Need some opinions for this Wild Card team, do you guys think Salah really essential for this final run of games?
I'll try to get Salah but if I sacrifice him I can get stronger/rotation free squad

Option A (With Salah)
Martinez Patricio
AAT Rudiger Shaw Stones Holding
Fernandes Son Jota Lingard Salah
Kane Iheanacho Vydra

ITB : 0.2

Option B (Without Salah)
Martinez Leno
AAT Rudiger Shaw Dias Coady
Fernandes Son Jota Lingard Mount/Maddison
Kane Iheanacho Lacazette

ITB : 0.7

Yeah I'd have Salah in if I was wildcarding. You know what a greedy shit he is and he'll want to make sure he gets the golden boot again. Good chance they get knocked out of Europe next week as well so no reason for him to be rested.

I wouldn't say option B is any more free from rotation than option A either. Rudiger, Dias, Jota, Mount, Iheanacho, Lacazette are not 100% safe from the odd benching.

I would get Forster in as one of my gk's as well. Maybe with Mendy or Schmeichel and then bring in Targett in defence if you still want someone from Villa for the double.

Need some suggestions on whether to have these following players for coming weeks with a WC

Targett
Pereira from WBA
Maddison
Iheneacho
Vydra

If I don't take TAA, I need not do the Mendy/Forster and can afford a costlier keeper along with Mendy. Any suggestions, apart from Martinez.
Keep TAA. Mendy/Forster or Schmeichel/Forster looks good to me.

Looks like my bench will be:

Forster (vs. West Brom)
Coady (vs. Fulham)
Konsa (vs. Liverpool)
Vydra (vs. Newcastle)

Worth playing Bench Boost or wait for the potential DGW that is yet to be announced?

If you haven't realised you can't second guess Pep by now you never will!
Ah right. Yeah I know, it just feels not have any of their attackers when they play Leeds.

I’ve enjoyed not having Liverpool players in my team recently, so I think I’m doing anything I can to keep it that way. I might just stick with Salah and leave Jota for that reason only.

Seems like people are split whether Pep will play Aguero, Jesus or both so on that basis I'll avoid City.

I wanted Jota at some point anyway so he's in for Raphinha. Arm band on him too.

Now to decide whether it's worth a -4 to bring in Iheanacho for Watkins or not. I will probably take a hit next week anyway to bring in him and Lloris.

Areola
Digne Dias Alonso
Jota (c) Bruno Son Lingard JWP
Kane (vc) DCL

bench : Martinez, Watkins, Cresswell, Dallas

Tough one. City will have a keen eye on UCL and Leeds are very attacking. With Ole at the wheel, we will set up for a draw, as will Mourinho with the Spurs double decker. I can see that games being very low scoring.

Here's my WC final draft... Anyone see any obvious errors? I have 0 in the bank.

Mendy
TAA, Rudiger, Shaw
Bruno, Wingard, Salah, Jota, Son
Kane, Ihenacho

Subs: Forster, Coady, Konsa, Vydra

Thanks for the input
I just guess in my first viewing Mount/Maddison, Coady, Dias, Lacazette is way more even vs Salah, Holding, Stones, Vydra

Is Forster nailed now? I really want to keep Martinez since I have him from 4.5m and think he's worthed to hold
And I prefer to get defence from Wolves & Arsenal instead double up on Chelsea.

Another way to spread the budget is by downgrading AAT to Phillip because does the 3.3m differences worthed for AAT attacking output :smirk:

Also Shaw or Dias for GW31?
I believe City will be more likely to get cleansheet than us, but I also picked Dias over Shaw on the Manchester Derby and look what happened :wenger:

Maddison or Ihenacho?

And Pereira vs Southampton?
There are many good alternatives to Madison (Jota, Wingard, Mount etc) whereas there's hardly any good options in place of Ihenacho due to the fixtures swing.

Pereira is having minutes managed so not entirely sold on him.

Edit: I think you meant the West Brom Pereira... still not sold on him. The team is still shocking going forward despite the Chelsea anomaly.

Really torn whether I should keep Gundo or not. Need to pick 2 from Jota Gundo and Raphinha on a wildcard.

So what to do with Antonio?

Iheanacho? or DCL or another punt. Many interesting forwards, but noone obvious.

Lacazette feels like a fun punt, but I fear for his minutes.

I am thinking about taking a hit to sell him. Rotation is too high.
Sadly I want Jota and he is not much better, but at least get minutes from the bench.

Really depends on the Champions league results. If Liverpool get knocked out then they will push hard for top 4 and they have some great fixtures. But at the same time City can get knocked out as well and then they'll play their best XI in the league.

The funny thing is that the FPL thread has a lot more well reasoned opinions than basically every single other thread on the Caf. Nothing like having some skin in the game

Any takers?
I am not sure about Son personally, but it is hard to know which Spurs players to get. I know you have him for the double.

I would like a better forward than Vydra as well, but you got many players you can downgrade in the future.

Not sure TAA is worth the money either. I hold him for far too long of course he gets the assist first game after I sold with 0 assist for the 6-7 weeks I had him.
I am thinking getting Phillips and using the money on attack.

True I just know Gundogan need to be gone by 33 so I can field a full 11. I probably want Jota/Lingard at some points so feel like doing that move right now.

Problem is I got no obvious captain.

Thanks for responding.

Yo are correct, Son is staying for the double, then I may see what the lay of the land is after that.

Vydra is being used as an enabler. I plan to play with 5 MFs this year as the value seems to be there with all the mid range FWs having nightmare fixtures.

TAA is my punt as his EO is so low. Liverpool most likely going out the UCL, have the best fixture run and he is fighting for his England place. If I drop him to Phillips, I can field this;

Mendy
Phillips, Azpi, Shaw
Bruno, Wingard, Salah, Jota, Son
Kane, Ihenacho

Subs: Forster, Bamford, Coady, Konsa

Obviously Bamford could also be Watkins/Antonio etc...

I think you might not need the bench for now and can then downgrade in the future. Vydra also got Newcastle now so you could even play him I guess over Son if you want. Well last time I was one of those selling him against us haha, but I always tries to bench players against us. Kane though is too good to be benched.

For 33 you can downgrade Son for example and then use the money on a better forward that should give you a decent 11.

If you have free hit then I guess no problem at all for you. I expect you keep kane rather than maybe going with Vardy or Laca potentially?

How I wish I had a wildcard. Could be a massive boost to everyone saving it and free hit.
There's 3 key things I'm monitoring.
When Villa and Everton's doubles fall, and what they do with any double game week.

8 weeks to go and hoping to see them off as I'm holding a 45 point lead in the work superleague that I'd love to win for only the second team.

Also am 2nd in another league that has double the cash, but the work league is my big one.

I have 2 free transfers, and the top issues in my team are the below

  1. Lingard is essential - so Ward Prowse to him looks the move
  2. Need to get Son in, but for next week - might be tricky as I don't want to sacrifice Salah or Bruno
  3. Dier and Richarlison - one not playing, one under performing - yet has a double soon.
  4. Having Mendy at 5.2 as well as Pope at 5.5. Way too much money on keepers

Will probably just do Ward P to Lingard this week - roll that 2 freebies to next week again.
See if any injuries change the landscape. Son hasn't come through 90mins since injury for one.

I take out my frustration about United on other places. This is a good place to go a bit less biased.

Fantasy frustration is part of it as well, but this season I have been lucky so far with injuries and problems. Pep has been very kind for a long part although I can see it ending soon.

Feel though as if things are turning against me a bit recently with the Son injury which has really caused lots of frustration.

Also Antonio and Soucek has been super annoying for me to own and I got Antonio a bit too late. I have benched 5/5 goals from them when in my team and I did not get Lingard due to these two as well.

Just to remember in total I have benched 6 goals and 5 of these from my West Ham mid/striker

Would you get Lingard over Jota for this week? I am probably getting the other very soon anyway.

The fixtures are better for Liverpool, but also the rotation may happen with Jota.

My bench right now is at the level when I almost hope Jota comes on if he do not start.

Dallas might come on and maybe I shall take another -4 to sell him. Just I do not like to take big hits in case I change my mind and want to keep him.

I had Lingard in week 29 on the free hit, but seeing him trouser 12 points last game, and the points before just makes him number 1 priority I think.
Jota is dangerous, and no doubt some rivals bring him in (and is the highest transferred in player this week in the country), but I have Salah. I suppose I could cover myself by doing him to Jota, but i'm inclined to captain Salah and try and differential everyone, using the most expensive player in the league!

However, Salah to Jota then gives an easy way of upgrading Raphina to Son the week after.
Hmm decisions.

Looking at those Liverpool fixtures, I think if anything you've got to be aiming for Salah AND Jota. Shame the Tottenham double is complicating things a bit.
Maybe i'll sort it so that I have Son week 32, and then leap to Jota for the end, potentially with money to scrape TAA in too.

For me then I think Gundogan to Jota and then Trossard/Raphinha to Lingard makes most sense. I think Trossard vs Chelsea is hard sadly though it means selling him before he play Sheffield which is apart from Newcastle the second reason I got him. Raphinha I like near the end, but could always get him back or go with Bamford.

I also need enough money to do Son to Bruno in 33.

Gundo if he plays this week could smash Leeds though. He's had a rest last league game, but like de Bruyne played 90 midweek. Hopefully it's DB's time for a rest?

One of Stones or Dias will play so I'm safe with Coufal on the bench, it's if both somehow didn't start I'd be in trouble, with Dier dead weight right now.

Will make sure Shaw and Bruno come through tonight first, and monitor any last minute stuff tomorrow I think.

WC team:

Mendy / Forster
TAA Dias Rudiger Coady Shaw
Fernandes Lingard Jota Salah Mount
Kane Iheanacho Vydra

0 left in the bank
only have bench boost left after using this chip. I will bring in Son again next week for the double. Wanted to keep Ederson but got rid for Mendy to allow spending elsewhere.

Feels wrong having so little Man City cover and I want Maddison ideally too.....

Any pointers?

Yeah it is a bit risky selling Gundogan. Just think he might not play and then I am forced to use my bench which is Raphinha I guess.

Also think it will be a B City side so probably not going to destroy Leeds as much as they could with best team.

Would you rather keep Gundogan and get a defender for Dallas? Problem is many defenders aren't ideal for this week. Waiting one week I could just get Shaw with some nice fixtures.

I get a strange feeling De Bruyne will be rested in this one, which hopefully means Gundo could play.

I might even consider a -4 to do Raphina, Ward P and either Pope or Richarlison to Jota, Lingard and Forster/Ichenacho.

Don't like -4s though, and still doesn't resolve the Son issue for week 32.
Richarlison I'm sort of loathe to lose as he missed a fair few chances too.
And while Forster will have a double, it might be better to deal with trimming the keeper values for the wildcard.

I'll probably risk being without Jota to be honest and do Ward P to Lingard. I did consider rucking Raphina off instead as Ward P has that double looming, but as he doesn't have a game in week 33 and I'd have 3 City and at least 2 Tottenham, that could become awkward quickly.

It's difficult as currently I have 2 Tott, and 3 City. That leaves me with 10 for week 33, but knowing I need Son in next week too.
Will have to take a -4 sometime soon I'm sure.
