Bizarre performance. I assume he wasn't really fit enough to play.

Solskjaer needs to learn to rest players from time to time.

Looked injured from the get go. Wasn't making sprints and obviously needed to come off. Shouldn't have started and should sit out the international break.

He needs to sit down. He will lose his pace playing like this. Once that goes not much left for him. Hope he learns and stops overdoing it.

He needs to rest. He probably needs to have his shoulder op too, because he’s clearly not been right for quite a while now. There is no point in pushing him through because he’s not having the impact anyway.
Sit it out, Marcus. Even if that means missing the euros.

No way he will sit it out and miss the Euros.
But he needs too withdrawn from the upcoming england duty i agree with this.

He should withdraw from the England squad if he’s as injured as it seems.

Assuming he isn’t injured he’ll be in the squad for the euros anyway. Him, Kane, Sterling and Sancho are all shoe ins providing fitness.

Good. It didn't sound like a bad injury...

"I don’t know [any timeframe for a return]. The doctor will speak to the English [FA] but I think he’ll travel and report for them. Maybe he’ll be fit for them."

But now he's not fit for the England matches, he can put his feet up... carefully!

If you're not fit for your club's most recent game, you probably shouldn't go on international duty anyway. It's clear to anyone who has watched him that he's not been 100% fit for a while.

Hopefully Martial doesn't feature and the front three will all get good rest finally.

AWB will get some rest too.

We might be quite fit and ready to go after these internationals.

Didn't he get this injury against West Ham?

A game where the manager made 0 subs.

This is good news that he's sitting these out. I'm really hoping he hasn't aggravated anything but I think it's telling that the club's medical staff thought it okay for him to go in the first place and the England medical staff finally didn't think he should be there.

I'm not sure he does himself any favours by insisting on getting on the field regardless of what his body is telling him, but surely this is a call our medical staff could have made themselves? He's experienced in terms of number of games, however he's still very young and will need to be told when it's in his best interest to recover.

I might be wrong but I'm not entirely convinced that Rashford would have sat out games over these 2 weeks if United was playing

Our best player today imo.
Was he injured again befor the sub? I saw him sprinting down the left flank and then the next second he hobbled off....

Feels like we are carrying him at the moment. Scored but seems to lack intensity in his play and isn't linking up well.

Typical recent performance, a goal papers over a shit performance. 4 or 5 / 10.

That’s how he should be playing for the remainder of the season, get the ball out of his feet & put him in positions where a one touch shot is on.

I think he's a sensational player tbh. He's in 30 combined goals and assists this season and hasn't been fit in about 18 months.

Scored with a nice finish. Ran straight towards Brighton defenders several times, losing possession. Didn't seem fit.

One shot from long distance that was saved and one key pass.

He looks like he's carrying an injury since December imo. Doesn't run, can't beat his man, doesn't press when players around him want to press the defenders.

His finish was excellent but I don't know what to think about Marcus. He often slows down our play but his stats are very good.

Needs a summer off, which he won’t get sadly.

I’ve grown sick and tired of all the abuse he takes from our fan base. Sometimes we have the worst fecking fans in the world. The Match day thread is just Rashford abuse every fecking time.

He’s our most productive player from open play and has been for what? 3 seasons? At 23. Kid bleeds United. Takes a lot of risks, tries the impossible sometimes, and shock horror it doesn’t come off, a lot. That’s the way it works when you try high risk, high reward manoeuvres.

Been playing through injury for about a year, to help the team. Never complains. Scores crucial goals even when he’s struggling. Has the weight of most of the attack on his shoulders. Gets doubled up on every game.

Would love to see some Rashford support in here. Some fecking appreciation for a brilliant talent from our own academy. Rather than the constant “overrated”, “will never be world class”, “average” nonsense that gets posted every 5 minutes.

Put this kid in an attack that has other real threats in it and so affords him a little more space, and you’ll see him get better still.
