Granada Club de Fútbol, S.A.D., known simply as Granada and nicknamed Nazaríes, is a Spanish football club in the city of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Granada Club de Fútbol was founded on 14 April 1931, originally as Recreativo de Granada; the first president was Julio López Fernández. It was him who registered the club in the Registry of Associations in the Civil Government and presented the first Board of Directors. The first football match was played against the Deportivo Jaén on 6 December 1931, which resulted in a 2–1 victory. That season, the club finished 2nd in the Tercera Regional – Región Sur championship. 4 wins in 6 matches helped Granada CF to be promoted to the Segunda Regional.

After several promotions, in 1941–42 the club made its La Liga debut. It was the match against the Celta on 28 September 1941. During that season the Granada had some historical home wins, among them 8–0 against the Real Oviedo and 6–0 against the Barcelona. The Granada finished the season in the 10th position among 14 teams. From here until the 1980s, it alternated between that category and the Segunda División, with its golden age coming during the 1970s, with eight top flight seasons, which included a best-ever two sixth league places (1971–72, 1973–74). The Granada finished the 1971-72 season with 9 wins in the last 10 home games, among them wins against the Barcelona and the Real. In 1959 the Granada achieved its greatest sports landmark, being the runner-up of the Copa del Generalísimo (later Copa del Rey).

The Derby of eastern Andalusia also known as the Andalucía Oriental derby (the Derbi Andaluz, the Derbi Oriental) is the name of a running football club rivalry in eastern Andalusia region, Spain, between the Málaga CF (previously the CD Málaga) and the Granada CF. The club plays its home matches at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes.

No Bailly, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, or Martial for this game in case anyone is unaware.

De Gea, Tuanzebe, Telles, Matic, Pogba, van de Beek, James and Greenwood are players I really think should be starting. I'd be quite surprised if all eight of them didn't to be honest. Along with this, Williams, Amad and Mata should get some time on the pitch.

I know most of us want almost full rotation, but I think perhaps Wan-Bissaka or Fred could end up starting and being subbed at half time or so still.

Easy 3-0 win with plenty of rotation. Give Bruno the night off.

With such a rotated backline, I'd at least try to keep Wan-Bissaka in the side. Europa should be our complete priority now.

    Wan-Bissaka Tuanzebe Lindelöf Telles
    Fred Matić
    Amad Fernandes Pogba

This is what I'm hoping for at least. Bruno and Rashford on the bench in case we need them but I genuinely think this team will be good enough to see us through the tie.
Hopefully we get an early goal and see some youngsters come on.

This is a tricky one with our suspensions and players carrying injury.

A 2-0 lead is very good. And should be enough. But if they get the first goal it's game on again and the next goal becomes huge - especially without two key defenders (three counting Bailly).

    I'd probably go for...

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Tuanzebe, Telles
    Fred, Pogba
    Greenwood, Fernandes, James
    Cavani

With Rashford on the bench if needed.
I'd love to get van de Beek in there but, without key defenders, I think we need to pick key CM's and pick enough of our main attacking threat to get a goal or two in case our makeshift defence concedes. If we've done enough after 45 / 60 minutes - which is no guarantee - then hopefully van de Beek and Amad can get some game time.

For the love of God, please rest Marcus against Granada and Burnley.
Hopefully, the boys will start strongly and finish the tie in the first half. We need to see Amad and Elanga in the second half. Maybe Shola also. It also would be nice to see Ethan Galbraith.

I'd expect starts for DeGea, Telles, Tuanzebe, Matic, De Beek, Mata, Greenwood and if he's fit James.

Granada won 2-1 away this evening but their away record is poor compared to their home record.

Saying that they will be full strength against a united team with maybe 3 first choice players starting? and Uniteds record against spanish opposition in Old Trafford is poor, last 10 matches W1, D5, L4 and that last win was against Sociedad 1-0 in 2013.

Why not play our entire reserves/youth team in the quarter finals of a european cup

I'm okay with rotation here. Donny Van de Beek is the only player I really don't want to see. Simply can't get by with an attacking midfielder that doesn't want the ball.

I'd play Fred and Pogba here with McTominay returning against Burnley. Not worried about Shaw as we have Telles, but hope Tuanzebe steps up. Would be tempted to throw Bailly in if he is good.
Matic should never start a football game for this club again.

Guess De Gea, AWB, Lindelof and Greenwood are guaranteed to start. James too if fit. Not sure what's happening with Amad.

    I'd go:

    De Gea
    AWB Bailly/T Lindelof Telles
    Pogba Fred
    Amad Fernandes James
    Greenwood

Who's suspended, Shaw, Maguire and McTominay? Would like to see Bruno, Rashford, and Cavani all on the bench, saving their energy.

Doubt there's a rest for AWB, it's not like the tie is finished. Hopefully not a midfield pairing of Fred and Matic though, as that just doesn't work.

Some laughable suggestions in here. We're already missing half our defence, no chance the whole attack gets rotated on top of that. It will be a strong team and rotation at half time when the tie is hopefully put to bed.

We need to rest Rashford 100% no reason to not start it now. Is rest enough does he need surgery?

I think we might see VDB handed a rare start in this. James in for Rashford. I could see Amad getting on for 20 mins.

    DDG
    AWB (who else)
    Maguire (rip)
    Tuanzebe
    Telles

    VDB
    Matic
    Pogba

Bruno should really be given the night off but he’ll surely play

    Greenwood
    James

I hope Ole plays the kids as early as possible.

If he doesn't feed his son, what hope have other kids got?
Or did he actually mean that he´s not feeding Son?

He should anyway, to help him grow stronger and more tolerant to pain.

Bruno, Pogba, play absolute best team there is. We struggled in the first match and now with some key players absent we need to take this seriously.

Yeah, it's amazing how people are so cavalier about the Q/F of a european competition, when we haven't won a trophy for 4 years, or at all under our current manager.

And the whole 'resting players because Granada are rubbish' suggestion - they're 8th in La Liga. We'd be resting them for a home game v 15th placed Burnley. We're already without some key players due to injury and suspension, start resting many more and it's a mostly second string team in the Q/F of Europe!

I'd understand starting Rashford on the bench with his ongoing issues, but we shouldn't be risking leaving many others out given the amount we're already missing and the importance of the game.

Almost everyone has gone for Axel starting. He should not be starting for us under any circumstances, he’s a disaster more often than not. If he is to start, I’d put him at RB as Wan-Bissaka never seems to get a break. Too big a risk in the middle though for me.

I’d like to think Hannibal will be involved in the squad for this one.

Nah. Obviously we should play the U18s in a quarter final of a European Cup.

Truth is at 2-0 the tie is far from over. With a rotated back line due to suspensions I expect we will start a strong midfield and probably have Pogba and Fernandes in the pitch too to try get another goal and kill it off.
