Potter's a good manager. I think if we swapped managers we'd be killing Brighton right now because he's shown he can get a team playing modern, progressive football with the bare minimum, so having a talented squad on top of his ability would just be the icing on the cake.

Also, we'd win because Ole would relegate this team of Brighton players.

I reckon every manager in the league has a system whether good or bad. What on earth is Oles? Are we trying to counter attack at home to Brighton?

Once the Glazers have gone and sold up, I’ll be able to watch this team legitimately. At the moment, this is not my club

It's hard to believe that this is one of the richest clubs in the world and yet the football is what you would get from a schoolboys team . Just whoever gets the ball should try to do something with it and kick it forward . No cohesion, tactics and plans. Just vibes

It’s all well and good moaning and talking about being “awfully coached” but does anybody have a viable suggestion for what we could do differently?

Personally, I think we need a player like DCL. Wouldn’t be everybody’s favourite but I think a big physical presence like that would give us another dimension and force teams to think a bit differently.
Have a look at the thread title perhaps? ^^
I like the idea of a physical presence up front (not necessarily the striker, could also be somewhere else). The way we play now (even if it isn't very pleasing on the eye or successful (bigger picture) ) would certainly benefit from it.

another sh*t show. I am sick and tired of the crappy football I am watching for months now. If Ole signs his new contract I will be off for a while after 25 years as a fan. This borefest is so annoying as are his interviews. How we are 2nd is beyond me.

Always have the feeling the squad have no fear factor with OGS. Ole “Do this” Player “Yes boss”. Then goes off and does what he wants Maybe wrong but that’s what it seems like.

We stop and play because we are not coached in movement off the ball. As I keep saying when we don't have the ball we are ok. It's when we have the ball we don't know what to do.
I don't know if it's Ole or his coaches. But ultimately he is responsible for his coaching staff.

There's something I don't want to say but feel like I have to. I really, really don't find any joy in watching us anymore. The last 2 weeks were the most fun I had the entire season just because of lack of football. Watching us play this awful football isn't fun anymore, especially when you're not even challenging for anything big to warrant such awful football.

I'm at the point that I feel watching United matches is a job I have to do rather than 2 hours of mindless fun I look forward to 2 days a week. I almost feel angry when we don't win nowadays more due to me wasting 2 hours watching shit football without a payoff rather than being annoyed at the bad result itself, because there's even nothing big we're fighting for to even worry about, I would at least liked to enjoy some football but even this I can't get.

It's really a terrible feeling.
You're definately not the only one. I find it much more fun when Utd aren't on too, past 2 weeks were great. If I could see a proactive style in place, but just falling short, (Liverpool pre Alisson/VVD, losing high scoring games due to awful defenders), I would snap take that over this now, as you could tell they were on the cusp of something special. But with us, I feel there's nothing there, no foundations of success being built at all, just a lifeless negative cesspit of a team. Just like Mourinho's 2nd place, there's nothing of substance behind this 2nd place.

We play conservatively vs. anyone near our level regardless of our prior form. To see a young talented team with that mentality just kills me. Off the ball movement is minimal, the amount of times x player gets the ball, and everyone is just standing still, is absurd. The thing is, that 1st half performance is the majority. How many matches do we begin flat, then sleepwalk through entire halfs, whilst the staff looks upon glassy-eyed? You tell yourself it's got to change next time, but we 9/10 do it again. It's infuriating.

I've come to accept it, as long as he's here, nothing's going to change, so what's the point getting annoyed you know? He'll be gone eventually, so just got to wait it out.

Another game of awful football and another reminder than Brighton have a much better manager and coaching team than we do.
Oh let’s just forget the fact we were dominating (& very well I might add) before the goal & take a minute to all b*tch and moan and claim that Potter the world class manager that he is, would even get a chance at Managing United, because we’re losing (or rather were losing) to Brighton.

(Brighton who have got results away from home against the big 6. But let’s forget about that because we’re Man Utd goddamnit and we should be beating everyone! Back in my day we were the BEST team in England! Oh the good old days *day dreams to the days if the class of 92 dominating the league & having realistically 4 teams to contend with and not 6-10 hugely financed teams, let’s refuse to admit that we’re not good anymore, because we want the good old days back! Why?

Because we’re Man Utd goddamnit! Let’s all hold on to that lads! Let’s remember our heritage, our traditions! Because that means more than winning games! Let’s just attack attack attack! Doing well for Leeds! We should be doing more just because we’re called Man Utd!

Let’s just hold on to that fact, our very names should insight fear into our opponents! Just look at our history! Our history lads! Let’s hold on to that fact and not wake up and see what’s happening right now! Let’s refuse to believe it!)

In fairness I think our performance since the equalizer was very good. Shame we don't play a game with full urgency like this. We decided to turn on after 1-1.

Our intensity in the second half has been good . Again no idea why we don't play like this in the first half

Yeah it really has been, I'm not sure why it seems like this team needs something to bring them to life (either an opposition goal or for one of our individuals to do something) rather than knowing to do that from the start and whether that suggests it's sort of them just all on them but the difference between the first hour and the last 20 minutes or so has been significant.

Nice rant. Talk about missing the point completely. I don't think anyone would complain if this was an exception, but this is actually the norm here. Whether it's Brighton, or West Ham, West Brom or Crystal Palace, we're routinely putting in these lifeless performances, where we look absolutely clueless. Our team is full of talented players, who're capable of much more than we actually see. We struggle to string 5 yard passes together sometimes, let alone pass and move, it's absurd. Is it too much to see us do the basics really?

Last two years.

Before game: We are awful and every manager is better then ours.

During game: Sack him. Sack manager. Buy Neymar or Kardashians. Or Tony Pulis.

After game: Ok, We won. It is because of individual performance.

People need to relax and give or manager and staff some credit.

We are a weird side. When we score whether to equalise or take the lead we always play well when our tails are up, yet for periods of games we look like 11 players that never played together

Well said. If anyone thinks the management/coaching staff are getting anything close to the maximum out of these players they are deluded.

We have a good squad which needs a few more to really challenge - a better coaching team would be the biggest difference maker though you only have to watch all the games this season sometimes they don't know what to do out there.

Shove that up your miserable arses. Another game, another win, another scramble to find an obscure reason why Ole and his team, the team you predicted wouldn't make top 4, is comfortably in second.

I used to subscribe to this shite but the reality is that our players aren’t that good. Good enough to be roughly where they are but that’s about it.

Too many Lindelof’s, Fred’s and a lack of reliable goalscorers.

Credit for what, exactly? LvG and Mourinho between them won three trophies, achieved three seasons in the Champions league and both were deemed failures, never got much credit and were sacked. Oles football is just as shit with nothing to show for and you're asking for credit. The man gets paid a champions salary. He'll get credit when its actually deserved.

Another year of absolutely boring football, no challenge mounted in anything but maybe the shitty EL. Well done, Ole. Thanks for blessing us with your sleep inducing football.
