Swap Mbappe for Halland last night and you reckon he'd have dragged Dortmund to a win with basically no service?
He'd have done more damage to City yeah, Mbappe is a smarter more creative talent. He might not have dragged them to a win, but I think he probably makes a bigger impression. But then he's a better player, so it makes sense. Mbappe has so much more to his game than Haaland.

Id debate Mbappe in a better team than Haaland so I'm holding judgement till he plays for United., :D

Biggest two matches of his career so far this week and last week, and he might as well not have bothered turning up for either of them.

You talk about him not being overhyped then you go on to say he may become the greatest in the history of the game, so you not see my point?
Greatest in the history of the game? I never said that! I said that he might become one of the best strikers ever!

He will be brilliant wherever he goes. I'll be butthurt regardless and hate him the rest of his career ala Shearer.
Shearer was a dirty cnut who would kick someone in the head and then use his position as England captain to avoid punishment. I'm glad he never wore our shirt.

Yea lets just conveniently forget that he put 4 goals past Sevilla, a team we can't even beat under two different managers.

He's a very good player but simply not worth 100M+. Mbappe is a level above him. Maybe two.
Can somebody with more time than me make a compilation of comments such as this one? I'd like to post it when he wins the Ballon d'Or.

Anyone noticed this dip in form coinciding with his fat-mouthed agent whoring him out left, right & centre in the media?
Saying he's gonna want a Ronaldo-esque contract. Saying he's gonna be costing £150 mil in a covid market and the highest bidder wins.
His head's already out the door and that's always gonna be a problem with a r*aola client.

Ole managed Pogba this time round pretty well, but it's clearly because nobody could afford him so he had to get his head down and work.
What are the odds we start getting the same old sh*t with Pogba again next year and he's strolling around the pitch again looking like he can't be fecked?

As much as I rate Haaland, please stay away from yet another client of that rat, it will negatively effect the team

Haaland below 110m is very very unlikely. Only provocateurs value him to 75m and compare him with Lukaku:lol: Haaland‘s price is probably between 120-150m.

That’s why I prefer Sancho (65m) + Kane (100m).

It was super poor timing with the trip. Karma maybe.

I don’t think Dortmund sell Sancho for 65.

Don't think we will make 2 marquee signings in one summer. Will take just Sancho given the market

You're reading too much into it. The dip started a couple of weeks before that circus.

He just looks knackered. Kid is 20 and this is his first season where he's expected to play most minutes of every game. Last year he had his minutes managed throughout the season, he had a month off before joining Dortmund and then had another couple of months off due to covid. He played 2750 minutes the whole season. Even then he looked pretty gassed in the final month of the season. This season has been far more compact and he's already at 3000 minutes with potentially another 720 minutes to play. Body doesn't get used to the demands overnight.

Sancho this year, keep Cavani 1 more then go for Haaland next year if required. Greenwood might be ready by that point and we won't need him anyway.

Haaland certainly looks to be a better goalscorer than Lukaku, or anyone for that matter. I think the comparisons come in the form that both add most value in the 12 yard box and can be otherwise missing on the rest of the pitch compared to a Harry Kane, Benzema or Lewa. I agree with you in preferring Sancho + Kane although it will never ever happen for those figures(!)

Has his form took a bit of a dive lately?

Perhaps all this touring around for suitors mid season has messed with him a bit. The main thing that puts me off is the circus and I think it's pretty evident why.

Yup, I'd go for Sancho + CB + DM/CM next year and wait another for the 'right' CF to be available depending on Greenwood's development.

I am not sure about Greenwood leading the line in the long term. There is something missing in his game, especially this season. Obviously physicality is an issue and that could improve, perhaps he will make more of the right runs and take up more of the right positions over time too, but still I am not sure. There is just something about him on the pitch that seems a little meek. Martial has this same issue, and so does Rashford sometimes. It's a little frustrating as they are all good players... but when Cavani is on it, or when Ibra was, and when you watch someone like Kane or Haaland there is just more fire there to rattle defenders. We need more of that. More fire.

This is why to me we need a player like Haaland and there are not too many about. If Cavani stays another season it could perhaps wait, but not if he makes the big move this summer as it would then be too late. Maybe Vlahovic is an alternative from what I have seen. Not sure who else.

I can see why some posters think we need Sancho more, we definitely have a balance problem on the right, but here it just seems like there are more possibilities both in the market and potentially in our ranks.

The real reason why Haaland never came to United, interviews.
pretty shocking on both counts if that isn’t some sort of joke.

For Haaland to be that against interviews that he’d cost himself his dream move but equally shocking that Ole would allow that to be a deciding factor in a move for him.

Feel like it’s got to have been taken out of context somehow though.

He's only 20 and still physically maturing. He still looks like a boy compared to Haaland like a man.

He's definitely made improvements recently, and by the time he's 23/24 i'm sure he'll be playing striker no problems.

Which would, by default, make him one of the greatest of all time, hence why people think he's being overhyped.

What about Greenwood’s games up front suggest he is a striker? I would understand if say he was making the right runs, getting into the right positions, or making immature decisions that he might grow out of or where he just needs a bit of confidence, I could see it. He however just doesn’t get into the right positions for a striker, whenever our wide players or midfield look for him he is stood still, or outside the box. Compared to the natural movement and work put in by other cfs. Keep greenwood as the right foreardcv cy TY

I don’t think Greenwood has really played up front much in any of his career has he?

Tbf to him, they've been missing their best player over the last few weeks so it's only natural that his numbers would take a slight hit from missing consistent quality service

There’s taking a slight hit and there’s going 7/8 games without a goal.

Yes, mbappe can create goal opportunities for himself as well as finish off chances from teammates. He's in that very rare class of players who can do both like Henry could.

if we can get Cavani to stay then it works well for us if Haaland stays

we can spend the money on other areas and have a run at him the following summer, but I doubt we have much chance seeing as he's a City fan

You think only provocateurs value Haaland at 75 million....then go straight on to value Sancho at 65 million?

People on here are very harsh on strikers. I saw it on here last season on Martial who was having a very good season. Whenever he got isolated and marked out it was all his fault. City were playing a high line and his team mates could not get him one good chance. If Haaland and Sancho leave this team they are going to be in so much trouble. The rest of that team is average is feck.

Then there is the comparison to Mbappe, they guy who played alongside a very good winger (di Maria) and a world class player in Neymar. Haaland didn't even have Sancho who is not on the level of those 2 yet.

I don't think anyone will buy him with the rumoured demands that are being thrown around.

Personally, I think he will stay at Dortmund for another year, and then move next year.

Think he has some release clause that starts then right ??

Anyone expecting us to spend big is going to be disappointed.

It’s 100% a joke with fake subtitles. Just wanted to throw a little fun in this thread after I found this clip by complete accident.
