. In fact performance wise during games I’d say he’s more consistent and has adapted his game for Bruno, which shows maturity. He’s just carried the can for the entire clubs mess since his return which has been incredibly unfair.

Again, no one is doubting his talent. But after 5 years, we still don’t know where he plays best. Where the blame lies, is irrelevant, it’s that he’s now 28 and we don’t get the best out of him, whether that’s his fault if the club - apportioning blame is a side show.

we would miss him, but more for the “what if” with him. In 5 years he hasn’t shown enough to be lauded. Obviously we need creativity, but he can’t be relied upon to deliver it.

Juve took a step back to take couple of steps forward. They have rejuvenated the squad with quality young players although still need to keep adding more quality. I think they are the natural destination for Pogba. He will add some penetration from MF which they seem to lack and have quick forwards who will benefit from his vision.
They might not even make top four in Serie A. I'd seriously question Pogba's ambition if that was his preferred destination, especially when leaving a club in, what I believe, is in a much better position.

Them taking a step back is the reason they will go for Pogba, they didnt need him before, they might feel otherwise now. In addition, the idea of a cash plus swap deal is still feasible.
Forget what they need! Will Pogba want to go to a club hanging on to top four in Serie A?

Yes he would. The style of the league fits him more, he likes the culture and knows they still have the best team there. As for Real, like Utd, they are Real. We want rid of Mino, so wouldn't be too keen on begging him to stay.

Given the situation, I personally think we should be.

The last thing we want to be doing is looking for a Pogba replacement, especially when we have at least another 3 or 4 positions we need to address.

Do you really want Fred & McTominay as undisputed choice next season? Because if Pogba leaves we won’t replace him & Ole won’t play Bruno & Donny together, so it will be another year of that god awful McFred pivot.

Noone wants that, but we would use that money on a midfielder. If we got Camavinga or a Kessier that would be great.

Thinking back in time, Imagine if we got Fabinho like we all expected, he and Pogba would have been absolutely bossing midfields all over Europe. What a shame.

This is going the be the biggest indicator of our future progress for me. Sign him to a new deal or sell him for a good price abroad. Anything else and we are fecked.

Any proper dm next to him and we would have seen a lot more. He has had Matic, Felliani, Herrera, Fred and Mctom as his midfield partners. Imagine a Ndidi or Fabinho

Hasn't France applied two midfielders with him to get the best out of him?
Kante, Rabiot or Rabiot and Sissoko to complement Pogba in the team? Sadly I don't see Pogba functioning with one player covering behind him.

Other than Bruno he's our only creative midfielder. If we sell him, we must replace him.

I do agree his discipline in the two hasn't been the best and is probably the weakest part of his game but i do think this year in particular( after the horrific start) he's improved in that regard. He's probably better in a 3 like you say.

Imagine adding those players to the list of players he can't play in a two with.

We sign Pogba to a big new shirt off our backs contract and we sign Rice or Ndidi for 80 million. Then we finally come to the conclusion that Pogba can't play in a two and we are still better with Bruno in the team than Pogba in Bruno's place.

Another season goes buy and the unhappy Pogba's agent is making trouble so he can get his client away.

Groundhog year.

I agree with the notion we should sell Pogba for a decent amount and get in a functional duo instead.

At this point we'll probably never know if it could work. Point is we haven't exactly surrounded him with quality.

Same. Plus at the time Fred and Matic were considered good players who would finally get the best out of Pogba. Ander was already here and they didn’t really click either. It seems like he’s an attacking midfielder or nothing for us.

Agree and we have Bruno for that.
