This is why Kane will never be a legend. He will stagnate at Spurs whilst other top strikers go to Real, City and the like and win trophies.
Its a shame to see such a player wasted tbh.
Which top strikers?

Ask Morata, Mariano and Jovic how a move to Real worked for them. Even Michael Owen, if you wanted to go back far enough.

Bale will be on hand to maybe nod to how you can win a few pots, but you're tossed like litter as soon as you struggle and the fans won't do you any favours.

Kane's biggest issue is that he wants to play every minute of every game he can, and it affects his durability. He could try and do well at City where Jesus and others have struggled, but he'll have to get used to not playing every game - even when he's fit. Same with madrid.

That's quite funny, are you comparing Kane to those strikers?

IMO Kane is probably one of the best strikers in world football, Morata, Jovic, Mariano never were.

Kane would play most games, most footballers who love the game want to play every minute of every game. This is why managers are well paid, to ensure they keep players fit. Jose plays Kane in dead rubber games, league cup, Europa qualifiers in which Pep would never do so he is fit for the important PL and CL games.

Barcelona interested in Kane this summer. Laporta needs a marquee signing. Barcelona recruitment/analytics department impressed by Kane's all round game. Usual issues with this i.e. would kane leave spurs? Would Levy negotiate on his £150mil valuation of kane. Can Barcelona get a deal done with their financial issues (alot depends on laporta credit facility). Would levy accept installments etc?

I don't think Harry will leave England.

I thought Kane was poor last night, looks sluggish, lethargic and still looks to drop deep far too often.
His hold up play was very good however, but just seemed to slow play down for England.

I think that's by design, rather than Harry doing it off his own bat.

He's been playing much deeper for spurs this season, almost as a false 9. Creating play, holding up the ball in deep and then getting on the end of things once he's played the first ball. He's been absolutely outstanding in this role and it's shown how much technical ability the guy has to his all round game. I think this new role has likely taken a price from his body since he doesn't seem to get as much rest as he used to.

Maybe so, but he does it for Spurs quite often too.
Doesn't seem to detriment his goalscoring impact at Spurs, but does for England.

We have the same problem as England, zero creativity from midfield.
England playing no attacking midfielder is a big issue. There is such a massive gap between midfield and attack that I think he needs to drop deep to provide a link. He gets barely any service whilst he is up there, anyway, so he might as well join in.

They did say that he's quite settled with his family and a home boy. If he was to leave surely spurs fans would prefer he went abroad rather than one of the manchester clubs?
Wouldn't be that bothered, he deserves to be at a club consistently challenging as long as its outside of London I don't honestly care.

Doubt he will Ever leave Tottenham, the amount of money he’d cost would be outrageous.
With the service he has given Spurs over the years Im sure they could come to some kind of agreement. He has literally carried them through some games.

No CL, no trophies, it's time for a change. With Bayern sniffing around Son could see a few of the stars out the door at Spurs. Bale back to RM, Son and Kane gone, that is a very average Spurs line up. Vinicius, pretty much unproven, a three behind him of Lamela, Moura and Bergwyn/Alli. That is a massive drop off from Kane up top, Son, Moura, Bale behind him. Bale copped a lot of flack but his stats are really not that bad overall, in no way justifying his 250 000 a week mind.

What a beast, two quickfire goals against Newcastle to turn the game on it's head. If I'm not mistaken is that 21 Premier League goals so far this season?

He really needs to push for a move away from Spurs. I think it's this summer or nothing(well after 30 actually)

If he doesn't leave in the summer he will probably have it in his mind to become Spurs top goal scorer and then he will be 30.
Do think he can do a sherringham and play into mid to late 30s the way he plays the game

19 goals and 13 assists. 32 G/A’s in 28 matches, playing for a Jose Mourinho side. Crazy stats.

I wouldn't blink twice to spend whatever it takes for him. He's phenomenal and will likely stay this way into his 30s. He's not an explosive player that relies on speed or trickery, but just a lethal finisher with impeccable hold up play and intelligent positioning. Whoever gets him is sorted for 6-7 years.

Cant think of any club that'd have the cash that would prioritize him at the moment either. Weird one.

I can see Chelsea going nuts with a transfer, but thankfully he looks unlikely to want to move to a London rival. I genuinely think it's us or City but likely the season after next.

Given his injury woes in the past don't you think that assuming he'll stay this way into his 30s is a bit of a gamble? I know he doesn't rely on pace but the recurring ankle injuries have to be a bit of a concern. Also, when not injured he's been rested very rarely so has still clocked a lot of miles. Brilliant player but I'd be a little worried about being stuck with an expensive sicknote if we spent crazy money on him. If he is able to stay fit and keep his levels close to this season for four or five more years though it's a no brainer.

If he remains at Spurs after the summer, then he just will be looking to break Greavsie's record, that's all.
That's what I feel

Manchester is the only place I see him going. He will obviously suit any team in the world but for us he will be exactly what we need to put away these teams where we drop silly points and he is a perfect Pep system player the way he drops

Even with the injuries he gets he still gets you about 30 goals a season
Spurs are in the driving seat here as he's signed until 2024. So end of this season has 3 years left so they can and will demand record fees for this league

No, I've said this lots of times - his injury record is quite overcooked. He has had 27 and 28 PL apps in the past 2 years, which was his worst period but certainly not terrible - in all competitions in the last 3 seasons he's had 48, 40 and 34 apps.

This season he looks likely break 30+ Premier League appearances and will likely hit 45+ appearances in all competitions. I really don't think he has injury woes that cause big concerns, he's a player that takes care of himself and can play through long seasons. I think a couple weeks out here and there is inevitable but it's likely the case with most players you'd buy regardless.

I take your point. I just think that given how hard every spuds manager seems to play him when he's not injured, he's maybe more at risk than most (particularly given his slightly chequered injury past) of those niggles starting to become even more frequent and more serious. Like I say, brilliant player, but if he was playing for us I'd be watching from behind the couch every time he went down

2014-2018 Kane was better than this one. But this one is still incredibly good.

How often would any club sell circa £300m worth of players and the hypothetical being that they'd wouldn't replace them?

The worst thing most clubs do is not sell high-stock players. It is part of the regeneration process. Leicester have done it well, as have Liverpool. German teams also.

If spurs sold kane 2 seasons ago and bought Haaland, there'd be around a £100m difference and (assuming the same form in the PL) you'd have the same again. The "selling club" shtick is really not always as bad as it's made out to be sometimes.

As I said in another thread it's not impossible that he could break the Spurs record next season provided it's a very good goal scoring season and also he still has 8 or 9 games of this one left. He could leave them at 29/30 and still have 4 or 5 years at the top.

Of course the money is going to be reinvested, fans would absolutely demand that money be used to replenish the squad. But it takes time for those players to settle in a new environment, find their feet with a new managers tactics and style of play etc. And there is no guarantee they will fulfil their potential.

Look at the Bale money, Eriksen was the standout performer from that spending spree. But took him a while to find his feet and start to make a big impact on games, the other players were all average to misses except Lamela who really fit that Pochettino style of press from the front football.

Soldado, never really happened for him, Capoue, was deemed not good enough early on, Chiriches was a bit of a speculator, Paulinho deemed not good enough, although I will cede he did make a decent contribution here and there. Chadli had one good season out of the three he was at Spurs.

And despite me suggesting I think it is time Kane moved on, I think he will stay simply due to economic circumstances that have arisen from Covid. No one will be able to afford a striker of his quality unless it is some convoluted pay 40mil each year over 4 years kind of deal, and would Levy agree to that? I don't think so, Id imagine he would want the cash up front to reinvest in the squad.

He is a better footballer now than he was then, you put him in a City team or dare I say your current team and his goal scoring would get much better.
Assuming he stays at Spurs for the long term, what parts of the team would need to improve for him to score even more ?

He'd have a similar impact to RVP IMO. The whole team would raise their game too. I know there is talk of no big spending this year but we need a CF and he'd be many peoples choice.

Manager. Lets be honest, Spurs have some rebuilding to do that should have been done instead of getting rid of Pochettino. Always cheaper to turf the manager though rather than replace like 5 or 6 players.

Or he moves to a better team, there would be an adjustment period, like there is for any footballer. But damn it's almost scary to think how many goals he would be banging in at City under Pep being fed by the likes of De Bruyne and crosses flying in from wide. Kane is so good he can drop deep with runners in front of him and virtually play that De Bruyne role if needed.

He'd have a similar impact to RVP IMO. The whole team would raise their game too. I know there is talk of no big spending this year but we need a CF and he'd be many peoples choice.
United have Greenwood, Rashford, Martial, and Cavani that can all play CF, granted Cavani is on the older side and Greenwood a bit young but Rashford up top seems to be the way United are going no? At 23 he will only get better, will he reach Kane levels, no I don't think so, Kane at 23 was tearing it up, but it is rare a striker reaches the kind of output Kane has for extended periods of time. You have to look to the greats like Aguero, Henry, Shearer to find players with Kane's kind of output over prolonged periods.

If he goes, which I doubt given Covid, it will be to one of the oil giants I would imagine, im sure their finances have not suffered much if at all over the course of the pandemic. It's just getting around the ffp rules that is the problem, with no gate receipts, all the sales on a match day, beverages, food, shirts, paraphernalia, etc, that is a lot of money knocked off your finances.

If he can keep up his form until the end of the season, (after the Euros) without getting any injuries then I would love us to go big on Kane. IMO he still has at least 5 more seasons at the top by the way he players the game and for me that is long enough time to shell out a hefty amount of money on a player.

I'm sure he would love to remain in the PL and if he does he has a very good chance of breaking Shearer's record of 260 PL goals. I think the only clubs he would go to would be United, City, Barca and Madrid. I will only add PSG to that list because of Pochettino but if things continue to go wrong for him at PSG and he fails to deliver the Ligue 1 and the CL this season he will come under a lot of pressure.

The issues with signing Kane would be the fact if we do sign him he would use up a bulk of our transfer budget for the summer and we got other key areas that also need addressing too. The other issue is Daniel Levy... I am sure even during a pandemic he would be looking to hold out for at least £130m. Would we splash that much on a player knowing we got other areas that need addressing too?
